Quote:People use Hand Clap?Spiritual is actually better for Regen- I found Vigor to be tailormade for Willpower instead.
A Spiritual Total Radial Revamp gives you 33% to Recharge and Healing, and 20% to To Hit Buffs, even 16.5% to stun for Hand Clap or say Boxing. Vigor's Accuracy and End redux aren't needed as much as Recharge by a regen. -
Quote:Why would anyone take that slow set over SS? Double-stacked rage + Fiery Embrace + Footstomp = loleverything. Not to mention tohit that is insanely high. So, your argument is that SS can be combined with another powerset, and a specific epic pool, to form an attack chain with the best powers from 2 powersets (1 from SS itself) and arguably the highest DPS attack in any epic pool for a brute; in addition to 2 damage buff powers...and all that is ALMOST as good as the top DPS attack chain from TW, which is so tight for recharge that adding an attack without the weapon would cause you to lose momentum and cost you DPS?
Thanks for making my point all the more exascerbated.
I am not discounting SS/FA...but I am tired of people comparing a set with 3 great powers...(Rage/FS/KOB) to TW...only by combining it with other sets. I love SS, it might be my favorite brute primary...but it is time to call a spade a spade.
I will let you prove it, here is the challenge Tommy:
(1) Roll 2 toons 1 TW/Regen and 1 SS/Regen
(2) Slot the 2 with identical common powers and only the primary sets as differences
(3) You may take any epic pool powers, but you may not use attacks from those pools, only primary power attacks in your attack chain.
(4) Record each Pylon run, you may have 5 for each toon.
(5) Compare the best times from both toons and the average times of both toons.
(6) Come back and tell me, "I guess you were right, SS is like 60-80 DPS light compared to TW"
When you compare the 2 objectively, there is no comparison. I can build any TW with enough recharge to do the top DPS chain...you MUST have FA and Gloom to do it with SS and even then you come up short.
Whether you like it or not, TW is THE best DPS set for a brute or any other melee. Period. There is not a discussion to be had...and SS is a very DISTANT second. TW is not even one of my top 3 favorite sets for brutes...but, even I cannot deny that it is an absolute monster, if you can build it, master it, and fuel it.
So, you can keep comparing a complete toon, purpose built for one purpose, to a primary powerset, or come out of the cave you're in and see the light. Either way, my post was accurate...run the numbers...SS with anything but FA is not even in the same zip code for DPS as TW with ANY secondary. So go run this little challenge, and try to prove me wrong, but work out an attack chain with KOB for ST DPS that is even close...
Let's see, that would go something like this...KOB...(recharging)...KOB...(recharging)...K OB...
See my point? -
Turns out the Gamespot on Post carries the 60 day timecards.

At least there's more jobs opening up in my area, sure they get filled up, but it's a start. I'll be checking out Walmart either tonight or tomorrow.

Or giving them an excuse to go petless and just take/slot out the weak blasts.

Somehow I doubt such a simple fact like that would stop the devs, even if it should. Probably some TF or event that's limited time where you attack Wade before he goes full Rularuu or something and all the power he stole gets re-distributed back amongst those who lost it.

I'm looking at the regen debuff resistance right now for scrappers on the creation screen and don't get me wrong, but 11.25% regeneration debuff resistance is just not enough. Integration and Resilience should get access to the same regen debuff resistance as well. Why not give some to Health from Fitness as well?
Invuln, Elec Armor, Fiery Aura, and Ice Armor get passives that grant resistance to slow and -recharge, yet Regen has no such resistance in any of it's passives, which really makes using the heal, DP, IH and even MoG more unreliable than they should be.
edit: I just looked at WP and you gotta be kidding me. Resistances, defense, and Regen? Nevermind that resurgence is actually cool and Revive is like, a large Wakie on a 5 minute cooldown.
My Katana/SR who has Aid Self and Elude sometimes uses the former when hit and has never used the latter. My Claws/Regen however pretty much struggles to even survive if the spawn has several hard hitters. Cim was a shining example of how even IH could be overcome with a few broadswords smacking you in the face almost all at once. Reconstruction, Dull Pain, Instant Healing, Moment of Glory and maybe Revive. 5 out of 9 powers that are heavily affected by -recharge, 4 of which are so crucial to survival that most Regens slot up for not just extra regen, but more global recharge reduction just to have a better shot at surviving. What's the overall most useful primary for Regen? Dark Melee, because it adds an extra self-heal in the form of Siphon Life and every hit adds tohit debuff, lessening the chance you'll get hit super hard, and Touch of Fear to take a nasty critter out of the fight. Not to better kill like a Brute or Scrapper, but just to help survive an encounter.
That is how much regens are suffering and anyone who says otherwise should be forced to level a */regen and go through the normal content with the occasional TF and not use IOs because sets throw off data for purposes of balancing. IO sets should not be required just to function as well as another secondary in the AT like SR or WP. -

Holy crap, that's quite a tall order. Doesn't Virtue have it's own badge hunter channel? I mean, I know I could make a dark/dark brute redside and quickly get the AP and KR mayhems, since those levels go by the fastest.
If you'd prefer, you could contact me in-game via global: @Proton Sentinel
It'd have to be tomorrow though, as it is kinda late, but I could at least level the character up to 9 to hold onto the AP mayhem. -

Quote:Go figure they'd be on Amazon. I'm weary of using prepaid credit cards to be honest, activation fees of a few extra bucks might not seem like much, but my current situation leaves me with little money.I found the time cards in stock at the first website I searched, and they don't charge any shipping if you're order is over $25 bucks.

