True Raid Trial

Instead of all the missions where you know you are going to win (or should win) going in how about a true RAID where you know you can't win, the goal is to get in, achieve as many objectives as possible and get out before you get caught.

Think of raiders like Vikings where you land kill local resistance, grab everything no nailed down and have to escape before the real army arrives because you don't stand a chance in a stand up fight.

Picture the reactor trial where the attacking groups of mobs increase in number and level over time (with scripted AVs), there is a definite point where you have outstayed your welcome.

Combine that with a building that lets you decide if you want to move to the next instance of the building or end trial by all clicking on exit. If you go to next instance of building you have to achieve all objectives in that building then face the same decision again, another instance or run for it?

To end Trial everyone must click the EXIT (sorry no exit button) If less than 60% (or whatever) of original trial doesn't click EXIT you fail the whole trial and no reward.

If you exit successfully rewards are based on how many building instances your cleared. I can see right there competitions to see who can get a league through the most. But you also have the advantage that a small League is just as capable of doing the Trial, a smaller league just can't go for the bigger prizes.

This sounds like fun and a good excuse for some massive battles. Also it is a trial where some thought and planning helps but everyone doesn't have to have downloaded a script before they can play.

Yeah... I can see this having no potential for griefing whatsoever. ¬_¬

Uh...what?

That doesn't sound like fun. In fact, that sounds like the total antithesis of fun.

No. HELL no. /unsigned

The main problem is, as Blue Rabbit mentioned, the ease of griefing. Other than that it does sound like it would be a lot of fun (kind of like Keyes before it got nerfed).

A possible alternative for a similar feel with less griefing potential would be a last stand style trial where the goal is to hold off ever increasing waves of enemies for as long as possible.

You mean like in the first SSA 'Who Will Die ?'

...

You mean the same Vikings who took over and colonized parts of England? (Area of and around Yorkshire, known as the Danelaw.)

Wanted: Origin centric story arcs.
If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.

I'd love to see more content like Mayhems, with their dynamic time limit, the jail, side missions, etc. If they added more leveling trials like DFB, a failable one would be cool too, especially given how many people enjoy making preformed teams for them.

The end of Silver Mantis is a lot of fun too.

Okay sure.

Doubt you'd find too many people playing it though. Most people want to win, not lose in an impressive way.

In a 30+ person trial you are going to be griefed by 8 people? Got news for you they can do that now.

As I said only a certain percentage have to exit like 60% how they heck can any one person grief that that they couldn't do now?

Also as stated it is fairly easy to finish first level or so much like BAF/LAM. But you have the oppotunity to push your luck as a group.

Personally I find the die all you want we'll make more trials pointless. Likewise the I took over the facility but have to give up now because my mom is calling idea of rigidly timed trials doesn't impress me either. I'd rather there were consequences for running slow rather than automatic shutdown and possibly a chance for those who want to to push further.

In the above sentence, either your usage of pronouns, modal verbs and comparative forms is inadequate or my interpretation of them is wrong.

"Everyone must" indicates 100%. This does not compute with the less than 60% condition that comes after.

As evinced by multiple badge runs of Keyes (see bunkers, moving out of green stuff), Underground (see Desdy's escort leting her die, running ahead on bombs), Death From Below (see killing cadavers before Vahz boss) and so on, it's really easy for people to grief others out of rewards. And you ask how it would be possible to grief your idea?

On a team of 8, it would only take 3 people not exiting for the trial to fail. On a full League of 2, 6 people out of 16. It's not that unconceivable. And I don't mean it out of malice either. Some people just don't bother reading what's required of them.
