I dunno I kind of like being able to use it on a lone boss and still have endurance to burn attacks while they're completely zeroed out of endurance
-
Yes.
That is to say, most of them seem to work pretty well with the set. The pets all come with innate defenses and resists so you have your choice of which to build off of, if not both.
I've got a beast/time and it works pretty well, it's pretty rare that they get one shotted, especially if I can shoot off fortify pack with several stacks of pack mentality going, they hardly get touched. -
Quote:I don't have it, but as I understand it the panther power is a toggle like sprint or beast run. When you toggle it on the Pop Up Power Tray appears with a stealth toggle you can turn off.So how exactly does this work?
Is there ever a time that the panther form is fully visible? Or does toggling on the power turn you straight into an invisible(ish) panther?
So you can be a panther or a stealthy panther. -
Oh yeah the summer event looks like it'll actually be kinda fun to run!

Given the proc only works in -one- power and it's level 47+, probably not going to make a major difference in the overall scheme of teaming. The proc will make a difference to you, but to the team you'll still be throwing out knockback from your other powers, so if they're going to kick you for it they'll likely do it anyway regardless of having the proc. Unless they're anal retentive enough to tell you to -only- spam the proc'ed powers, in which case, do yourself a favor and quit the team and one star the dude, he wouldn't be worth playing with anyway.

So bonfire becomes a knock down and damage patch <3

It does make you wonder what's going to happen to some of the signature characters that have developed out of this storyline (that have survived to this point). We've got Praetorian Penny, Aurora, and Calvin Scott, Metronome, Dominatrix, and Desdemona as the new Carnival of Light Mistress. Can't really just make these characters disappear. At least, I'd hope not >>

Quote:Til they release more info on the badges or if the other reward options are new shinies, I don't expect you'll get many more folks jumping for joy over it.You number crunching types do know that there's more to this event than just some enhancements, right?
Not to detract from the event, it seems cute and fun but.. that's about it. It's not some compelling plot twist involving anything else in the world. The coliseum has some cool bosses, but it's nothing but a tank and spank. The casino heist has some pretty neat mechanics but nothing mind blowing. It's like the Halloween event, it's got some neat new tricks and we'll run it a few times but after that... well, that's it. -
Also pretty interesting about the 6 set bonus. Isn't the only other set that offers knockback protection has a set bonus one of the PVP IOs? Glad to see the devs are starting to play with set bonuses.
Though, I can't help but wonder if we'll ever see some expanded sets eventually, because so far it's been nothing but attuned stuff that you can't craft via recipe. (Not that I mind -too- much, I <3 ATOS, and a universal damage set sounds nice to shore up like Targeted AoEs). -
you sure? It looked like it was attuned, not a typical level based enhancement.

