that was a great toon idea. it's wacky, i was watching someone drop pa just last nite and i was guessing about how close i could get a costume to look. yours is way closer than i coulda dreamed. oh hey, i wonder if eckspet in poo form knows wave of terra? she's my main squeeze nowadays. she was never a pet (unless you wanna call the gods her owner/caster), but she does go after shins. but only as finishing moves. she opens with stone mallet to that "special place". her height is perfect for it. not a regen, but the most fun and laffs i've had by far in the last 14 months.

my i6 fantasy nerfs:
- integration: changed integration to a click power with a 90s duration and 750s recharge fully enhanceable; all other aspects of the power remain unchanged.
- revive, initial test version: changed revive to restore full health, full endurance, and the state of all toggle to pre-death state; all click powers active during death will be restored at full duration; added a 666 yd, 5 second pbaoe attack (bi of 1.0 unenhanceable) with disorient and taunt to the beginning of the power's activation; changed the revive animation time to 3 minutes; changed the recharge time to 3 minutes fully enhanceable.
- revive is then changed 2 weeks after hitting live to sf's recommended i5 version (requiring endurance to activate); the power is then swapped in the power order with quick recovery.
- ih is changed to provide a base 70% resistance to smashing/lethal/fire/cold/nrg/negative/toxic (fully enhanceable) with enhanced endurance recovery and status protection for the duration of the power; at the start of i6 its duration will be 60s, but after an unspecified time live the duration will be changed to 90s; after the duration expires health will be reduced to 10% and endurance will be reduced to 0, both unalterable for the duration of recharge (750s fully enhanceable) by any means.
- base hp total for all scrappers using the regeneration secondary has been changed to 1/1.4 of current base.
- geko creates a separate thread in the dev forum 3 weeks after i6 hits test to explain why quick recovery has not been changed; he discusses how the power is part of the set's theme and to reduce it would mean that all non-defensive scrapper secondary utility powers would have to be reduced by comparable amounts. -

self for teh win. so now we know who our real true hero is. yep, you guessed it.

Because the whiniest bunch of losers in the game (scrappers and tankers) didn't like being held, debuffed and gelded like the weaklings they actually are.
[/ QUOTE ]
uh...yeah. i guess that quote says all i would feel the need to say about your sentiment. do yourself a favor and walk away for a little while. come back when descriptions like "emotional", "embarassing", and maybe even "not very nice" won't apply so well to your own rebuttals. while you're away, ask yourself if you really think that your ability to debuff +def-based sets is a game-breaking issue in light of the observation that those +def-based sets themselves are...how could i say this nicely..."not very viable at all, period for a list of reasons" in the arena. there's no dev confirmation yet that anything you're claiming about defender and controller abilities versus this new change is even the case.
this kind of sentiment--especially here on this particular thread of help for +def sets--is sad to see. -

Is Rooted supposed to be Minerals?
[/ QUOTE ]
good question. i'd wait for an official dev response on that, but since rooted gives no +def and minerals is the only +def-based power in the set that wasn't mentioned...i'd say yepper. -
rock on, states. do these resistances stack like armors do? i'm guessing so...but just asking to be sure. also, is this the total of "a little more to come" that you mentioned the other day (about addressing defense build issues), or is there...still a little more to come?
-
thanks for your guide eso! you rock (harhar)! my observations so far...i'm having more fun with these two sets nowadays than any in my life in coh to date. (example: i can't resist goofball crap like emoting the rock/paper/scissors animation for rock and holding it up while i pose in armors.) and so far...rock armor, rooted, and earth's embrace are making for a great foundation for me at the earlier levels that i've been through (dinged 22 last nite w00t!). i've run just those three all the way to 22. i love it. last night i had a rough choice though...stone skin, mudpots, brimstone, or crystal? what to choose? argh too many choices lol! after some thought and more reading, i went with stone skin (call me a fool!). i'm going to see how a mix of resist and +def for s/l helps me, and i'm going to depend more on rooted's regen to help me deal with non s/l for a few more levels. don't worry, i won't forget to carry a handful of lucks w/me still while i test out my hairbrained ideas .
man, my anticipation for granite has sort of changed too...at first glance it seemed that when i reached level 32 i could respec and work in granite, allowing me to remove other powers if needed. the more i read/learn/experience with the set though, the more my impression's changed. i'd love to take all the primary powers i can eventually. with stone armor it's sounding like you can still do this at the cost of an extra power or two (compared to skipping/dropping powers once granite is worked in)...while gaining some helpful defensive flexibility between the two modes. if that's right (i'm just going off of powers info and the #s, i've got no personal experience yet) then it might mean some great flexibility in the set. in any case, so far the set looks beautifully designed. kudos to geko's crew for that.
as for the i5 #s, i just got permission so i'll throw in a link to buffy's collection of tank test #s (thanks a ton, buffy!). here's the link. as for stone armor, here's a copy/paste from that section of his post:

