Go to any Tailor, or Trainer, now.

Looks like a dark version of the Sonic Resonance big bubble.

Looks like we've got a practical application of what we've been saying. Graphical problems with a lot of powers being reported after the servers came back up, a problem that was not reported on Test before being brought to Live servers. Doesn't seem like it's happening to everyone, or on affected characters in all places.
So, bug appeared that didn't appear on Test. How should they have planned for that? -
Apparently there are some graphical issues going on right now, affecting a lot of powers. Not sure if it's limited to Atlas Park on Exalted, or AP in general, but it's known.

Quote:This is REALLY not the better way to go. Freedom has gone Live at this point. Making minor fixes every so often is FAR better at this point than pulling this back completely. For one, all of a sudden you have a bunch of people who are playing who no longer can, for an indeterminate amount of time in the scale of weeks to months, potentially. And even then, you still might not find every bug that will happen on the Live servers. All fair points certainly. This is just really bad timing, no matter the reason. This is the time when returning players will form judgments on the state of the game. Not the best time to be going down 4 or 5 times a week.
IMO, if it remains in this troubled state, they should pull it back into the beta server, continue testing (while its still live of course), make the corrections there aggressively, and then drop a large fix build on the live servers.
Better than trying to fix it as they go IMO.
So, you basically piss off a lot of people who can't play at all for weeks or months, just to avoid a few hours of downtime here and there.
And here's the thing, if you leave what we have still live, only make fixes on the Beta server, then we STILL need to take the Live servers down for maintenance about the same amount anyways, as there will still be bugs there. However, now we have the Devs working simultaneously to fix the same bugs on Live and Beta, which doubles their work time to make any fix.
I know that this is inconvenient for some (maybe a lot) of people. But the alternative is far worse. -
^This. The Vanguard Weapons are all for edged weapons. They are basically razor-thin planes of energy that you can use to cut through stuff. A razor-thin mace makes no sense.
Of course, the box doesn't make much sense either, but makes more than a mace would. However, maybe a Mace with a four-sided head that looks like the vanguard plates you can put on your boots would be appropriate. -
Quote:Not all issues can be determined before a launch. Unfortunate, but true. For one, there are more players, doing different things than they would in a Beta, and they can find more problems.I think it would have been better to fix any issues before Freedom's launch.
Do I wish that they could figure out every issue in the Betas? Yes. But it's not going to happen. There are just too many additional variables on the live servers. -
Quote:I am sure that the Devs are trying very hard to limit downtime, especially at this point. However, fixing the servers BEFORE weekend prime times is better than letting issues go unresolved until Tuesday. We just pulled in a whole slew of players, including returning players I expect. I realize that the increased maintenance perhaps can't be helped, but that doesn't change the fact that it doesn't bode well for the games rep at this critical time.
I would recommend that a solution be found as soon as possible to end this excessive downtime. Otherwise it may hurt any momentum Freedom may have created. -
May I ask why this would need to be a new archetype, instead of just a powerset? I would think that a missile/grenade set would be a blaster primary, while you could make a bunch of debuff grenades/missiles into a Defender/Corruptor/Controller/Mastermind buff/debuff set. I don't think that it would need to be a new AT.
That being said, I would kind of like this, and was toying around in my head with writing up a Missile Blast set the other week. My thought was that each attack would be a single-target attack, and the secondary effect of the whole set would be various chances of the attack becoming AoE. As such, while the powers themselves would be single target and follow normal set progression (maybe with a single cone AoE and a standardish nuke power), each attack would have a chance to cause splash damage. -
Quote:1) Hyperbole will get you nowhere. The game has NOT been down more than it's been up recently. Why is it that CoX(which has been around for years) is experiencing the type of issues that 99% of other games go through during their initial launch??
Here's are rhetorical question also... Why am I paying for this game when there is more down time than play time??
This is absolutely pathetic!
2) They are upgrading the servers to better handle the increased load that Freedom is expected to bring in. New hardware means that they need to make sure that it's running properly, and is doing everything that it needs to be doing. This means a bit of extra maintenance right now, but it should calm down soon. -

Quote:If you haven't yet, you might want to try installing the test server, and duplicating the character there. That way, you can mess with the respec there, and see if you like it or not, before doing it for keeps on the live server.Hey Guys,
Thanks so much fro helping me out with this. I Am hopelessly lost when it comes to the whole enhancing thing. I am still not 100% decided which way I will go with this, but I will most likely figure it out this weekend when i use up one of those 8 respecs that I keep getting told I have when I log on with this toon..LOL -
-
But then wouldn't they get less answers, potentially? I mean, the point of having that section is so that they can ask questions, and VIPs would be the best potential answers.

