Im leveling a dp/mm blaster in Praetoria.
He is lvl 12, and dying a lot...
When you guys went with your dp to Primal Earth, your characters still suck and keep dying or is just in Praetoria with those hard and nasty mobs?
I think the damage is WEAK

Praetoria is pretty hard on squishies, especially low damage squishies.

Your problem with DP/MM in Praetoria is most likely 50% DP/50% Praetoria.

Grab swap ammo ASAP, and always use fire bullets, then do your best to not get into melee. If that isnt working, craft some temp powers (the hand grenades do good AoE damage, and KB, the stun grenades have a decent duration, and you can get a self heal temp power too) from the market (called the trading center or something in praetoria)

Those should help you out quite abit.

Oh, and use your immobilize from your secondary on LTs or higher to keep em at range, i find it works wonders on Ghouls too.

I'd bet the problem is Destroyers and Seers. Best tactic is just to buy a tray full of purple insps from the nurse before you head back from the hospital.

Just grab hover and kill them from range or while you're hovering over their heads. It's surprisingly effective in Praetoria. Only the PPD has -fly.

To be fair, Destroyer bosses will pelt you with anti-aircraft boulders every few seconds.

It's not enough to kill you, and you can outdamage them from range very easily. I have an energy/energy hover blaster that is level 14 and she easily solo cleared the Luke Larson arc which is full of Destroyers. The arc includes the annoying (difficult) mission where you're breaking up a meeting between the Destroyers and the Resistance as a Blast Master ambush happens about every minute while on the map.

I haven't faced off against the tougher EBs on this character yet, but nothing I've seen leads me to believe that this strategy isn't anything but effective. I've also put through 5 other characters through the Praetorian content so I have a good idea of what I'm up against.

Oh, gods. I remember that mission with the continual Blast Master ambushes. You think that was hard on a Blaster? Try a Stalker. Those stupid fire patches...

Anyway, yes, from what I've seen, quite a lot of Praetorian content would be very easy from the air, but there would be quite a few really brutal EBs along the way. I'm thinking the Aspect of Praetor Tilman, Vanessa DeVore, Seer 0001...

Hmm... sensing a pattern. Avoid powerful psychics if you can.

as an option to hover, the tier-1 jet pack temp power only costs a pittance to craft (for some confusing reason it is listed in the middle on the auction house interface). This way you can use the strategy from level 2 onward and not use up a power pick. =)

Burn a bit more endurance though.

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

I just wanted to say that the Nurse Inspiration merchant in hospitals is probably my favorite quality of life improvement from Going Rogue.

Such a shame the old world hospitals weren't altered to add 'em, though.
