I will be going for DP/Kin and DP/Dark. For me, Scourge will make up for redraw.
-
Already made it to 50 on iMaid, so I'm jumping on the merry-go-round again this time with a Thugs/Traps named Mod Broad. Two sets I have yet to try.
It's been a lovely ride so far. Traps is a lot less aggravating than I thought it would be for some reason. (Then again, Acid Mortar makes everything better).
Got to 18. Yay Gang War!
And also...the arsonist.
WTH. I had heard about this guy, but I had not *known*.
Nice damage, but.....Is he *supposed* to be this charge-into-melee aggro happy? Or is this a bug? He's NOT a brute!
He's embarrassing the heck out of me farming my Marshall Brass Shivan mission - and I'm on the map by MYSELF.
*goes off to rezsummon the idiot, AGAIN*
Any advice for handling this guy, besides 'don't bother getting too protective?' -

As the player of my beloved iMaid, Bots/Dark, I have one thing to day:
Howling Twilight. Slot it up, USE IT. Drop it in the middle of a mob and set yer bots on aggressive. Things just don't survive it for very long.
Rezzing is an afterthought for this lovely, lovely power on MMs.
I've never had a need for Black Hole when I have a cone fear that comes up a lot and a hold for when you just don't want to deal with spawn X or mob Y. Heck, two holds after I took GW.... -
The stuff I abuse:
Sleeves. If I make a female character, she pretty much has to wear bell sleeves.
Goggles over some sort of full face mask. Before The Science Pack, I would use the Watcher glasses (I think that's their name- the big metallic oval ones with the angular ear pieces) And then came the Science pack...omg, was a godsend.
The metal belt with the colored stone in it.
Disco bottoms.
Supernatural Face 1 is a favorite, but then I think I'm beginning to like face 20 as well.
Used to be obsessed with Wild hair; then came Mimee and Formal and Shimmer and...oy.
Combat boots.
Oh, and using the Tights option on boots to make full-body suits! -
I've been looking for a guide on that - hope to hear you share your insights, cause I have yet to run into another MA/SD besides me when I play. People seem surprised when they don't see me haul out a sword, doncha know.
-
I'm A2K and I've been on a scrapper streak lately, drifting rather far from the defenders/controllers I usually play. They're all on Virtue and Freedom for the most part.
My main scrapper, Mr. Kilroy, is MA/SR and at 41, but he's on the shelf until the new animations come through; he's meant to be a brawler.
One I've put to the side is Rani Royal, my Katana/WP. She's at 40, and no I dunno why. Maybe I'll pick her up.
Androktasia is my current love, and she's 38. - why did no one tell me that BS was just that awesome?
When the difficulty/mob changes come through in the next issue, she'll be first to try that.
I also have Hexblade and Bishonen Knife, my DB/WPs, currently in their 20s, and so much fun. Also in their twenties I have Rider Midori and Rider Murasaki, both MA/Shield with a Kamen Rider theme going there.
And then there's Mourning Musume, my baby Claws/DA. Just not getting the hang of DA yet for some reason (A2K, it's called YOU NEED END REDUXES IN EVERYTHING) but she's gonna grow.
'
My latest experiment is Ophanus, a fire/fire scrapper, still very wee but I'll come back to her very soon.
I admit it. Scrapperlock is a *sickness*, I swear. -
I've been working on three blasters. (I usually play controllers, defenders, and scrappers, so this is a whole new experiment for me)
Purrmafrost - ice/ice, currently 23
Aria 51, sonic/mental, currently 17
And I just made Heckblazer - fire/mental, and he's at 20.
Purr I know will get better, but I have to get used to being more of a single target type of blaster on her and she's controllery, so I can cope with that.
Heck is just plain fun out of the box, particularly when there's a controller or tank to bunch the mobs while he brings the pain.
Aria...I dunno. I like her, but there's something I'm missing. I might have to reroll her and change her secondary to Eng.
My main issue? Learning that it's okay to RUN LIKE HECK. :P -
Oh gods. Mapserving twice in the last Posi mission and then a LONG 'serve right as we find the last mob - I was ready to kill the server last night
-
Quote:I dunno, Radio's text makes me laugh *every* time. There's gems through all the levels villainside. Also, try to get the bling badge pre-25 for Doc Buzzsaw - a fun mad-scientist type contact.
Includes one of the best quotes in the game, I think.
Same way I always try to get the Nemesis Staff mission just so I can see "Word up, my homies, as it were."
It's just *golden* no matter how many times I see it. -
I found plenty of teams outside of AE and ran two TFs Sunday night, so no, your experience is not the norm
And yes, this was on Virtue. -
Okay, the Let's Save All the Lawyers from the DE on the office map and Let's Save All The Magicians from the CoT in Oranbega? Those two right there are my kryptonite no matter what I'm running.
Madame of Mystery - good call there. -
Ice Blaster - 11-23
Fire Blaster - 1-20 (two TFs back to back will do that)
Didn't level the one I really wanted to, though - my baby fire/fire scrapper remains at 6. -
My current favorite name is Heckblazer, my teenage fire/mm blaster. And yes, his name's a nod to John Constantine, but that's as far as it goes!

