Quote:I just read that, it was pretty lame. His complaints were all based on similarities with other movies, and it makes me wonder if he has ever read a comic. If anyone cares, here is cracked's take on the trailer.
-
I will pick it up for a few of my friends for Christmas presents I think.
-
I think it looks like what it was meant to be, a fun movie. There are times I want to just stand up after watching a movie and say "That was cool." No thought provoking story, no deep ending, just plain fun. This movie looks like plain fun...I am sure I am wrong though. There seems to be an aversion to making fun movies these days.

I would love to have weather effects, but not if I had to sacrifice more costume options.
IT is not a mater of immersion for me, I just would like it. One thing I do know, every MMO that I have played that did have weather had serious lag spikes when it was weathering. It would need to be something that could be disabled. If you get near Antimatter's power plants in Praetoria you can see ash in the air, so it can be done, they just choose not to.
Before anything else cosmetic, I want to be able to change the color of Hasten. Pool customization should never have been left out. Also, I would NOT want to weather to affect my powers in any way. -
The reason the very glowing, near cartoon like effects, and costumes don't bother me is that they are not truly physical even in the comic. The mask, and the costume are all energy constructs of the ring, and the glow makes sense.
I think the movie is going to be good, and Hal in this is no different than in the Cartoon New Frontier, or in GL first flight. In the comic, the older and wiser Hal is a bit more serious, but in the beginning he wasn't. Even in the early comics he wasn't, it wasn't until the writers started using GL and GA for political statements in the late 60s and early 70s that GL took a more serious shift.
The civilian world has always viewed fighter pilots as cocky and larger than life. So, the writers portrayed him that way. Take a look at The Right Stuff or Top Gun to see the same thing. The former would even be in the correct era for the early GL comics.
All in all, I think the trailer was good. I think the movie will be good too.
Edit: Watched it again, many of the effects (like the ships) have a polished effect as good as any CG I have seen. -
Humm, I love this game, and this is something I have day dreamed about a lot. These are in no particular order. Some of this I get were tech issues, but some if it I have gathered from dev statements was just bad design from the start. I am sure there is even more than I have listed here, and I just can't remember.
Left IH a toggle (this will always be the worst change in the history of this game).
Given Willpower the Dull Pain power instead of Fast Healing. Fits better thematically I think.
Added particle effects to the custom weapons selection. Flaming sword please.
Running on water, instead of super swimming.
Multiple animations for powers from the start.
Weapon customization from the start.
Power Color Customization from the start.
Weather Effects, I really hate that there is always a clear sky in Paragon city.
Under Water areas
Mobs in the water
More colors on the color pallet
Had statues appear of player characters (even if only their account can see them)
In game advertising (sorry guys, I thought it was a good idea)
NOT cut my primary game's staff to 15 people.
Used an increasing end usage mechanism for t9 powers instead of a crash mechanism. The old QF for PBs worked like that.
More costume items. I would have put two or three in every issue.
Offline costume creator
More costume slots
Signature power or costume option at lvl 50. Hitting 50 is very anti climatic.
More realistic sized environment. Praetoria solved this.
Destructible environment, everywhere. -
Great Post TonyV. I made a similar statement in the f2p thread.
-
What I like most about Electric armor is using my end drain. It is so fun to beat on mobs while they stand there looking at you.
-
I remember the glory days, and other than regen I like now better. I like being able to run all of my DA toggles at one time.
-
I will change them as I play them, but for a few that may be a long long time.

Quote:I would say the servers not going down at 8am is a "no go" from the devs.A "go-no-go" from the developers would be nice.
Although if the development team is anything like the one I work on the programmers just stumbled home a few hours ago after a final heroic push to fix every outstanding bug.
Which means a program manager is grilling an intern right now as to the state of the release while futily trying to contact comatose technical leads.
The Kheldian bug seems to have been solved by the last patch by the way. -
Never know, I have known people to take voluntary layoff before. If he had a job lined up, and he knew he could save someone else a job, he may have volunteered.
Chances we will never know unless he does an interview (which I doubt), and even then he may be under contract not to discuss it.
Now for my part, I don't think he did leave by choice, but I do think he had a heads up because of how fast he found a job.
I am glad he is employed, I hate that he went to work for them. -
I remember that as the age of Jack promising things that he couldn't deliver. I also remember it as the days of nerfdom.
I think we got a better system by it waiting. -
That is the worst review I have ever read. I can not express how much I disagree with it.

I don't think that guy was the skin walker alpha, just a higher up.
I also will admit I am underwhelmed with the Alpha plot line. It is odd that they haven't told Cas about Crowley's plan. If he is trying to grab another realm, I would assume he plans to go to war with Heaven, so he can flank them while they are in the midst of a civil war.
I love this show, but I am starting to think it may should have ended last season. -
Still loving it, really in places it is better than the comic was.
As far as him sawing his hand off, that was stupid on his part. The bold was rusty, and I think that would have been faster than the hand, also cutting that radial artery would have killed him unless a tourniquet was on it before hand. I have seen people with amputated hands live, but that tents to be because the artery was somehow closed in the process, closed in a way that a hack saw would not cover. Yeah, the rusty U-bolt would have been faster and wiser.
Now, there is a chance he didn't think of that because he was coming down from some chemical high, and was not in his right mind. -
My wife is a huge Smallville fan. I almost got a comic con trip this year because she wanted to meet Erica. So, I watch the show every Friday (and several times during the week). I mean this woman follows blog sites, and every thing she can find about the show.
For me, I am really at the point where I am tired of them using Kryptonite what seems like every episode. I would just like to see him kick some butt. Makes my wife happy, so I will keep watching it.
This coming week looks really good with the return of Aquaman. The show really hits it's peek with the cameos, and with the romance between Lois and Clark. I always felt the comic lacked a bit when it came to what was suppose to be their epic love, or it was one sided any way. -
Whoever it is, he hasn't decided to come talk to us. I think David is doing all of the communication for the art department now.
-
I was on the first run Leo was referring to, and I would have never known he was unslotted if he hadn't told us. His heals, and buffs functioned all the same. The -4 (-8) seems to only mater for hitting, and damage, both yours, and theirs.

Quote:What it really does is make that 1-20 content fun, and not tedious.Inherent Fitness isn't God-mode you know. It makes life easier sure, but at the end of the day you still have to plan your builds smart and you still have to play the game.
I take fly at lvl 6 for two reason. First I can hit "R" and chat from point A to point B. Second I a not that great about paying attention to raptor pack timers, and I have had them run out on me several times.
Some times I do vary travel powers for concept, but I still tend to take one. Well, I didn't on my Ninja, I just used NR, but I will add SJ to him in i19 I think. -
In one lgtf (kill to objective) I had 8-10 shards drop every time. The TF took under 2 hours, even killing everything we came across. With a little time it is not hard to get shards.

After you play them you will see that is not the case. They auto spawn at lvl 54, and the AVs in them are an experience like nothing else in the game.
