One of the Dark defs in the hardcore SG took HT. I think we call it the "We win button." I think I took it as well on mine, but I would have to check. I haven't played him in 2-3 weeks. If I don't currently have it, I'm sure I will at some point if I continue to live that long.

Quote:This. I don't think people automatically move onto CoH 2. Maybe a large part of the game's population does, but even if 25% stay, that's a pretty decent amount of players from your own base that aren't going to your new game. I would rather see CoH built upon and improved versus just starting something new. Anybody who says they need to start over to do "x" just needs to be reminded how closed issue somethings like power customization was and yet we have it.While I know that this thread is all in good fun, I'm curious - Why do so many people assume that a new MMO by Paragon Studios would be another super hero game? SOE already proved the folly of creating a game whose sole reason'd'etre is to cannibalize subscribers from your other successful game.
Whatever their new project is, it won't be a game intended to directly steal customers from themselves. It will be intended to open up a new market. Otherwise, there's almost no point in investing in the new game. -
I thought the franchise really started to go down after CoH 4. I liked CoH 3D the best though.

1. I doubt Positron ever said proliferation was done. If he did, I suspect he was drunk at the time.
Quote:I wouldn't hold my breath -- Posi stated at the Bay Area Meet & Greet this past year that all of the powerset proliferation is done. That's not to say their plans couldn't change in the future, but at least as of that night when he made the comment, he seemed (to me, at least) to be very definite about that. -

Quote:Focus on single target attacks. Use the AoE on a as needed basis. You doing damage also helps your teammates need less support, things die quicker, and thus there is less time for you to get attacked yourself.I have recently made a defender that im basically focusing on healing/buffing, and some knockback cc for self protection. I dont really want to do dmg, because i dont want to get aggro, because i want to focus on team support...
Use inspirs wisely. Convert to the ones you will need most(purples, greens, and break frees) and try to have a proper amount of them for those "oh crap" times. Even having two small purples, two small greens and a BF will get you through most situations. Keep space open for more inspirs so you get the chance to have bigger ones drop.
If somebody dies, pop Vengeance, resurrect the fallen and enjoy giving you and your team huge def numbers. Vengeance tends to mean one person dies and that's it. Just don't be the one to die. -
Completely quick and dirty SO type of build. If people want to debate slots, I'm sure some can get moved. The fact that it isn't level 50 makes some things hard to fully slot out.

Quote:Just note I grabbed it from another poster who was the one who heard it from Posi. They even mentioned it could very likely change, but at that time Posi seemed rather against it. Odd in the fact that he said he wanted everything/as much as possible ported. I really don't think there's that much left to port. Two solid rounds at best and they would be done.Yeah, that's not the case.
1. Posi was the lead proponent of proliferation, even over Castle's objections.
2. Posi, if he's against it now, is no longer lead designer.
3. Proliferation generates player interest and pre-sold lots of GR. So, you know Production is pushing for it.
4. In the latest Ustream, they said proliferation is not dead, but maybe just not in I21, but maybe yes.

