Hey, did we properly complain about Melissa & Jake (?) being removed from the Easter Egg site?
[/ QUOTE ]
Mike.
I thought that was just a bug, anyhow?
[/ QUOTE ]
A bug? Heck no, they said cool stuff along the lines of 'how the hell did you get in here' when you clicked them.
Me, I think Sexy Jay saw the Melissa & Mike were sexier than he is and turned them invisible.
Zloth's costume suddenly turns to pink with red poka-dots and some lavender horizontal stripes -

And yes, Positron that means being able to solo on Invincible easily. If one AT can do it then they all should be able to.
[/ QUOTE ]
Key word 'if'. If a build can do that, though, then the build really needs to be nerfed in some way. Or the enemies need buffing. Some ATs should definitely be better at solo'ing than others but if some builds are so much better that max difficulty doesn't give much of a challenge then they are broken.
I really don't feel that Dominators are broken. I think they aren't that popular because some other builds make the game terribly easy. Those are what need fixing. Unfortunately, they needed fixing BEFORE going live. Now you've spoiled the players and many (probably most) will scream bloody murder if you nerf them back to sanity. -

Here's a real kicker of a glitch. Was doing Frostfire and the mission had no ice or fire effects during the whole mission on the wals or floors. But the whole team was still slipping and sliding on.....bare carpeted floors.
[/ QUOTE ]
Along the same lines - all the graphics are missing in the Shadow Shard molepoints, as are the sand bags in Portal Corp. The items are actually there (you can play with people's minds by doing poses on the PI sand bags ) but are invisible. This makes the Molepoint tutorial mission in the Shadow Shard just about impossible to do as you can't see the portal you are supposed to click on.
Last time this bug came up, it also made a mess of the final room in the Revenant Hero story arc on the hero side. The final room is... well, I don't want to spoil it but there are supposed to be things on the ceiling. Last time the Molepoint graphics vanished, those ceiling things vanished as well. Might want to check them while you're at it.
Has anyone checked the Oribitting Death warshade power?? It still absolutely kills framerate for me on Test. Make sure you're close to a wall when you try it out.
Looping sounds, toggles dropping when you zone, and other long standing known issues are still around. Not sure if you want them in this topic, though. -

More free tokens, whee!

I don't think I've paid for a costume change in a long time.
Which, actually, is a good thing IMHO. When the game was young, costumes were about the only other thing to spend influence on other than Enhancers. Now we've got that whole prestige thing sapping our influence and costume spending is getting real hard to justify.
Maybe look into making costume changes a lot cheaper some day real soon now? -

Issues are big but don't forget the between-issues work. Last year's Valentines & Winter events were pretty big things and didn't have any issue associated with them. All those 'little' changes between issues seem to be coming down at the same rate, as near as I can tell. So why would the big ticket stuff be slowing down while the relatively small stuff keeps going?

Send a PM to... er... What's his name..? Sloth or something..?
[/ QUOTE ]
Hehe, it would be Sloth, but that name is always taken in every game I join. I've given up even trying to snag that name.
Anyway - right now I think I would have to point more toward FRAPS. Demos right now are a bit crazy with the timing. You'll see animations happen before effect a lot, like your character starts jogging a second before moving. Or vice versa. -
No videos yet, but I've got TONS of demos of my grav/storm. Most of them are sitting safe and sound on my hard drive, of course, but I think you might like the physics demo I've got as a sample on my demo launcher page, though.

Oh, I see, lines go with the tech targeting rectile! Yeah, that makes good sense! (Yeah, I'm one of those folks that need art explained to them. )

Let me know what you think please.

Duh, we love it of course!
Huh, down in the super-speed glow there seem to be black horizontal lines. Is that on purpose? Is my machine displaying correctly? -
The battles are the most interesting to me. Closest to that on the list is MOBs. The more advanced ones with tricky special abilities like Rularuu, Malta, Sky Raiders, and Rikti are my favorites.

Seismic activity on the moon changed our tides!?!? Was this 'seismic activity' the moon breaking up into a ring around Earth?? How could... ok ok, fiction, suspend disbelief... go with it Zloth...

I know that a lot of their time, when it isn't currently spent getting Issue 8 out the door, is working on some of the very broad and exciting stuff coming in issue 9 that will add a lot to the game over all (inventions + other goodies).
[/ QUOTE ]
That's something that tends to drive us nuts, actually. We get a new feature that's pretty fun but still has some bugs. For a month or so the devs work the bugs but then it's off to the next big thing. If your bugs aren't fixed by then, it will probably be many months before they are looked at again - if ever. The Arena is easily the biggest example of this. The Shadow Shard would likely be next in line.
The Invention system is obviously a very big deal. I'm sure when it comes out, several bugs and exploits will crop up - they always do with something big. Maybe it would be possible to shove Issue 10 back six months or so and just do a big maintenance period? Take the time to go back and put those teleporters in a Molepoint in the Shadow Shard and have them lead to other Molepoints instead of going right next to the zone gates. Fix up the costumes/interface so you don't see completely different things when you look on your supergroup screen. Either do the Arena tournaments or at least get them out of the interface. Take some time to balance the Gladiators. Given how big the Invention system is likely to be, I'm sure it could use the extra time as well.
Then, once the existing stuff has had its maintenance, get back to doing the new stuff. -
Lots of good CoH vids at Gametrailer. Wasp's is getting great ratings, and it deserves them!
[ QUOTE ]
I wish they'd put a CoX movie in theatres...
[/ QUOTE ]
Hehe, actually I worked at AMC for about a year when they were first developing a digital movie system. I used CoH's first trailer to test some of it out. I was *really* hoping there would be some kind of mistake and that would get played along with all the other coming-soon trailers. Ah well, no such luck..... -

