Quote:Most Tankers are relatively low damage pre-Incarnate, even if slotted for damage output. They can solo (and certainly tend to die less than most ATs) but no slotting will make them do it anywhere near as fast as a Brute or Scrapper with the same budget. The main benefit Tankers have for soloing is that you can make them tough enough to handle large spawns much more cheaply than Scrappers or Brutes and it's cheaper to make the offense-oriented sets like Fiery Aura or Shield survivable. But the only tanks that will even come close to doing Scrapper level damage are things like Fire/Fire, which also has Scrapper level survivability. My Fire/Fire Tank plays a lot like a mid-range Scrapper in terms of damage and toughness... he's tougher than a /Fire Scrapper but not really tougher than a /Willpower or /Invulnerability and does damage similar to a Scrapper with a non-damaging armor set. But most Tanks do a lot less damage and are a lot tougher.
I totally agree, it is this survivability that caused me to answer the OP question on the best solo AT. And IMO the tanker is the best solo AT, I can slot it for good DPS, it is a learned process. Everyone has their reason for any AT so the only true answer is "it depends on your play style", try every AT because there are several reasons why any AT is the best to solo with. -
Quote:You can disagree if you wish, I stand by that they are team oriented, I did not say they could not solo. My first lvl 50 was a corr (all those years ago on first account) which was predominantly a solo toon. All of those are powerful comboes that solo well. And team well too. The solution of course is to make all three.
I can't stand solo tanks, their damage is way too low for my taste. And I disagree with you about those choices being team oriented, they are all good soloers.
If your tank is too low DPS I suggest another look at how you slot them. -
The choices you offer are support/team oreiented. My best solo'er was ice/ice tank (without taunt).

I am expecting no more twats can kick me just before Siege and NS go down just because they disagree with what I say.

RMT'ing is contra the EULA and therefore a petition offence. Rather than wait for a day I petition every RMT'er I witness and they are zapped by a GM usually within 2 mins, sometimes up to 10 mins. Use ignore as spammer, I don't care, I merely speed up the process. It is ok to do that.
Folk who wish to be the GM's email filters make me laugh. -
Time and time again I tell people to report them via support - ignoring as spammer will take days to resolve the problem.
Menu - R - copy and paste spam - mark as RMT'er. I guarantee that within 10 minutes that spammer will fade into the ether right before your eyes.
Anyone who complains about them and does not do this has no cause for complaint.
Edit ::: Make a badge available for being the first to report a spammer 200 times, 500 times and 1000 times. Spammers would then disappear from this game. -
Any chance of a bigger picture? I can't quite make it out!

I'm pretty sure this should be the next pet

Rubbish - it is well worth the 500 points I spent on it, and then - I consider the Halloween costume pack unworthy of 400 points so did not buy that but, this dog is ace and I bought it immediately.

Now, some aid to deal with this glaring issue. As others have mentioned, you can save and load GUI's via the Options menu. You can also use the "/wdw_load" and "/wdw_save" commands. The file that is saved & loaded, regardless of which method used, is called, "wdw.txt" and is stored in the CoH base directory.
Very useful and saved thanks for the tip. -

I will be sure to look in this thread tomorrow evening to see if a fix has happened. -
Yep - I'm getting this bug - I will just not play until I hear this pathetic, annoying game breaking bug is fixed.
I logged in with a toon to find the bug - I reset to my prefs - took an hours break after some respec fun and logged in to find the UI set to default again.
This needs sorting fast. -
I know dev's are fond of different currencies but, do we really need another new currency to perform another menial in game QOL function?
