  1. May I suggest Blueside Pocket D on Virtue?

    There's always plenty of...content...there .
  2. A few points
    • The Anniversary event was a great test of the server capability and pointed out where we need to make some adjustments. Any sort of "lag" (said in quotes because it's a generic term that players use to describe a number of things) wasn't necessarily on the server itself. There's a lot of technical mumbo jumbo that explains it, but I'm not the guy to do so. We're actually going to be raising the queue numbers significantly (as we did with the Freedom anniversary event), again, because the server itself is very capable of handling it.
    • To designate Freedom, Virtue, Union or any existing server would be unfair to the other servers.
    • To designate an existing server as a VIP server would be counter productive to one of the stated goals of City of Heroes Freedom, which is to allow former players the opportunity to come back and play with their friends either as VIP (preferable ) or Premium.
We've been very pleased with the sentiment that many (I might even go so far as to say most) players have expressed; They have no interest in moving to the VIP server because they want to play with their old friends and the new players. Most players seem to be viewing the VIP server as "bonus slots" which is just fine by us.

We are not giving any sort of special incentive to playing on the VIP server, it's simply there as an option, if you so chose to exercise it .
  3. My normal form is usually that of a Clockwork Magician...I'm sure there's screenshots floating around somewhere out there

No time to play anything aside from COH these days. I've still got several PS3 games sitting on my shelf unopened.

And thanks...a regimen of Ultimate Frisbee twice a week and cardio every other day has been helping with the weight loss.

    I Knew It!

No trouble to be had there, and honestly, I look back at the film with fond memories because it not only opened a lot of doors for me but also introduced me to the filmmakers whom we all remain friends with to this day.

    No regrets whatsoever.
  6. Thanks, as always, for putting this together for the Community VK .
  7. - Warning: Pregnant women, the elderly, and children under 10 should avoid prolonged exposure to Gigantic Vanguard Sword.
    - Caution: Gigantic Vanguard Sword may suddenly accelerate to dangerous speeds.
    - Gigantic Vanguard Sword contains a liquid core, which, if exposed due to rupture, should not be touched, inhaled, or looked at.
    - Do not use Gigantic Vanguard Sword on concrete.
    - Discontinue use of Gigantic Vanguard Sword if any of the following occurs:
    • itching
    • vertigo
    • dizziness
    • tingling in extremities
    • loss of balance or coordination
    • slurred speech
    • temporary blindness
    • profuse sweating
    • heart palpitations
    - If Gigantic Vanguard Sword begins to smoke, get away immediately. Seek shelter and cover head.
Gigantic Vanguard Sword may stick to certain types of skin.
    - When not in use, Gigantic Vanguard Sword should be returned to its special container and kept under refrigeration. Failure to do so relieves the makers of Gigantic Vanguard Sword, Paragon Studios, and its parent company, NCsoft, of any and all liability.
    - Ingredients of Gigantic Vanguard Sword include an unknown glowing substance which fell to Earth, presumably from outer space.
    - Gigantic Vanguard Sword has been shipped to our troops in Saudi Arabia and is also being dropped by our warplanes on Iraq.
    - Do not taunt Gigantic Vanguard Sword.
    - Gigantic Vanguard Sword comes with a lifetime guarantee.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll be sure to pass it along
  8. You left one out:

    Random food talk.
  9. To give a bit of insight,

We'd most certainly love to do this, however each of those Community billboards is placed by hand into the game world, thus requiring production time. As you may imagine, our production calendar is pretty full up at the moment, but we'll certainly take the sentiment into consideration for future builds.

    Thanks!

    - Z
  10. We're going to need a lot more fruit baskets
  11. At this time we don't have any plans on reviving the in game billboards for real life products, although we had considered approaching In-N-Out for a lifetime burger deal....

    Just kidding ...kinda
  12. Coyote is present in the new tutorial.

    Thanks

Actually, the new Freedom announcement artwork is not David's work. The Comic Book panels are.
  15. Thanks for your feedback regarding the new loading screens. We are extremely excited about these panels you've been shown and are eagerly anticipating being able to show you the rest of the comic when Issue 21 launches. I have been speaking with Noble Savage, El Topo and Second Measure regarding some of your concerns, and we certainly understand some of the viewpoints being expressed in this thread.

A few things we can clarify really quickly:
    • Back Alley Brawler is being illuminated by a gigantic fiery meteor of doom, which at it's position is akin to being a light source as bright as the sun. As such the lighting has a bit of a bright orange hue to it, which has been saturated to an extent. There's definitely no intent of changing skin tone.
    • Sister Psyche's expression is one of both shock and fear, which we consider an appropriate reaction to an apocalyptic storm of death and destruction hurtling at her from above. As a member of the Freedom Phalanx, nothing short of a world threatening event could evoke this kind of reaction from her.

The above being said, we have been paying attention to your thoughts. We'll be making some very subtle adjustments to the image which address these concerns while still preserving its artistic integrity.

We're very excited to be exploring this new artistic direction with City of Heroes Freedom. This style of comic book is something that's considered new and cutting edge to many comic book enthusiasts and we're stoked to be leading the way among Super Heroic MMO's in evolving our style to embrace it.

Can you please give us any more info, Zwill? Which server, how the players react, etc.? That sort of stuff may not tell us much, but since I couldn't be there, it'd be fun to read.
I prefer not to put words in the mouths of the players who ran the arc with me . If they wish to chime in here, I certainly encourage it.

As previously mentioned in my post, this particular time was on Protector. We plan on keeping it rather spontaneous as that's part of the fun . We'll always try to make it during Prime Time though, time permitting.
  17. So for this Mission Architect Thursday we played Arc #60197 - Becky's Revenge.

It was, like, totally awesome, fer sure.

Have you played this arc before? What did you think? Thanks for the fun Protector!

Note: this isn't necessarily the Dev Choice arc, just letting you all know which one we played .

Don't forget to keep nominating Arcs!

    Thanks everyone!

We're not currently discussing specific items included in the new Paragon Market (outside of the specific examples we've already provided) however you can rest assured that there will be a wide variety of items available for purchase using your Paragon Points, much of which will be included automagically with your VIP subscription, if you so chose.

For those wondering about the amount of content that will be included with your VIP subscription: One of our constantly stated goals of the VIP program is to provide more value and more content to our players for the same monthly cost. An added benefit of this is the sheer amount of content we're producing is also increased .

Thanks to everyone who's been following this conversation since day one and are continuing to point folks new to the discussion towards previously provided answers. There's most definitely more information coming down the pipe in the coming weeks that everyone's going to want to hear about .

I'm pretty sure I actually said "We're working on it" and Positron said something about SDCC .
