Those are good suggestions, Net.
I'd also recommend running things on Heroic. It's really hard to tell what the difficulty is going to end up at, especially with custom mobs and the level changes in some of these arcs.
Perhaps I'll try to do the line up for the evening by grouping arcs that total a manageable number of missions for the evening. Like Net said, when posting your arc provide as many details as possible so that we have a sense of what is going to be necessary to complete them.
I would like to keep this event as flexible as possible in terms of the numbers of people that show up. We may or may not always have 2 teams worth, etc. If we have several arcs for the week, we may want to split them up so that one team covers a couple and the other team covers the rest. If we have extra time we can always switch over.
As always, feedback towards this idea is most welcome so that we can adjust to any issues we run into. -
I want to thank everyone who came out last night! Once again, my most sincere apologies that I was late. My computer decided to randomly stop working not minutes before the event started. Everything was fine earlier and I had made an in game announcement about MA Mondays. I left to get a pizza and when I came back DOOM had struck. I've learned my lesson though. Next time, I'll just make dinner at home.
Anyways, we started out with 2 full teams, which I thought was great, and managed to run though 4 arcs, all of which were quite enjoyable.
Next Monday I'd like to form up again and start with Gulver's arc 73197. Please post your arc ID in this tread if you'd like to add it into the mix. -
Just a reminder, this is going to start tonight at 7:30pm EST.
The line up for this evening is as follows:
1) NetMinder arc 74097
2) Ashcraft arc 101926
3) Mr Squid arc 33034
4) Gulver arc 73197
I hope to get them all completed tonight. Remember, let's try to focus on feedback as much as possible!
Hope to see you there. -
Congrats Angie.
I really enjoyed Cold/Ice as well. -

Mondays? Really? Even if the two first letters don't match up... some other day might be better
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm going to try it and see how it goes. If it proves to be difficult to find people on Mondays, then I might consider switching days. However, just about anyone can participate, both heroes and villains, so it shouldn't be too difficult to get together a team of people. -
Lately, it seems that a lot of people are having difficulties either getting their arcs played or receiving feedback, or both. Therefore, I've been thinking of starting a weekly night of teaming with the specific purpose of playing through and giving feedback to some of the MA authors here on Champion. It should be a great way to earn tickets/badges, to give arcs more exposure, and to tackle some of those arcs that are difficult to do solo.
Starting next Monday, April 27th at 7:30 pm EST, I will be forming a team/teams to start reviewing arcs, starting in RWZ (so that villains can be included as well.) If several people show up, we'll form several teams and get more arcs reviewed at once.
If you would like your arc reviewed, please post the arc ID here in this thread and I will work through them in order. It would be great if some of the authors could also be present during the teaming to receive feedback as we work through the arcs.
Also let me know if you are interested in attending or willing to lead a team so I have an idea of how many people to expect. Hope to see you there! -

My new elec/elec brute Decharge (new as made the week before 2xp week-end) just hit 50 and is probably the one that leveled the fastest up to now. He hit 50 on the ITF completion bonus xp yesterday
I'd like to thank Veritas and Sharp members who helped me a lot... and also everyone else I teamed with