I gotta go with the OP. I dislike grouping with MMs. (especially Thugs MMs). That said, having a top quality player at the helm makes a huge difference.
Here's a few things you can do that will make you less reviled.
- in a full group, don't bother summoning your tier one pets - they are probably just going to get in the way. When the inevitable SHTF (stuff hits the fan) moment occurs, pull them out. They will arrive in defensive mode and save your hiney.
Quote:- Keep your pets on Ignore. That way, when the Corrupter who can't sit still snipes some guy and he responds with an AOE attack, your pets don't go tearing off across the room and screw up the pull.
Quote:- During the fight, keep your guys on Ignore. This allows YOU to control who they are damging.
Quote:- You know those attack powers you have in your primary. Save those powers for soloing. They do next to no damage. Using them will only result in some enraged mob punching you in the face.
Quote:Since your guys are not in Defensive mode, you can't afford to be punched in the face.
Quote:- Do not assist the Brute. He does not want (or need) your help.
Quote:- Focus on the mobs that are standing off and using ranged attacks. See that guy off to the side healing mobs. Kill him. Let the Brute deal with the scrum.
Quote:- When the Brute bites off more than he can chew and goes down in a hail of gunfire. That is your moment to shine. Forget everything I just said and save the day. Then heap scorn on the brute. Mock him as he begs you for a 'green or an orange' so he can make a wakie. Then give him the green, and rez him before he can combine them. Then mock him some more.
TY.
<---bots/dark, and proud of it.
There's a reason I tend to solo, people I run into like this.... -
Oh, the ASN.
I need to take my 39 scrapper in there. Or is she 40? Dang.
Just going down there to find that one wall placard.... *twitch* -
They usually don't fly in missions, true, but the Indigo Flying Sapper ambush I had above Crey's Folly...oh yes, they've always been able to fly.
-
Gah, I forgot them myself....can't tghink of any of my characters that *needed* a respec, though.

I would have to say my Tanker Mountainheart. It embodies everything about him. His powers (WP/SM), his size, his temperment, birthplace. I spent nearly a month picking out the name. Once I decided on Mountainheart everything about the character just clicked into place. He's level 49 and he still only has the once costume.
[/ QUOTE ]
Same with all my fave characters. They have one costume, and that's the only one you'll ever see 'em in. -
Probably...
Accelle
iMaid (and her little sister iMaid Nano)
Hexblade
Defenestration Lass
Armageddonna
Purrmafrost
And there are a few others I consider cool, but altitis keeps me from remembering ALL their names. -

A female wearing powered armor.
A male wearing really big powered armor.

A little boy (slot one) summoning and riding in GIANT POWERED ARMOR (slot two) -

That and the Wolf's Throat, get's 'em every time.
[/ QUOTE ]
oh, I remember the screams of frustration on the global/local channels over that one....! -
[ QUOTE ]
Did you remember to turn off Sprint?
[/ QUOTE ]
That's usually what hoses me in the early levels, yep.
Actually, what powersets are you using, I'm curious.
