But i think all the AE farming really is making really bad players for the other content.
Don't get me wrong. I love PLing, farming, and IO'ing out my characters. I don't RP, i don't like telling anyone how to play there game. I just thought id say maybe those of us farmers out there can take a little more care in who we invite to our teams.
Last night i did a synapse TF on Freedom. A pretty well rounded team, balanced, and pretty fluent in terms of moving along at a good pace. Well, 8 people started, only 5 finished. We went down to 5 after about 45 mins. Players that were invited to a TF, who knew there were being invited to a TF that were going to be exemplared down to level 20, had no idea why they were getting no XP, and didn't even know the benefit of the task force commander accolade and 50 or so merits you get upon completion.
It's unbelievable what people get themselves into, with no regard for the team or task at hand.
I hate to blame AE, but it's hard not too.
So, all i am saying is....don't pl with the n00bs, they are probably leaching in your farms anyway.

Some people have asked a number of my characters in the game to fill in temporarily, and I always ask them why. They then say that it's so the spawns in the mission they're about to enter will be both tougher and bigger. When I ask them why didn't they just change their difficulty level to get the same results, only a few said they were already at the highest possible difficulty level. But most were on, so they said, Heroic. I always turn them down.

I'm pretty sure that turning up your difficulty from Heroic to Invinicible still won't spawn a map with the same number of spawns as an 8-person team would do, Anime. They might be looking for even-cons in higher numbers, which can be a different challenge than higher-cons available by increasing your difficulty.

yeah, for a lvl 50, if they want all level 50 minions and some lts, they probably want to keep it on heroic. If they go to invince, they will spawn bosses, lts and minions at lvl 52. The difficulty settings will alter the type of spawn, as well as their level. -
That's good to know. Randoms are pretty cheap compared to 200 merits in one shot. I figured you can get some good coin for them.
-
What about picking your recipe vs the random roll. Do you find that you get good enough stuff from the random roll to sell what you don't need in order to buy what you want for less time spent?
-
great links, i think that helps me out quite a bit.
-
yes i did mean merits. i will edit my post to avoid confusion.
-
I ran some low level story arcs recently. Basically did my atlas, galaxy city and some hollows contacts. I earned a total of 13 mission merits. Not that i really want to get recipe's yet on my lvl 16 controller, but curious what the most efficient way of earning tickets is later on so i can get some rare stuff. Basically how can i get the most out of my time, even if its repeating content over and over.
-
yeah, but that doesn't send a message to the people doing the spamming.
-
very cool, i wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the info.
-
can i open the notes in game and view it through the game like email?
-
Limit is a pretty good idea. At least to see how much it cuts down on the spam.
-
I use email to send my alternate characters all sorts of stuff. Weather it is a build suggestion i may have just received, AE arc number, or just making a list of which AV's Ive conquered.
It would be cool to have a note pad that i type some things down, that would be accessible to all of my characters when i logged in. -
I like having the ability to email my friends, and especially my alternative characters. That said, I did some brainstorming and came up with some things that maybe could help the general population that will satisfy 99% of the concerns. Whether or not this can be implemented, a red name would have to confirm.
We need customization, and make it impossible for spammers. So I want to add some options and tabs to the current email system.
Option 1 Enable or disable (if you choose disable you have no need for the additional options below, as you will receive no email, and send no email)
Option 2 Filter Options Yes or No. If you choose no, you will receive all email as you currently do, spam included. If you choose yes, you get more options.
Option 3 Global Channel (Receive or Not Receive) This filter will enable or disable everyone on your global list to send and receive email to the character you are currently logged on.
Option 4 Global Channels (separate tabs for each channel) Receive or not receive. Basically anyone who is a member of the same global chat channel will be able to email your character.
Option 5 - Super group members (yes or no option to allow super group members to email your character.
Option 6 - Coalition (yes or no) sames as above
These are just the filter options mind you.
Everyone else who does not fit into the criteria above requires mutual consent between the characters. So if Inc is teamed with bigmeat, Inc can right click his teammate and request to be added to safe sender list. This will add both players character names to the safe senders list or their corresponding safe lists, thus enabling them to send email.
Also Would need the ability to email any characters on your own account.
Realistically, you only email people who you are friends with or teamed with anyway (or like me, my own characters).
To simplify they can make it mutual consent first for everyone, but that will be harder to do when peoples play times are different, so i think categorical options will be good.
Yes, it will be more time consuming, but people who have the time to send in game email, have the time to properly set their parameters. -
Maybe something like this will be more suitable for your 50

hey is there a mission blue side similar to the red side nemesis platform mish that spawns a lot of baddies regardless of how many ppl are on team?
I'm thinking about going back form AE to old school drops because i think custom mobs have more tools then the regular AI, and because the purples are so darn hard to get buying them. -
Can you pm me a the arc id, id like to throw a team together and test it.
-
i got my mission to work. Even level bosses spawned when i was solo at challenge level 2, plus 1 bosses at challenge 3, and +2 bosses at challenge level 5 (didn't try level 4). I only placed bosses in the mission.
I find it to be challenging playing solo. Pretty good XP, although defeating the map takes a VERY long time. -
what setting do they need to be to spawn equal level bosses?
i was toying around with an arc last night. I chose boss only, and had my settings on heroic. The boss spawned as a LT. I then put it on invincible, and they spawned as bosses two levels higher than me. I did not play with the other difficulty settings, but i thought id mention it because of this thread. -
why dont you simply global ignore him to get his handle name, then unignore him and send a tell to his handle. When he logs back into the game, he will see your message and you should start up a dialog.
Also, the game is working as intended. That is exactly how SG's work. It was probably a poor decision to blind invite people to your SG. You never know what your getting.
Good Luck

I defeated a couple of freakshow bosses in a AE map last night. Same thing happened. No health, but still standing there.
I was on Blue side. -
don't blame you...AE farming gets boring, and old Pling just sucks the life out of you. Go elec/elec for as much drainage as you can, and use that nuke for cheap kills.
-
how about electric/Mind - Drain psyche, short circuit, slotted VS for drain, ranged nuke etc....?
