Quote:Virtue seems to alternate between pulling them to the Tennis Court and pulling them to the Helipad depending on who's running the league. That's how the runs I've been on on Virtue have gone, pull them to the tennis court, kill them together at the end. Though I've only run it a few times and I know they've also done "keep them separate" runs.
It does seem to be standard practice to camp the chokepoints instead of the doors for the prisoners though. -
I'm not sure about PvP but for Incarnate Content I would actually say neither. Now, comparing Tough/Weave to Aid Other/Self I would say take Tough/Weave (assuming you can afford to run them). However, I would also say that you really, really, really want Tactical Training: Leadership for the Incarnate Content. Fighting level 54s, many of whom have Defense buffs, means that you really need more accuracy/to hit bonuses than in normal content.

For any Blaster I mostly just recommend (as others have said) stocking up on purple and red inspirations and, if possible, immobilizing him in the lava. In pretty much any Blaster vs. Elite Boss fight the trick with the Blaster is not the application of damage but staying alive long enough to use it. Immobilizing him helps a lot with this since he can't use his powerful melee attacks.
Quote:Well the big advice I'd give with Traps is to make sure you set down a Poison Gas Trap and try to keep him in the cloud for the duration. That should neuter his regen enough for you to take him out. I'd still recommend destroying the clones since they also buff his damage resistance. Ideally with a Trapper you'd also want to immobilize him but for a Traps/Dual Pistol Defender I think power choices are likely to be tight enough that you can't really take Web Grenade.Sadly this /traps is a Dual Pistols Defender, something I do enjoy but am more than willing to admit it occasionally lacks under some conditions, like this one.Even when I was keeping him in the lava using knockback (ammo toggle off, vet reward blackwand and epic pool Thunder Strike) I was doing so little actual damage that he would eventually leap out and away and i'd start over again.

That depends on how much you use your MM's personal powers. Personally I have never gotten the 10 Threads table on my MM.
-
Yeah that's my problem.
Quote:Also, I don't think the radius on them is too huge so I imagine I'll find myself out of range from pets quite a bit considering they like to do their own thing most of the time. -
Has anyone experimented with using the Pet Set Unique Aura IOs on a Crab Spider? Did it make a noticeable difference in the survivability of the pets?
On the one hand slotting all four and adding a +20% resistance/+10% defense to all my pets sounds potentially very useful. On the other hand I can definitely find other uses for those slots.

Quote:I'm glad to hear it, but I still say not including it in CoH 6 was a mistake. Yes, the tech was new at the time but the media severely overstated the frequency of cerebral hemorrhaging. Waiting until that was solved might have saved a few customers but it also means that CoH is one of the last major MMOs to adopt it.With CoH 7 we are proud to announce we will be introducing full Neural Integration. No longer will you be encumbered by the burden of a mouse, keyboard or even a computer at all. With the purchase of the Brainjack Booster Pack you can beam the CoH experience straight into your frontal lobe.

Yeah. Heck, for Time Bomb I'd say replace it with an Omega Maneuver clone. Sure, Omega Maneuver is not exactly a hugely popular power either but at least it's fun to use.
I'll tolerate low effectiveness in a power if it's fun to use. -
Slight correction, the steadfast protection knockback IO is not available for Alignment Merits. It costs 75 reward merits which is to low to make it "worth" an alignment merit.

Quote:Yeah my experience is that end redux is more important than recharge in attacks if your characters uses just about any toggles *maybe not for Regen and Willpower). I was playing my DP/Storm last night and wondering why I was running out of endurance whenever I used my secondary then I took a look at my slotting and realized that I'd forgotten to slot end redux into most of my attack. Whoops. Also, I had enhanced almost all of my powers for recharge and none for endrdx and so this was making my end use worse (although increasing my dps I guess). Since I now know that end use is a known issue for crabs, I am going to slot up stamina as if its a higher priority. There's only so many slots, and sometimes it's hard to know when to go for it.