Only a shame that the set is 47+. Especially for an event that's designed from 15 to 50 >>
-
audio is up and the event is pretty interesting.
I missed the first few minutes though, is this something that uses the team up teleporter? Seems like once you're in the theater you can run either event, so how do you get to the theater? And apparently you go through -both- movies for the event
Reward is a new universal Damage IO huh? Interesting!
Edit: Yup, LFG event via holiday events. Caps at 4 people, no more no less.
Edit2: Ok, run down!
The casino heist has everyone take 1 of 4 roles chosen out in the lobby. I think grifter, hitter, hacker and thief. Every role plays a different part in a different section with assigned goals. The better each person does the better the team as a whole succeeds. You split up, do your part, then end up in a warehouse with a mob rush and a boss, then back to another team separation and ending with another mob and boss. We got some descriptors, like the thief stealths around trying to avoid alarms, the hitter whacks things, etc. We only saw the MMORPG guy playing, I believe the hitter, so there wasn't much to tell.
And then coliseum is a bunch of awesome bosses. First comes a minotaur and it looks like 2 talons of vengeance. Then ninja monkeys! (I think) Then a guy with dire wolves. Then a pair of robots that are joined by a 3rd? Then if you manage to max out your meter (think public opinion with TPN) you fight a bonus round against the god champion, who summons up the former bosses.
All in all seems pretty neat. Rewards looked like the new Enhancement plus a couple other items not discussed, I'm guessing merits and a super insp. -
Watching something to see it as a preview and watching something to see how it's played well are two entirely different things.
The last event went off fine, it showed off just about every element of the Magisterium trial. The guy was new, sure, but it wasn't vital he contributed a lot to the trial. The only real problem with it was the inability to broadcast the teams chat properly so the devs could give us their running comments. -
Quote:So what you're saying is: Totally out of spite. While I do respect differing opinions and viewpoints:
If we had wanted to kill off States out of spite, we would have done so years ago. There's been nothing keeping us from doing so.
The death of Statesman (and Sister Psyche) was part of a huge change to the City of Heroes franchise; the move to a Hybrid model. We wanted to do something big, something impactful and something that could give us more avenues to make you, the player, the primary focus.
Were there obvious allusions and comparisons made to Jack and his relation to States? Of course. There's plenty of press opportunities there, and it's something that drew interest from veteran players, current players and new players alike, as well as gaming journalists familiar with the franchise. I absolutely agree that there was some real world symbolism, as Matt expressed in an article he wrote on the topic, however to say there was malice or prejudice involved would be spurious.
This industry is entirely too small to burn bridges.
There's also the point that the SSA1 stories weren't directly written by Matt. I believe most of the writing was handled by Dr. Aeon. -
I've got 2. An incarnate necro/dark that I really enjoyed and barely had any trouble with. And now a 27 beast/time I'm waiting to take through Night Ward. it's been fairly smooth sailing thus far.

1-30? Mm I could see a case being made for Redside needing more but Blueside has a -glut- of content in that range. It could probably use some more 1-5 content to get away from the bottleneck that is Habashy or DFB. Then again at that level street sweeping goes pretty fast too.
If -anywhere- in the game needs new content desperately it's the 40-50 range. All roads lead to Peregrine and Grandville. And given how much XP it takes to get to 50 it can be really easy to go through -all- the available contacts, even including in Cimerora and the Rikti Warzone. -
Quote:ITF is a popular shard farm, and grants a shard common at the end.The quirky RNG certainly hates me most of the time. Day and a half of hardcore play and only three shards, but strangely three purple recipes which never happens to me.
Some of my toons trip over shards but my newest 50 (Staff Stalker) just can't draw them at all, but she does attract the purples. . . Quirky!
In fact if you're set on doing shard stuff you may as well do the endgame TFs. All of them offer a shard common component. Or if you can you can also get in on a Hamidon raid which awards 4 shards, which equates to any common you like.
Though really, thread stuff is still faster. You can get a guaranteed daily 10 threads from the Dark Astoria repeatables and a weekly 10 threads and an astral merit (= 4 threads) from the SSAs. Not to mention mobs in Dark Astoria have a pretty decent rate at dropping threads, way higher than shards at the least. -
Well they've told us that none of the sets, spoiled or leaked, will be coming out with I23.
But given that there are -no- other power sets out right now, I think it's safe to say that the 3 spoiled at the pummit will be hitting beta. I really wouldn't be surprised to see them come out during I23's tenure. -
yeah check out the badge, it lists the missions. Blueside has a plethora of choices, from Mercedes Sheldon to Faultline to.. like others, I forget all of them, because I typically snag one by either of those 2.
Redside you've got a lot fewer options. -
An absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

No but he doubles as a tool, like Manticore.
And isn't his costume just Manticore's, but blue? -
The only thing that makes shards somewhat easier at this point is with the weekly strike target you're offered a guaranteed notice, so even if you do say, a BAF, Lamb and Keyes and still manage to pull no rares you know you've got the WST. PLus it means any salvage you do get from them can be used toward other abilities.
I tend to craft a common from shards, then a T2 from thread stuff, then a T3 from shards. -
Yup! if you turn on the option to see pet health like mastermind's have (so, like for a controller) it shows up as a pet when you summon it.