Quote:Okay, if you had mentioned THAT at the beginning, maybe more people would have understood what you were going for. When you make a vague suggestion, don't be surprised when people don't understand exactly what you're getting at. If you were only talking about the speed of the jump, and not the jump itself, then why would you say that you want our SJ to be more like their SJ, instead of wanting our SJ to behave like their SJ only in terms of the speed of assent/descent?At last, someone understands, the animation has nothing to do with it, its the speed of the jump,
Making a clear suggestion is the first step. -
Quote:Rocket Boots only animate when flying. The piston boots do animate when jumping, but that's mostly a landing thing.I did a little experiment last night to see if rocket boots actually work the way I thought they did, and they don't. That is, the rockets don't animate when you super jump. I guess some other rationalization will have to be found for anyone bothered by the physics.
Still, having tried both games' super jumps, I would respec out of it if we had to use the version that appears in "the other game". -

Quote:I think the problem here is the same for -DMG powers, and why we can't slot for that. I think that if we could slot -recharge in powers, it would actually be affected by +Recharge enhancements in the power. Either that, or slotting for -recharge would negativeley impact the recharge of the power it's slotted in, not just the enemy. As it stands, slotting slow simply means slowing movement. While this is good for runners, I find it nearly useless when in comes to recharge rates, especially when it comes to minions who may have one two or three powers anyway. I think it would put slow powers on par with other debuff powers if we could slot for -recharge along with movement.

I am going to try to be there for this, but fiancee aggro might be tough to deal with. Hmmm...going to have to see what characters I have left on Champion, and see which one I should bring along. Or maybe I should just make a new one.

Quote:Considering I have no idea what you're talking about when you compare it to "that other game's" super jump, I'm going to have to say that I like ours the way it is.I wouldnt mind a more traditional superjump, Dont get me wrong i like the CoH one but the one the put in with Champs OL just seems to be the kind of superjump i think of when its mentioned, the CoH SJ i see more as a Glidingjump
Anyone Agree?
Could you elaborate a bit on what makes it different? -
The zones that really need looking at for an update are most of the CoV zones, Boomtown, Dark Astoria, and maybe even Eden.
I honestly think that the CoH main city zones are actually good about showing how each neighborhood is a little different from the next. But the CoV zones have always seemed a bit bland to me. -

1) I would like this as well. Tough to know if you want to buy something if you can't see it first. Or, at the very least, have a time period where you can return items.
2) Sounds good to me
3) Asked for often. I think the only problem they've had with this in the past is whether to have the weapon always in, or always out of the scabbard/holster. Last I heard from the Devs on it, they couldn't make it take the weapon out when in use, so it was one or the other.
4) I'd love this, actually. Also, the ability to have different gloves on each hand would be nice, too, without resorting to the whole robotic arm thingy.
5) Not too sure about this, but depending on the price and duration, I might be fine with it.
All in all, a pretty good list. -
Quote:There are a few ways. The first really good way is to make sure you hit up the Vault (one of which is in Cap Au Diable, just north of the market there (it'll be on the map). You can store a decent amount there.Yeah, I snagged a jetpack and zero-G pack, 2 hours a pop from newspaper missions, and it has helped a ton. I'm doing the whole villain thing, getting lost in the story (Side note: it is EXTREMELY refreshing to actually read what NPCs say. I've done hundreds, if not thousands, of raids in other games, and I have never been clear on the motivation since the walls o' text were so poorly written).
At this moment, I'm level 18, pounding through the aftermath of Dr. Graves' tournament, and I haven't gotten bored, yet. This is a good sign.
The enhancement system is starting to make a little sense, and the first arc of the new signature story arc got me enough merit thingies to get a bunch of SO enhancements 3 levels above me, so I'm feeling a little god-like.
The invention stuff is piquing my interest, though. Is there any way to get more salvage inventory space? I'm feeling really.... cramped...
Also, some of the market badges for selling various items, and I think badges for various crafting, can earn you more salvage inventory space.
