  1. Another thing I do (that isn't perhaps the most efficient way to do things) is build IO's in layers: starting with a regular origin build, I'll replace slots with Common IO's as I go, so as to have a solid foundation to play on while I'm working up the fancier Set IO's.
  2. What kind of available slot are we talking about? AGP, PCI or PCI-e?
  3. I start crafting level 15 IO's as soon as I get to level 12, if I can afford them at the time.
  4. Perhaps the most famous use of Howling Twilight was at a Hamidon raid where the "enemy" target was an Oil Slick.
  5. Wouldn't that reduce the popularity of the big events people have to do to get them the standard way?

...unless they're told otherwise. That's why Empathy players only get credit for healing aura and clear mind when it's probably the Fortification they cast on the melee player that turned the tide. That's why Kins are seen only in terms of Fulcrum Shift and Speed Boost when it's really Transfusion's Regeneration debuff that helped bring that AV down.

And that's why the team that saw the brute or scrapper wade through a sea of minions sneers at the stalker who took out the boss and his lieutenants before anyone could identify the obvious threat. They saw the other melee types take on the visual majority of the spawn and assumed the boss was in there as well.
    Ah, well spoken, sir!
  7. I just repurposed a double-Dark Brute as a Night Widow (from an alternate dimension where the Widows of Wrack Noss weave the power of the Netherworld instead of wielding claw and poison). Instead of Mask Presence, I'll use Cloak of Darkness; instead of Placate, I'll use Touch of Fear; I'll likely work out other odd parallels. I won't be doing critical hits, but I'll have Fury instead, a good trade-off.

    I recently added a repurposed double-Dark Corruptor as a Huntsman, and a Necro/Dark Mastermind as a Crab.

    That is a sig-worthy quote.

Ok, that sounds like removing Brawl from other problematic ranged pets probably wouldn't work.
  11. Don't do a tourney, instead, hold a costume contest in a PVP zone.

That's a great concept rationalization. Good job.

Agreed; in my initial delusion, I didn't take into account animation times, and was hoping that a jab-only attack "chain" would be hideously wonderful. This has turned into an interesting thread though; thanks to everyone for the analysis.

    Taunt?

I love to put a damage proc in Taunts. heh.
  15. The devs could placate the soulless marketing drones by designing their own character export format (maybe using XML, with enhanced export that includes character bio, badge list and other goodies) and then Mid's could come out with a compatibility update.

    Ah, crud, you're right.
  17. I probably won't run my design for real, but the idea of a Brute jabbing two times per second was pretty compelling to me. It's a speed bag boxing workout. heh.

It sure was good for my morale the first time I saw that happen (I returned to the AT after a long absence to run a Stalker in Praetoria).
  19. So you could work on maintaining Fury with Brawl during the crash, since Brawl doesn't need to hit to generate Fury, right?
  20. I thought the Buzzsaw concept was mainly about the shortest and fastest attack chain.

I can get Knockout Blow down to around six and a half seconds, but after that, I'd seem to need multiple attacks as attack chain fillers. Hmmm....
  21. Has anyone figured out how to design a buzzsaw brute with permanent double-stacked Rage? I've only managed to get Rage down to 63.9 seconds (and Jab down to 0.57 seconds) by fiddling around in Mid's.

Yep, you could also exceed the granularity of the game engine and accidentally run through walls (I've seen this kind of thing happen in various Elder Scrolls games, for example).