It's strange. This entire dimension is suffused with a mystic power. As if it was all the construction of a single vast consciousness. As if we were walking among the dreams of a God.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, but the sentient dimension just isn't making sense to me at all. The Rularuu came to the SS world - dimensions don't invade planets, that just doesn't make sense. Beings from another dimension, sure, but a dimension itself? Huh?
I can't really say what it DOES mean but, given that Akarist is just musing at this point, I don't think it's required. (Though Akarist's comment makes tons of sense when taken to the real world. The Shadow Shard is one of Cryptic's writer's dreams.)
[ QUOTE ]
For the fragments of Rularuu, there can be a few explanations. I will concede that, as creatures, they were once alive. But I'm not certain that they are, anymore. I'm not certain that there is anything left of what they once were. At their core, I feel they are little more than empty, soul-less shells filled with energy and matter. As fragments of Rularuu, they are merely parts of him, his avatars in this world.
[/ QUOTE ]
At least some of them have self will. There's a rebel brute buying enhancements in the Cascades and a rebel wisp in the Chantry. Faathim and Lanaruu both rebelled. Faathim's description specifically says that he's keeping himself independent from Rularuu.
I do think the big aspects (Ruladak, Faathim, Lanaruu, and whatever others they add) are reflections of Rularuu's personality. Well, personality is definitely not the right word to use - Rularuu is about as alien as it gets. I'm not real sure of the cause/effect in that, though. Was Rularuu more kind when Faathim was a part of Rularuu, or was Faathim's kindness caused by Rularuu's kindness?
I tell you what we do know, though. We know that they are Rularuu and they are to be OBEYED! That would make such a great T-Shirt. -
I went about the low levels differently. This was back in the pre-containment, pre-propel-love days when doing damage was totally out of the question for a grav/storm. I got O2 Boost and Haste early. In a typical battle I would lock up the enemy boss then start healing allies with O2 Boost. It worked quite well. Containment has made Reinman's more damage-oriented build possible but the more defender-ish build I used still should do fine, too.
Beware the Snowstorm, for it is a mighty endurance eater. Also, keep a CLOSE eye on your anchor for the power. If it runs off, make sure you drop the power fast or it could agro other spawns. That's plural folks - and they will be angry with you, not the tank. Best not to use Snowstorm on a teleporting enemy at all. I'm not saying this is a bad power - it's slowing ability really helps, particularly before you get freezing rain - it's just one that requires some practice.
At 50 I was able to respec out of Stamina. About the only time I find myself running out of endurance is against AV's and, when that happens, I just hit the Hibernate. That gives me my endurance back pretty fast. Meanwhile, my Singularity, my Lightning Storm, my Ice Storm, and my Tornado can all keep doing damage. Snowstorm's effect stops but the effect comes right back the instant I drop Hibernate. -

Expand the gallery! Get more fan art in there and organize it. There are a LOT of different types getting expressed. Pencil drawings, full colored comics, Poser work, screenshots, stories, videos, demos, and even one guy who did a great voice act for The Radio's missions.
I would really rather *NOT* see contests, never mind contests with prizes. A contest has to be fair, which means you've got to put a bunch of rules in. (Like 'no edits at all' for the contests to get your screenshots in the villain write-ups.) When you do that, you'll almost certainly push out the folks who have the best tools in order to make the contest accessible.
I'm also no fan of weekly/monthly/quarterly.... if something good gets posted then get it up there. I don't want to see poor stuff put up because it happened to be the only thing posted that week. I really don't want to see great stuff skipped because another great thing happened to be posted the same week.
You're also going to run into the same problem NCSoft ran into before - time. "Here's 5000 screenshots - pick out your favorite for me before you go to lunch so I can make it the screenshot of the week, please." Ugh. After the staff cuts I don't think you folks have the time to go through all the content you'll have thrown at you.
Can anyone think of a way the fan base itself can decide what stays and what goes? Obviously, even if we provide the critical eye, NCSoft lawyers will need to apply more practical eyes before it goes up. Or would this run too much risk of hard feelings between forum goers?
P.S. Griping topic started in forgotten forum, Lighthouse gets us talking about solutions within a day! I'm impressed! -
Uhhh.... yeah....
Have you seen the latest weekly screenshot on the main page? No? That's because they stopped doing it. The number of screenshots in this forum took a huge dive after that.
Have you seen some of the old weekly screenshots? No? That's because they took the whole section down.
But at least the gaming photographers have this topic. People making videos have no idea where to go. Here? One of the two discussion forums? A lot of folks post on their server formus, too. I think I'm missing two thirds of the videos people make simply because they aren't posted here. -

Please note that I've never actually been able to read the majority of the clues of the Shard TF's, so this is wild speculation.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure you can - thank you Red Tomax! Click the ?'s to see the clues.
Faathim says he was "induced" into Rularuu and he says that Lanaruu (?) was resurrected and brought into Rularuu. I think these guys had a life before Rularuu. However, I bet they were picked because they could be bent to represent an aspect of Rularuu will. Not a lot a point in infusing a construction worker to be your doctor.

Hmmm, not sure how Preatorians or Malta got to the zone. I presume they hitched a ride with another villain group. Also at this point, Crey is in massive dissarray so maybe they just bribed their way in. -
I like, the music works with the visual and keeps me interested. But where's the obligatory hitting-level-50 screenshot!? You did take one, right??
