  5. I was terrorized a few times last night, was getting battered to start with due to some excellent villain coordination and leadership was a fun night again, had some epic battles until the villains left, should be there again tonight

    edit: after a chat with one of the best empaths on union i retract the above statement and say that it is not a must have but can save the team in some situations

    Mez protection. This is a huge Pro. You will have mez protection arround 2/3 of the time with 3 recharge and hasten. Giving you room for greens and blues.

    Cons

    Lousy blasts, if your going for lots of kills this wont be the powerpool for you. The damage is ok, but the animation is somewhat long, you might be able to ignore it since your storm, but I prefer faster blasts.

    Great set, if your going for a more team based build this is the one. Even solo its quite ok cause of the mez protection.

    Lousy blasts? sit in on a mish with my fire/kin/psi controller and watch the kills fly in from the psionic tornado, the days i use my controller for a few hours i'm always top of the punisher board.

    In the blaster energy secondary attacks a few melee powers like bonesmasher and energy punch will knock toggles off even if the opponent has mez protection, i was askin whether or not a dominators bonesmasher attack can also do this? as a tanks bonesmasher attack cannot drop toggles

    I hadn't planned on it. I'd planned on taking everything in Inv and adding tough and weave as per a Inv guide I found on the US forums, I then added the leaping powerpool to this. Only problem is I some how messed up and took jump kick so I'm stuck with that.

    If I leave a few attacks from energy melee then I could still take everything in Inv, all of leaping, tough and weave and still get health and stamina in there...

    Is acrobatics worth getting or does unyielding give me all the hold and knock back resists I'll need, should I leave that off and take another in energy?

    If you take all the toggles in invul and tough and weave without stamina you will run out of end in about two hits, i have all these toggles with end reducers and stamina and my end is still a massive problem. Personally I would go energy if you want to hurt single targets or fire if you want to do very damaging aoes.

    Because a Corruptor can debuff the Blaster, or buff themselves, or heal between hits, etc.

    I've taken out Blasters in one-on-one fights with my Corruptor. I throw Darkest Night on them, and their accuracy and damage is debuffed. Now they need to hit me more times to kill me, and they're having a harder time doing it. If they got a hit on me before I debuffed them, I can heal myself (And debuff them further at the same time). Up against an Energy Blaster? I turn Shadow Fall on, and then they're going to have to hit me a lot more to kill me. Sure, it's not as easy as just throwing out a few attacks at someone, but it means we have a lot more tools at our disposal than a Blaster... and as a result, if our damage were equal to theirs, we'd be far too overpowered.

    If you were fighting a good blaster (take for example gatling) they wouldnt walk head on into battle with you so you could hit them with ur debuffs, they would be stealthy and by the time you knew where they were you would be dead in 2 hits.

  19. just found out that dominator primary is less accurate than controller primary, is this the same with corrupter vs. blaster? i.e. does the same primary set on a corrupter have less accuracy or dmg than a blaster?
  20. unless i'm in a team with 7 squishies i will try to give perma clear mind to all squishies on any mission where the enemies have holds or stuns, altho empaths shouldn't really be anywhere close to the battle to get held....
  21. i am thinking of starting villains with a dominator and have noticed a few posts saying that their holds aren't too good, do they have a lower accuracy or hold duration than controllers because i was under the impression that controller primary power sets were the same as dominator primary?

    [/ QUOTE ]You can hardly hit 75% resistance to S/L with Fire Shield + Tough, not to mention capping it..
    Invulnerability has a built in Knockback Resistance wich fire doesn't have, not a must but it surely helps when fighting CoT and nemeses and you won't need to get Leaping pool to have some protection to Knockback...

    As for the melee, i would suggest as X said, Fire if you're goin for area of effect attacks and energy if you're goin for single targets.

    SS has a good mix of AoE (the most cool looking in the game bar PB Flares) and single target(again the most cool looking punch in the game)and it looks pretty damn cool!!!

    I may be completely wrong here but didnt they destroy s/l resistance in i5 down to around 70%? But J is very correct in that with invul you get knockback resistance and also invinc gives to hit buffs and dull pain is far superior to healing flames. The only reason i picked fire primary on my second tank was for fiery embrace as i want a pvp tank

    And most cool looking punch in the game? I see your knockout punch j and raise you total focus

    ice secondary is very boring and does no dmg at all, energy and fire are by far the best as i said earlier, energy for single targets, fire for aoes.

    Fire gives more resistance to energy and toxic and far more resistance to fire, slighest less resistance to ice than invul. Can eaily reach resist cap to smashing/lethal, same as invul altho for this u need tough if u chose fire. I find my tanks to be very end draining so consume in fire is good as well as fiery embrace if ur looking for dmg.

    In terms of secondary energy is by far the most damaging attacking single targets, fire has the most damaging aoes and ss is a good mix of both
