  1. I actually prefer having classes that are useless at certain things and excel at others, it makes teamwork vital and in a social game thats what I'm looking for.
  2. I have far more heroes than villains, but it isn't about good vs bad, its about teaming vs soloing. I prefer the social element and villain side ATs just feel much more suited to soloing, they don't need each other. Perhaps with the new Going Rogue thing I'll be spending more time villain side.
  3. You want to be the end boss and throw dozens of minions at he hero, play Evil Genius.
  4. I do hope that they are not diverting resources but I'm glad the ideas you list below are NOT part of and are hopefully not coming to City of Heroes.

    1. Cross-Platform: Nothing ruins a PC game, and especially a MMO style of game, like hooking it up to the game machine market. That other recent superhero game is a case in point.

    2. Underwater zone, especially with swimming abilities would flat out suck. And it would take up valuable resources as well. I much prefer the idea somebody on here made that we have windows on walls that makes it look like you are in a base and outside it's underwater.

    3. Home spaces... really? That'd be even more useless than super group bases. At least in those there is a social reason to go there and hang out with your SG mates.

    The last two are good ideas and already happening. So, in other words, if we're getting the good and passing the crap to so me other MMO, I'm happy to see it.
  5. Where do they send a beta invite and how can we change this? I have no idea what email address I signed on with years ago and I've likely been invited and missed the invite a few times now. Just realized this lol
  6. Hero side they feel anti-climatic. Once I hear the "Mission Over" music, I exit. And that is on pretty much any mission. I'll not stick around to "clear a map" on normal missions either.

  8. It seems to me like they've been advertising hero con for ages. Its something I have no interest in but expect some news for the game will come out afterwards (or during). So.... hero con... happen! Be over! And stop with the adverts taunting me!
  9. Personally I enjoy seeing players experience in react to the stuff I make so I don't care if the only people who see my stuff are on the pickup groups I lead through them (which I do a lot).
  10. I really don't see why they can't take some servers down at one time and the rest at another so that there is always some servers running. Those of us with alts would always be able to play.
  11. This is the only online game that I have ever played for more than a week. I have been here since shortly after launch, NEVER expected to be around for more than a month or two. I've tried a few other MMOs and found them lacking. This game is just for me I think. I expect the devs to keep pumping out cool stuff like they have in the past and I think I'll be here until they turn the lights out years from now.
  12. The 5th Column came back, sort of, with Oroboros. Then we got access to them in AE. But I now see them on the streets of Brickstown, in the real game world. When did this happen? Is this a prelude to the storyline of Going Rogue?
  13. I am the maid arcs yes (those plus a throw away arc I wouldn't recommend to others). The Edit button doesn't show up (it isn't greyed out, its not there).

  14. I can't edit it, though I can unpublish it but I suspect that would destroy it forever.
  15. My computer crashed so bad that I had to re-install windows. In the process I lost the local copies of all my AE creations. However they still exist as published on the game server and I can still play them, just not edit them.

    Is there any way to get this data back on my hard drive from the server? I am the one who published it and it knows that. Can it copy itself for me or are my stories perma-published?

    To a sidethread I was following earlier - this is a good reason NOT to delete stories that have not been republished by date X. I have no way to do so.
  16. Has anybody else noticed an increase in zoning lockups since i16 went live? I find now that my computer will lock up frequently when I try to change zones or enter a mission. It cuts to the loading screen and just stays there. Its to the point that I'm afraid to do missions and am street sweeping.

    Could be my computer. Could be the game. So I'm asking, am I the only one having this issue?
  17. Would power buildup be of any use to a trapper at all? Maybe for web grenade's -rech?

    traps/dark

    I am currently adventuring with my new traps/dark defender. I am building him defensively, and figure that FFG + Seekers + the -acc from dark blasts will bring me near the defense cap. Can anybody tell me if it will do so and if so if I should swap out some of the -acc I've been putting in my blasts for something else? My idea is to 3 slot every blast that does -acc with that enhancement. But is this overkill? Keep in mind I do NOT use any IO bonuses.

  20. I don't see much use for a snipe on a defender. On a blaster, they are great though. People often downplay them because they are not uber DPS, but what they are is massive damage you can do before your enemy fires back at you. I find that very useful, especially when solo and the groups I'm fighting is just 3-4 guys. Take one out in a single shot or nearly take him out.
  21. I've never really looked at the game in terms of what is fastest or safest. I'm interested in toys. I like new ways to do things, new challenges, etc. I enjoy the control game, the buff/debuff game, the mastermind RTS style game. But scrappers? They have no game to play. So I never got one passed the teens. Tanks at least have the taunting/agro-fest game to play, though I find that game lacking.

    I agree that the game is and should be designed around scrappers. Because scrappers are the bare bones, no unique tricks AT.
  22. I still think of the Hollows as the zone that killed Perez Park. I have fond memories of street sweeping around the perimeter of PP. Kings Row was revitalized with the temp travel powers being introduced. PP was left as a graveyard. I say its poetic justice to see the Hollows fall to the same fate.

    I want dev time put into building CoH, not inventing diversions from the game.

    If you like backgammon or chess or poker or whatever, hit Yahoo Games. Heck, you could play CoH in a window and play Yahoo Checkers in a browser.

    Yes! Instead of making distractions and window dressing, improve the core game! Make more powersets to fight with (and new power concepts instead of new graphics for the same thing)! Make more interactive battle environments! More mission tile sets! Stuff like that

    This already exists in the form of temp powers you can get from some missions. Everything from pet clockwork to a zombie to a werewolf to a DE thingie. I don't see a problem with making them buyable, maybe even craftable at the market?
  25. My idea for vigilence (that no doubt others have also suggested):

    Add a fury like bar. The more the defender attacks the stronger their buffs/debuffs/heals are. Encourages the defender to use both primary and secondary and even encourages some excitement for forcefeilders (they gotta buff the team in the middle of a fight for maximum effectiveness).