there's some great advice in there too, so anyone interested ought to take a look.
you know, it's sorta funny how i wound up here. i started the game in i2, playing with friends in rl. we all rolled blasters for an all-blaster group. being new *and* being blasters, we made many warm/fuzzy memories...i'll just say 'families that are horizontal together stay together'. after a few months i started to focus more on alts, and one of them was a scrapper concept build. this quickly became my main. i learned two things about myself in the months following: 1) i love melee, and 2) i couldn't seem to get enough defense. i guess scrapping for so long made for a light whisper that "i am really a tank in scrapper clothes at heart". in the last few months, i started to run my tank alts more often. a special combo got me hooked though...stone/stone. i have more fun with this toon than i've ever had with any other. a year+ of the game has taught me that my true love is tanking, and while all of the tank sets are gorgeous, stone/stone so far is my absolute favorite combo.
thanks again for the good guidance y'all! -

This is insanely awesome. You can now make a CoH Screenie Web gallery that will auto-sort itself. Just take your screenshot, upload it, and BAM, it's in the right place. I loves it!

yes! this is the exact thing i saw in my head when poz mentioned it: hero photo galleries. and how funny would it be to build galleries on the normal photo gallery sites where folks usually put their real-life galleries? galleries may not have been the original intent, but in one quick move the coding team casted fortitude on the community . mad props again for that. -
poz is in da house! this is awesome, thanks. from one machine to another:

And the link that someone had posted for EBGames for the pre-order "collector's edition" was like $80. Is that right? WTH is with that price tag?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because theres more stuff? Like every other Collector's Edition that has come out in the past year?
The extra stuff in the Collector's Edition will at least include 7 CoH/CoV HeroClix figurines. It's up to you to decide whether that is incentive to buy the Collector's Edition. It is not required.
[/ QUOTE ]
Clintonian....normally your info is spot on, however on EBGames' website, they don't say anything about HeroClix figures.
[/ QUOTE ]
ahah! after feeling like a jack[censored] for pm'ing a certain redname, i think i found our answer, at least for the time being. go back to the deluxe edition page and look way way down at the bottom. the page for gamestop at least has this at the bottom, lawyer-style:
* Collector's Edition Content to be determined
...looks like the less-rabid fans that can wait a while until the extras are known might win out on this one . as for me i'm fighting my click finger hard...it wants the reg edition that it knows about...and now. -
i have to agree about the confusion part. it's sort of hard to understand the need or reasoning for this. my best guess...this is meant to create a weakness in stealth powers that defensive toons can compensate for, by providing an additional amount of stealth (specifically a +def that isn't negated by aggro) to a teammate that's not available to that teammate alone? sort of like the idea of melee-ers not able to hit their caps without teammate help? if that's true then i'm personally all for that idea intent-wise. it's just hard to follow when the +def on pool stealth was cut down so much already.
as far as enemies seeing you or not, it doesn't sound like that's going to change a whole lot...i hope i'm right on that. because if this change means more aggro than before in the same situations then the survivability of less-beefy toons are going to be very sensitive to it. on live, every time i attack with stealth on, my target and most of his buddies aggro anyway (maybe surrounding baddies aggro slower, but i haven't noticed a big difference). i always figured it was because the target fires/swings back and that's always increased the chance of aggroing surrounding baddies regardless of stealth.
i'd just say please be careful with the aggro thing in pve most importantly. the survivability of close to half of the ats/set combos (ie. anything that's not melee) can be affected greatly. -
it's on the digest now. states...thx for keeping the comm line open. best of luck to your brother.
p.s. and as one of evilgeko's evil brothers in greenness i second his note about...being that special shade of hero green. =) -
umm...no! don't go there! esp. not the champion page! ok ok j/k, i guess having our mugs out for all the world to see isn't the end of the world. while we're talkin about cohfaces, great job to the new admin that saved the site from the bitbucket. you rock, gasmask admin man.
wzap r! can't express how sweet it is to have you and d back. teams w/angelsfist and y'all are the shzziay. i'm about to log on and hunt y'all down for some more pve pwnZr action. about d and r: they are block-rockin. geniunely great friends to roll with, and they surround themselves with equally great, fun friends. about me: i work in the same bldg as d. in rl, and he and pfister got me hooked on coh last july. i am still plotting revenge for that.
and oh...shouts to champion and some of the coolest folks around! -
On behalf of both me and the COH Monkey(tm) on my back we'd like to say happy anniversary and thanks for the most addictive and most safest addiction we've ever been addicted to.