In regards to #3, so do new power sets and new power sets give better longevity versus the same sets on different ATs.
If Dark ever comes to controllers, it might as well kill defenders in my mind. Only /sonic and /ice will be worth rolling. Anything else can be had elsewhere and likely in better form. Elec control was the official death of Elec blast for me. I would love to see Dark/dark for blasters though. Even with the Rage crash, I think SS/sd scrappers would be fun as hell. -
-
Quote:Currently tied for highest level hardcore blaster in the Iron Eagle SG is a Fire/ice. Hardcore being if they die they get deleted.7) Fire/Ice Blaster.
Brute levels of dmg but even worse survivability than a stalker, not very fun imo.
To the OP, I think any epic AT has the most potential for end game goodness of the list. -
I haven't played DB on a stalker, but the changes were due to how stalkers are more burst based versus DPS based. To me Kin feels the best on stalkers. Add in the ability to recharge BU and it's one of the best sets for stalkers.
-
RttC boosts regen based on targets near the player. Just use that type of thinking, but change it to boost fury. I guess I don't really see how Ice melee would hamper fury that much, but then I never played it on a brute.
-
So far the level 24 Bruising Blow Acc/Dam have evaded me the most. I'm tempted to level the character just to give me more options in terms of levels. One sold at 11K so I went and bumped up my bids to 10K which is 2nd only to the 11K. Both of my other builds doing this are 22 and 26, so they can already go for higher level enhancements even if they aren't needed to be that high. FYI, there are 8 bids and half of them are mine. Not a single one being sold currently. Still waiting on getting a couple GotA level 24 Defs as well. I think those bids are like 100K and I know I'll be replacing those at some point even before the final IO build.
-
-
I don't get why Ice wasn't given a similar effect to RttC from WP so that they generate more fury as targets are around them.
-
Or a tank. Somehow I can all but laugh at the idea of a tank sneaking around. For some reason I have this cartoon version of it in my head. Here's this big guy going around on his tip toes. "Hulk sneak." (bust out laughing)
-
Quote:I also grab stacks of 10 uncommon salvage since you get a 1K from them and it's a good way to kick start somebody who is like level 3. I only put bids down of 1 influ. If something has 0 bids on it, bid 1 influ/infamy. Always. I got a level 30 recipe that way today. As a slight modification of this; once you sell the 10 a couple of times, you can start placing bids on level 50 Common IO Recipes instead. As an example, say you get 10 lvl 50 Recharge IO Recipes for 625,000 (62.5k per); selling them at any vendor gets you (IIRC) 107,500 per Recipe, so 45k a pop, 450,000 a trip (or 10x what you were making before).
Also, find a max level(whatever that might be) IO and look to see the price of the recipe and then look to see the sale price of the crafted IO. Aim for popular sets. Since builds get posted frequently, it shouldn't be hard to pick out a couple to look at. Back in the day, I abused the Devastation quad buying it for maybe 1 mil and sold the crafted at 10mill.
If you are poor, making 1+ mil on something is kind of nice. Build up to where you can grab stacks of 10 so you are getting 10+ mil for each stack sold. Rinse and repeat until you can move on to higher cost recipes that offer bigger rewards. For me 5-10 million profit on a IO I'm selling in mass is a good target to look for.
I even recently had a recipe I bought for 28 mill sell for 77 when crafted. I think another was bought at 3 mil and sold around 40-50+ mill. Not that you bank on that happening, but it's always nice when there are price surges. In both cases I was selling stacks of them. Yay me. -
Quote:I don't think every set is getting ported. Why? Some sets simply don't work on all related ATs. Knock yourself out thinking Regen works on a tank with SOs. It won't. I still have the belief the devs make new sets to offer similar options for other ATs so they can get a version that does work for them. Regen won't work on tanks. Hello Willpower. Add in this, there is no real reason why Ice/ice can't come to scrappers. They have no fury issue like brutes. So why don't they have it? Ice is known as the best set for aggro control. Look at /fa and /sr on a brute compared to scrappers in terms of taunt auras. The devs seem to be saying tanks and brutes can be known as sets for aggro control while a scrapper won't. Why give a melee set that's not being designed for aggro control a set that's largely known for it?For what reason? Is it just you think each AT should have something unique? The Inherents of each AT make enough of a difference IMO.
This says nothing of Posi saying at a con/show that ports were done. Just remember the last time ports happened was i16. The Incarnate issue with it being the main theme can't be used since they have made new sets versus ports. -

Quote:Friday Night Lights started there, IIRC, but a good generalization is CW is made for teenagers.Firstly, yay more Chuck!
Second ....
Ok, I can't really say much about it since I don't have TV have never watched most of the shows on their network, but the CW is the channel that puts out; Hellcats, The Vampire Diaries, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, and that new 90210 show right?
I mean I watch Supernatural via (legal) downloads and it's rather awesome, and I didn't much care for the first several seasons of Smallville but things can certainly pick up ... but are all the rest of those shows actually well done or is it a case of a couple reeealy good shows making up for a bunch of lousy ones? -

Assault gives 18.75% damage buff for defenders. It gives 15% for corrs. Not sure where your 50% comes from.
-
If you want to get a corr to 50 just for damage from reactive, then that's your call. If I'm doing it for the damage, I would rather roll Fire/cold, or Fire/storm though. Just remember that they could change how reactive works and thus cut way into the added damage one of the builds does.