The short version is that on SOs the MM will be quite a bit stronger than the Crab. However the Crab will benefit more from IOs.
Personally I recommend taking Frag Grenade, the knockback isn't really that strong and in all honesty knockback is nowhere near the problem some people make it out to be.
For Endurance, yes Crabs do tend to suck up quite a bit, my main recommendation is to slot at least 1 end reduction in all of your attacks and, if possible, get the special recovery IOs for Health (if you're short on Inf Alignment Merits are an excellent way to get them).
For survivability I'm not sure why you're having trouble. If you have Combat Training: Defensive, Fortification and Tactical Training Maneuvers and have at least a couple of enhancements in each you should be tough enough to run at +0x3 or +0x4 without to much difficulty.
Regarding you being knocked back, again the practical solution is IOs. A Steadfast Protection -KB IO is pretty cheap and an obvious one to slot in Crab Spider Armor Upgrade (which doesn't really need slotting). You can normally get those pretty cheap on the market, or worst case buy one for Reward Merits. 4 points of kb protection protects from a lot of the NPC knockback abilities in the game. -
I'd be cautious about selecting a power set based on the current functionality of Interface. I fully expect the devs to change it at some point in the future.

No to Acid, yes to Disruption. Acid Arrow (like most resistance debuffs) is set to not stack from the same caster so shooting it again simply refreshes the duration. The same is technically true of disruption arrow as well but since it's a pseudo pet that does the actual debuffing it will stack when it comes from different disruption arrow pets.

I'd recommend AR over DP. AR animates faster (giving it a smoother feel and lessening the redraw penalty) and has more AoE potential. The only real AoE damage advantage I see for a Traps/DR over Traps/AR is that PGT -> HoB is more convenient than PGT -> FA since you don't need to move, however since HoB has twice the recharge I still prefer AR. DP is slightly better than AR against single targets, especially if you set up appropriate macros to leverage the -resist of Piercing Rounds but AR has better AoE damage.

Persoanlly I'd say just decrease the cast time to ~2 seconds (non-interruptable). I don't think the Drone itself needs anything other than an AI fix (DO NOT GO INTO MELEE!).

Quote:That is sort of true. The flip side is that most of the inf will eventually come back into the economy. Even the 88s and their mad rampage of inf destruction didn't really seem to have much impact on the economy. An interesting thing to think about, though, is that perhaps marketeers should be lauded and not cursed. What do most marketeers do with all the inf they make? If what I've seen in this forum over the last few days is any indication, they sit on it. They are in essence one more currency sink in the game removing millions, or more, of inf from the market each day.
I'll also point out that smart marketeers (i.e. people other than me) often invest their inf by stockpiling valuable IOs. -
Quote:Opportunity cost. Spending the threads on unlocking the slots means you have fewer threads available to work on the next advancement (whether a new ability for a different slot off upgrading an existing ability). In every instance in which I have converted threads to iXP, I've already had at least a common enhancement crafted and I'm just waiting for the slot to unlock so I can slot it. Hell, I had a Rare Interface already crafted and waiting before I ever unlocked the slot to put it in on one of my scrappers.
Why would I want to run another trial to get that last 11% toward the slot when I can convert a few threads and unlock it now? Especially if I already have something crafted to put in it.
If your eventual goal is to get T4s in every slot then by the time you reach that point you will have earned way more than enough iXP through the trials to unlock the slots. Therefore spending threads on iXP is slowing down your progression towards T4s.
Now obviously there is the side argument that you derive "fun" from unlocking the slots earlier but from a strictly logical view there is no reason to spend threads on iXP. -
Quote:This is correct, SoAs get access to Patron Power Pools (once they unlock them anyway) but do not get Ancillary Power Pools. If by "power pools" you mean Ancillaries then no, VEATs don't have access to hero Ancillary pools at all.
Quote:And going Rogue wouldn't be enough to unlock them anyway. You have to go full hero or villain to gain access to Ancillary/Patron pools respectively (You also have to complete the Patron arc to unlock the Patron pools). -
That is correct. Cancel your current sub and then start a new one (it's a good idea to do this while you have some time left on your current sub in case the website decides you have a fraudulent credit card and you end up having to discuss things with customer service).

It really depends on what you have to sacrifice to get that last 12.5%. Soft-capping a character is nice but, espeically on a team, it's not always as useful as more recharge/offense.

Quote:Yes.... and no.edit: it's my belief that certain attacks do not count towards 'participation' still. Pets, Mastermind pets, targeted AoE all seem to reduce your likelyhood of rewards. Possibly damage taken as well. I notice my characters that are mostly punching things -always- get much better rewards.
You are correct that Pets, Pseudo Pets and Toggles do not count towards participation.
However, participation is binary either you get a component or you get 10 threads. The choice of component is random and is not dependent on personal participation. It is (probably) at least partially dependent on league success but not personal participation.
