  1. I'd love to see more animation variants for powers over seeing Scrappers get SS.
  2. Gods in comics is a very loose term. Especially Ares. There are plenty of beings out there that are equal to and exceed majority of the Gods in the Marvel universe.

I was wondering if the Kismet would be needed or not since I would be running Tactics. Thanks for the suggestions/tips.

Spider-man has actually performed a hand clap before. Granted it is nothing to the level of the Hulks of the Thing, but he has done it in the past.

Another Scrapper that could be named is Gladiator and/or Sentry.

    DM/SD Scrapper

I haven't toyed with PvP here in CoX as of yet. But I keep getting requests for Arena fights etc as well as other things. When I was playing Star Wars Galaxies I pvp'd all the time. Just have not been sure on if I want to get into that here. My main is a DM/SD Scrapper who tears it up. I love playing him for PvE, but from what I have heard/read is that SD builds are not that great for hardcore pvp.

The build I am thinking about setting up would be strictly for what yall call Fight Clubbin. Just arena fights (or zone) against other melee. Now that does not mean I won't throw down with anyone else. It's just that this one build I want just for melee. I'd most likely use my other build for anything else.

    SD/SS build?

I'd go with Energy Mastery over Pyre if not just for the reason SS is a end hog (imo) so Conserve Power and Physical Perfection come in handy.

  10. I've recently been talking to a few friends in game about starting to PvP. I've never done it here in CoH. But when I was playing Star Wars Galaxies I got pretty hardcore into it. There's about 6 of us who are interested in it. Some of it as a change of pace, some to get certain recipes, others just for the action. I might try and set up TC to come check it out. Won't be this month though.
  11. I do have another question. If I run Tactics all the time, would I still need the Kismet unique? Or could if be replaced with the resistance pvp recipe down the road. Also what exactly is the Panacea recipe do? It says +Hp/End but I don't see it modify my numbers any when slotted.
  12. Andferne

    Stone/Dark Melee

Toyed with it some more and got Negative to 89.2%. Been pouring over sets and I guess I keep missing them. But what are some sets I could try and work with to increase my Energy resistance?

I would like to try and get this guy to max resistances while keeping soft cap. Or as close to possible without breaking into PvP recipes or too many purples.

I'm not sure how end sustainable I'll be.
With my build I run Tactics all the time and never have end problems. That's without using dark consumption as a end booster too. The times I get low I just pop conserve power and problems solved. I run a Praetorian Demon farm at +3/x8 and move from mob to mob without having to stop or rest between mobs.

What I like about Leaderships ones too is that it helps my team mates to. The times I might group or help others level.

Rooted would be turned on and off as needed for movement.

What sucks is he has 221% Recovery

So far from what I've seen even with Rage double stacked he is doing less damage than my DM/SD Scrapper by a good amount. The time it takes me to go through one mob on my Tanker at +0/x8 I would of gone through 2-3 on my Scrapper at +3/x8. With bosses.
  17. Only suggestion I really have would be to get the Kismet unique and slot it in your Grant Cover instead of just a end reduction. That 6% goes a long way in my opinion.

On a side note. I hate all of you who have the PvP recipe. xD
    jk
  18. I'm not sure if I want SS for my Scrapper. I just got a SS/SD Tanker to 50 and almost have him fully slotted out (save last few purples I need) and he eats through End like there's no tomorrow.

It's insanely expensive, and comes at the cost of actually being able to fight at a reasonable level. You're much better off building for run speed and recharge.
I definitely don't want to get into PvP sets with this guy. Save the two sets of purples, most of this stuff is pretty easy for me to obtain through my farming.

What is considered to be a good Run speed to get? With the build I posted recently it has 2 bonuses from Aegis and then has 4 Gift of the Ancients (something like +40%). It's recharge is only 7.5% and I could keep it at that or switch that out that LotG recharge for another Gift of the Ancients. Also thought about switching Siphon Life with Touch if Nictus to get Neg res to 83.5%.

So I have decided to toy with this idea again. Been trying to find a way to keep Defenses soft capped and get Resistances maxed out. I've been able to get them into the 80's but that's about it, while keeping Defense soft cap.

  22. I can't speak for Dark Armor or Spines as I have not played or toyed with them. But I really like Dark Melee. The Smite, Siphon Life, Midnight Grasp combo is fun and I find myself tearing through things with it.

I have a DM/SD which is absolutely love and even at a +3/x8 I burn through the mobs like they are nothing. Jump in and strike the boss with Midnight Grasp and then Siphon Life while Against all Odds builds up (saturates I believe is the term used here). Then hit Soul Drain and Shield charge to take out majority (if not all) the mob. Run your attack chain against the boss once maybe twice more through and it's dead.

Also have a DM/Inv but he is only at level 42 right now. So far I enjoy playing him, get a lot higher resistance than a SD build. I do find it harder to kill mobs at a fast pace without the shield charge though. Survivability is really good though. What damage you do take can be quickly healed with spamming Siphon Life. It is also possible to get a really good (even soft capped) Defenses while keeping a 60-70% Resistance.

Solo is the problem part now. Since I've 'suped' up my DM/SD to where he is now. I constantly have invites to teams or people around to help (It be leveling, GMs, AVs, Raids, etc). So when I do go farming now a days it's at +3/x8 for better Xp to help others. Can't complain though, when I first came back to playing this game I only had one 'friend' and since then considerably more. lol

One of my concerns is that I am loving this build so much, that I feel like everything else will just be a disappointment. I hope my SS/SD Tanker turns out to be pretty fun like this guy. Otherwise I will of wasted around 2 billion or more influence.

Yeah I've gone through and gotten all the Accolades that give a End and/or Health bonus. Unless there are new ones I am not aware of. I've read the guide, or glanced through it. But I just hate playing the market. Thanks for the help on the build. Maybe one day(year) I'll afford it. :P
  25. This is something else I am curious about, and was going to make a thread about soon. I'm currently building up a Tanker SS/SD who has a really high recharge rate to where Rage would not only be Perma, but double stacked for a good duration. My questions was much the same, but also would the benefits from Rage stack? (accuracy and damage boost). Was also wondering what is considered to be a good Recovery for End, and a good amount of Regen.

For those curious this is what the build looks like.
