ONLY SENTIENT BEINGS WITH SOULS CAN TYPE IN ALL CAPS! FPARNWNS!

Indeed. Most of their Help Wanted postings said they preferred folk who were already CoH players. Only a few of the rednames ever said they weren't previously CoH players... the majority proudly announced they were.

Quote:They went from this: hardly anyone can play a Jedi and those that make it never knew exactly how (most likely required a random roll to keep total numbers low); to this: everyone is a Jedi. Both horrible systems, but, the first system, in absence of Jedis, had a very deep skills, crafting, and role-playing environment which got trampled in the transition. And since they upset the role-playing base for a new system that wasn't any better... pandemonium. Subs dropped dramatically and the game closed down. What happened at SWG that has everyone so turned against Sony, anyway?
The most perfect example of not listening to the players you can find. -
At the time Atari sold CO off, they stated that it wasn't profitable (even after they said that the F2P model increased revenue 1,000%!). Besides, everyone knows that Atari bought Cryptic for the rights to Star Trek, which they assumed would be another WOW because a Star Trek IP is a license to print money, right? They couldn't care less about CO.
At the time that PW bought CO, they kept saying it was to establish a presence in the Western gaming market -- they didn't say anything about making money from CO.
Sorry, didn't save the quotes. -
My computer graphics is high end and easily handled the max draw number of critters.
The server only slowed down a little bit... as much as in any other full MSR.
We didn't break the server! Darn! I'll get you next time, Freedom!! -
Perfect World runs CO at a loss. Knowingly so because they want to have a presence in the Western gaming market. Owning both titles could only help them.

Quote:Hello, Mr. Pebble, this is Betty from NCSoft HR, before I process your Human Resources complaint, I've been reviewing your file and what your co-workers have been saying and I need to ask you first of all: Are you human?HOW is this still NOT an HR violation??
Or at least the Geneva Convention?

When all you whipersnappers were changing your name to include 'Lemur' or somesuch nonsense, I was the one that made a throw-away free account and stole Cheita Corps' name.
Your friend, The Green Lantern -
The costumes for Empyrean Michael and Astral Christy are directly my design (except her hair color).
The revamp of the Black Helicopter and Ferry lines in the Rogue Isles.
Proliferate all the things! I think I kept that alive by rallying the troops to have Positron support or continue to support that as a game design goal despite the fact that Castle and Arcanaville weren't for it (Sorry, A! ) and those two could have collectively turned the tide against it.
Bunny tails and kilts for males. There was a time when Jay and some of the boys at Cryptic were dead set against anything that remotely smacked of cross-gender anything. I think I rallied the troops to change that sexist attitude with those and similar pieces, and again a few years later with the whole female-version-of-costume-set-is-trollopy-corsets debacle.
I was honored to be invited early or be in the first wave of nearly every round of Closed Beta. There were countless ideas suggested by me and many other players which the Devs reacted immediately to. In one round of Closed Beta, the Devs asked for suggestions for friends to test out the new iTrials since a large cohesive group was needed. I used that opportunity to not only get in all of Virtue raid leaders, but also all the Wiki, Titan, and Mids people so that they could have a head start on doing their things. Also, to let Arcanaville in... and now I know why she wasn't. -
Was Paragon Studios closed for lack of a script?!

Quote:I'd like to come out and say that I was never a Cryptic/Paragon/NCSoft employee, despite guesses and accusations as such. Also, no employee ever fed me inside info... though a few times they were guilty of letting on more than they should when corresponding with me, which was only a handful of times.Said this in Virtue forums but will say it here. For the past 2 years I worked at Paragon Studios. I couldnt say it before but now I can.
And I never really bugged their offices.
Or did I? -

Note that Champions Online is losing money. Its parent company is keeping it afloat as a loss leader so as to get a toehold in the MMO market in North America.
On a purely financial evaluation, it should have been put down two years ago.
Maybe its parent company can buy CoH and have a profitable toehold instead? -
Quote:thanks, bab for the info! hope all is well with you!Again...I am working at Cryptic as we speak, and I have not heard the slightest peep about this. To be honest, little is said about CoH these days other than to marvel over some new piece of tech and comment 'Didn't we have this in the CoH engine like 8 years ago?'
It would be very unfair to go on some sort of anti-Cryptic or anti-Champions Online campaign based on unsubstantiated rumors. NCSoft chose to end this game we all love, shutter Paragon Studios, and release their dedicated team of talented people into the wild. I have no idea why, but as far as I know it has nothing to do with Cryptic/Perfect World. -

10 Astrals or 2 Empyreans. -