Congrats Hawk!
Always good to have you on our teams. -

Q: Why are merits untradable/unsellable? All the rewards they're replacing had no such restrictions, why these? If they have to be untradable/unsellable, why aren't they account-based, rather than character-based? If you run more than a couple characters at a time, this will fragment your merit pools and dramatically reduce the value of the merits you earn. If its a reward for time played, why should the particular hero I play matter?
A: Merits were designed to represent an individual characters accomplishments and time invested doing missions. Thus, untradeable and unsellable.
[/ QUOTE ]
I realize there are pros and cons to making merits tradable. However, I have some concerns regarding the practicality of this system.
These concerns more or less translate into the 'merits discourage altitis' argument that has been raised numerous times already. However, here is an example coming from the perspective of someone who usually puts together TFs (not necessarily speed runs)...
In the past my experience has gone something like this:
Me: "X TF is forming up. Could use a Y AT (whichever AT is needed). Still need Z number of people to start."
Player: "Sure, I have that AT. Let me switch."
Team Mate: "If we don't get a Y, I can switch toons."
How I predict i13 TFs will be formed:
Me: "X TF is forming up. Could use a Y AT (whichever AT is needed). Still need Z number of people to start."
Player: "I have a Y, but he's not my merit toon. Sorry."
Team Mate: "I also have a Y, but I really want the merits on this toon."
I realize that team composition matters on some TFs (MSTF for example) a lot more than others. However, from a very practical stand point, it does make forming teams for TFs more difficult/restrictive, especially if you are trying to form a TF that requires 7 or 8 people to start at times of the day that are not peak hours or on servers that are less populated.
If my prediction is off, please feel free to inform me. I haven't had as much time as I would like to review all of the feedback/changes that are being made. -
Group Name: Renaissance de la Veritas
Server: Champion
Side: Blue
Size: 12 by 16
Anything else pertinent: We're a relatively small, casual SG of PvE players, though we have dabbled in a handful of base raids. Our group is about 2 years old.
Also, welcome, Sunstorm! Glad to have you aboard. -
Base Repricing
1) How will the repricing of bases affect you personally?
I do not anticipate that the repricing of bases will affect my SG in any significant way. I lead a small, casual PvE SG with zero prestige requirements (members play in SG mode as often as they deem appropriate). Since it was created, weve managed to afford a 12 by 16 plot, all of the available TPs and enough storage for our needs.
2) Will you dismantle your base to gain the additional prestige from the repricing?
No. Because the needs of the group are currently being met, there is no reason to dismantle our base. Extra space serves us no purpose and there are no new features/items available to us that would justify selling/rebuilding parts of the base.
Also, the fact that so much time was dedicated to the base in its current state makes me reluctant to dismantle it.
3) How long would this process take you if you were to engage in this practice?
Too long.
4) What are the positive and negative concerns regarding repricing?
Positives: Future building will now be less expensive.
Negatives: There is no reason for my SG (currently) to engage in future building.
5) How will this feature affect you long term and short term?
In the short term, this feature will not affect us very much. Beyond the short term, it will depend if any new items that enhance base functionality are added. It will also depend on how the development of base raids progresses.
Base Salvage Exchange to Invention Salvage
1) What is the negative effect on your base for this feature implementation?
For my base, no real negative, aside from the lack of storage capacity.
2) What is the positive effect on your base for this feature implementation?
None that I can see in terms of our group. There are no base items that I still need to craft, and the empowerment stations have been absent from our base for over a year due to the lack of their use.
3) How long will it take you to adjust to learning this new system?
Probably not long.
4) What side effects to this system do you currently see from transitioning the old to new system?
Most of my concerns have already been debated at great length before, so I wont go into detail. A quick summary would be as follows:
- Potentially higher theft rates (maybe not for my SG but I can see how it would affect others)
- Market changes: supply and demand of invention salvage
- Willingness of a member to donate to the group may diminish (base salvage did not set anyone back when given away)
- Limited storage capacity
5) What security concerns do you have regarding this change?
For the most part, Ive adjusted to the rank-based security system and therefore, I only promote people I trust. However, there wasnt really a large incentive before to steal base salvage. The change to invention salvage may increase theft rates. While my group is small and the members trust each other, I can see this becoming a potential headache for other groups.
The fact that the security system is rank-based is not compatible with the fact that the storage security system guards items of varying worth. For example, I think everyone should have access to inspirations. If someone wants to rob my base of break frees, I wont lose any sleep. However, if I choose to start protecting my invention salvage more vigorously, not everyone in my group will be able to have access to the things that I feel add to the quality of life that *should* come with being a part of an SG.
Additional Notes:
I do not mean to be a buzz-kill to all those with small to medium sized bases who will benefit from the new changes. I definitely see the application in situations where managing prestige and attaining functionality have been difficult. However, it would be dishonest of me to say that this issue is going to mean anything other than business as usual for me, personally.
Regarding the change from base salvage to invention salvage Im still not entirely clear as to why. Base salvage was expendable for the most part, allowing it to be donated freely and used freely. Using invention salvage does not seem to introduce any real benefit while managing to raise a lot of concern. -

Heya,
First, this is my final product as a "first base". I inherited the base editing for my SG, "Iron Phoenix" (Freedom), some time ago, but I never tweaked it until this past winter, when I realized "hey, we need a crafting area.... hokay, how do I do it... Um..."
Then the base editing bug hit, and I just went to town on the joint. Part of the reason I poured myself into it was to lure some older IRON members back into CoX - they'd left a while ago for other games, and were used to "how things were" around Issue 8.
When they came back to this, everything livened up again. I wanted to give them a home to sink their feet into and sigh in relaxation.
I'll say this: I'm a "magic desk" incompetent. Tried a number of times, became an exercise in frustration more than anything. So this isn't a fancy "let's defy gravity" example - rather, it's just a base, with particular attention given to item detail and placement, lighting tweaks galore (I was a lighting director for TV/film in a previous life), and just focused on warmth and character, and cool color palettes.
I'm offering this as a Picasa album (use the slideshow for ease of use), with all the items captioned beneath for locations and whatnot.
Enjoy. I hope you like my house.

@Amygdala, Champion
I have alts on every server and am willing to join SGs to help out, or will give advice/answer questions.
Sample of my work. -
1. To float an object, simply place it on a desk and then drag the desk into another room. For items with a larger surface area, you will have to use a few desks to support it.
2. When I made my fireplace, I had to float arcane blocks at different levels using desks stacked on top of one another. You can float the top layer, then drag the desks underneath into another room, then place the next layer below, etc. This creates that layered effect with objects that don't typically stack.
Hope that helps! -
Hi again builders!
Mira Moonshadow and I recently gave our 50s SG base a makeover. It's our first project that we co-edited together, and we decided we'd try to make a Sewer/Arcane "basement" as an extension of our main SG's Arcane/Sewer base.
(As a comparison, here is our main SG base's meeting room vs the underground, secret chapel found in our 50s base.)
Here is a brief tour of our sewer basement. (Please do not befriend any rodents. They have ignored their last eviction notice and we don't want to send the wrong message.)
Standing at the altar looking back at the entrance...
Walking through an abandoned sewer tunnel...
The energy from the generator resonates through the ground...
Watch your step over this bridge...
A single candle lights mysterious bookshelves...
Gettin' a little crafty... *plays laughtrack*
Quality health care seems unlikely...
That concludes the tour for now!
*Provides hand sanitizer upon exit.* -
Great picutres Vihzera! I love the Cathedral, and that Centre Corridor shot, WOW! Nice work.

Hello folks i tried my hand at the base editor for the first time tonight

If only I had been that good with my first try. Looks great! Well, actually, looks like someplace I would never want to be on the wrong side of... but that's the effect you were trying for.

I was pretty impressed as well since it was his first time with the editor. When I told him he could decorate the rezzer room I was expecting something like... rezzer... tree... desk... lamp. But nope, got me a full out Interrogation Chamber!
You should be proud of your work, Mira. The one way mirror idea looks very sharp in person. As much as I like it, I'm going to try not to make you angry any time soon.
