I'm starting to see why you've been chosen as a beta tester every time...
Now that's unnecessary.
I should have just qft your post and left it at that. -

Quote:The beta-testers during i13 WARNED the developers that the changes would KILL ladder PvP and would widen the gap between PvE and pvp as well as push people away from PvP and many out of subscription entirely.
Those that beta-tested AE WARNED developers that the reward system was BAD and would be abused by farmers and RMT'ers, many made some great alternative suggestions...they were ignored.
I remember when BotZ came out many beta-testers told devs Exhaustively that the bonuses were too high and they'd be abused...they were ignored.
I could go on..but those are some of the glaringly obvious things I could think of that the devs could have fixed just by LISTENING to what their beta-testers were saying.
My point, if the devs would listen to criticism and the insightfulness of their beta-testers; MOST of the exploits and nerfs that the devs have made could have easily been avoided and anticipated.
Not to wade knee deep into an i13 PvP debacle debate, but Castle has stated that his full measure of PvP changes were not green lighted due to time constraints, and he believed his complete slate of changes would be well received, or something to that effect, someone will post a link to his comments if it's important enough.
As far as suggestions in beta over AE/Botz etc being ignored, I think you have to rationalize the fact that there is a time table to get these issues to live servers, and as long as there are no major bugs and everything is generally working as intended, an issue will go live as planned with a package of various fixes coming some time afterwards.
The AE imps/rikti farms and the subsequent Posi backlash was an illustration of how that can go bad, but it's unlikely it happened because the devs didn't listen to testers input or because they just didn't care.
Like a lot of people I've been in all the c/betas and I know the devs are listening to feedback, sometimes they just do what they can to get an issue out there, and hope to revisit problems players raised when they have time.
It's not perfect, but then neither are we. ;] -
Personally I could never fit the bonus into a build so I never slotted them, plus I knew it had to be too good to last.

Quote:never going to happen. the dev's have stated that we are lucky to be able to save any at all. don't hold your breath on this one.
It's just a side wish, the respec process getting updated is the big QoL upgrade.
But I don't think 'never going to happen' is set in concrete anymore, like it used to be, so who knows, if there's enough interest generated they're willing to give whatever a look.
Some sort of Mids-style respec setup is what a lot of us, maybe most of us truthfully, are wishing for. -
Welcome, and actually I had to mention my dad's in his 50's and has always loved video games, still plays all the time, mostly flying and combat but he's tinkering with one of the civilization games lately.
Anyway have fun. -
So how'd it go.

Quote:After reading all the replies, I can't think of one single person who likes doing a respec. The few folks I know that actively do them are usually people who haven't been around that long and have no real idea of how much hassle it really is. I know I don't look forward to doing them at all, and really hate myself when I make a mistake in power selections because I wasn't paying attention at the time.
This certainly would be a great addition to the game's QoL.
Well said, I just helped my wife rework her claws/wp brute last weekend, and using mids was a breeze placing slots and IO's to just the setup to maximize how she wants to use it, but then the actual respec took easily twice as long, including the reorganizing of all your trays, temp powers/accolades/vet powers/pets.
Increasing the number of enhancement slots for storage during respec would also be a huge QoL upgrade, but one thing at a time. -
No definitive list of what improvements are going into GR even with summer around the corner, so still hoping some form of updated respec process is on someones desk, especially with powers changes, dual builds and any new IO's.

Don't, don't you want me?
You know I can't believe it when I hear that you won't see me

Of all the things they could add..... moving tails. Oh BOY I am so excited....
Talk about grinding my gears.
Anyone else not like this or are ya'll going to be runnin' around with moving things coming out of your hindquarters...
lol at the premise. There are two hundred cat themed characters created daily, not to mention the throngs of prominent ones already around, including my wife's.
Tails look stupid on any of my toons so I'm with you on that, but PStudios could've only scored a bigger hit if it were moving hair instead.

Quote:Well, everybody and their cat can complain how bad bad tankers are, we all can emphatically agree that bad tankers are useless, but... Well, how to get better?
No, really, it isn't trolling, it's a genuine question. I rolled my Shields/Elec with TFs in mind, but now all I do on him is farming Rikti in RWZ and declining team invites, especially if there's anything about "needing a tank". I don't want to be the worst player on the team... I seriously have no idea what exactly a tank is supposed to do to "hold aggro", or rather the thing I see others doing seems to me, well, patently impossible to do. How can anyone alternate between different targets WITH SUCH A SPEED? and how do you see what's happening in all that lightshow anyway? Lrn2play, I suppose, but... I don't want to be a team-ruining guy while I do learn. Especially on small EU servers where everyone knows everyone else.
Ok, sorry, just wanted to blow off steam... Having a tank seemed such a good idea, but it seems that the only way I can melee is scrapperlock, I need some distance between me and the baddies to have any sort of situational awareness... Well, /me goes to roll Cold/something defender or Something/cold troller... At least you can't miss ice shields vanishing from teammates.
It helps immensely to know the limits of what your AT can do, because you want to be aggressive without getting in over your head and pulling your team down the debt vortex with you.
So aside for setting your build up solidly and reaching it's reasonable potential, I'd suggest coming to a Tanker Tuesday once every first Tuesday of each month on Champion server.
It's the most awarded and longest running event in coh, and it's a blast teaming with all Tank groups, not to mention you'll be teaming with players who have extensive experience with the AT.
Don't give up, Tanking can be very superhero-ish and tons of fun.

The question is do you have the requisite drama gene, to fit in on Champion server.
Here's a normal healthy drama gene in the average Championite;
And here's what Lord Strykers gene looked like.
Unfortunately here's what his looked like after he became and Amish missionary (not recommended).
So you have a lot to live up to, though judging by your posts you're on your way.
Still, we'll expect a blood workup before we lower the force field (nicknamed the Drama Dome).

Sorry to hear that Squidy, and hope you get back soon.
If your hard drive wasn't effected by your m/boards death, you can use it on your next puter, assuming the sata/ide is compatable, but if the drive wont boot one of the very best data recovery tools is VirtualLab, it almost recovers too much data.
If you go that route I'd only pay for the amount of data recovered rather then the 500gb lump sum.
hope you get it fixed. =P