The heck? My name was Golden and shown as VIP for like, 5 minutes? -
Quote:Ranged pets would do well to have all their melee attacks removed. Just replace brawl with another ranged power that fits the concept. For Spec Ops, give them something other than Rifle Butt, and for the Medic, give him the normal attacks that non-medic soldiers get. It's not just TPN. You try running Keyes on a Bots/Traps and tell me how much 'fun' it is. Or a BAF, where the pets run where the hell they will, and then get Tower Sniped. Or a lambda, where they INSIST on running in to punch Marauder in the face. Despite the fact they are Bots. With lasers. And Rockets. And oh look, Nova Fist, all dead. Oh well, respawn th- why am I catching artillery in the face?!
Playing a Bots/Traps MM, for one, is just too painful in Incarnate content. Why? Because not only does it punish MMs a helluva lot, BUT THE PET AI IS STILL PANTS ON HEAD! Dear lord, it's been fecked since Demons came out, and still fecked when Beasts came out. I haven't touched my MM in ages, because it makes it so gods damned NOT FUN when I order my pets to do something and they IGNORE ME. I tell them to attack something, they go and brawl it in the face!
Is that hard to understand why it sucks like crazy?
For Bots it just boils down to replacing Brawl with a slug-like power from Beam Rifle or whatever. Until the Mastermind Pet AI is fixed to not be completely moronic, this is the best suggestion I can make for ranged-using MMs. Oh, and remove Poison Dart from Ninjas Tier 2 pets, what a waste of Hide.
Of course go figure the Necro/Dark or really Necro/Demons/Beasts/Ninjas primaries as a whole are useless due to being melee. -
Quote:This is going to take longer than I had originally hoped.I had to go physically find the NCSoft time cards in Best Buy, myself.
They didn't know what they looked like, and somebody had stuck them into the offline games section instead of the MMO time card section, probably because they have the same case as a PC game and the most prominent things on there are the art and game names with a "meant to be obvious" clock symbol and number of days(not very obvious or intuitive, especially to the oblivious) on the bottom quarter.
Searching the sites and they keep saying out of stock and such. This is getting more aggravating by the minute. NCSoft time cards are like, rarer than gold it seems. -
Quote:Thanks, and yeah I know Gamestop can be kinda stupid too, I worked there myself for a while.GameStop definitely sells NCSoft time cards, but the employees are often dumb and don't know that they carry them (or what they look like).
Source: I work part time at GameStop.
They look like this, FYI:
I appreciate all the information. -
I recall years back when BaB said the reason PToDs were added was because the options were either PToDs or have the players get taunted like well, the taunt power.
So ummm, now that we can be taunted all over in many places, can the PToDs be taken away? -
I've been thinking of subbing up again after a several year vacation from CoX. However, I'm not comfortable putting credit/debit card information out at this point in time and can't seem to find a gamestop where they sell an NCSoft game timecard. Now, I'm asking this here because I don't know where else to ask and searching the knowledge base didn't explain clearly enough, but could I use an Ultimate Game Card as a method of payment?
I know they're like prepaid credit cards, but even I'm not sure if that would be done via a redeem code, purchasing enough Paragon Points to buy a few months worth of VIP or what. -

But I don't think that increasing the soft control will make it "the set for people who suck at playing doms". I honestly think it'd add an interesting dimension by making it the dom set that allows you to take stuff out of the fight by simply attacking it, as long as the damage wasn't so anemic.
[/ QUOTE ]
But the thing is that it's sacrificing damage. Its AoE damage will always be bad, and having only two melee attacks and Power Boost instead of Build Up means it will never match Electricity Assault.
By choosing Energy Assault you are sacrificing damage for extra control, which only makes sense if your primary is not enough to assure your survival. But for a good Dominator player it is, so Energy becomes the set for the bad Dominator player.
Perhaps having such a set is appropriate and I just have to learn to live with the fact that it's not for me.
[/ QUOTE ]Correct me if I'm wrong, but Bone Smasher and Total Focus do mostly energy damage, but Havoc Punch and Thunderstrike do mostly smashing damage according to the real numbers.
Is that even right? I mean, Elec's two melee heavy hitters doing almost purely smashing damage doesn't seem like a bright idea. -

This is NOT an anti-farming thread. Please post anti-farming comments elsewhere
We all know farming has been here since day 1 (apparently) and it isn't going to go away anytime soon. I am fine with that.
We also know a lot of players are upset with the visual appearance of increased farming since the introduction of the mission architect.
I have a possible solution that I thought I would throw out there for discussion.
Remove the AE buildings from Atlas Park, Steel Canyon and Talos.
Those that want to be farmed will then go to other zones. Lowbies can head over to Galaxy for their farms.
This brings Atlas Park back to it's former visual appearance, without all the 'looking for AE farm' messages being spammed in broadcast. Atlas will go back to the zone for costume contests, sewer team sign-ups, other competitions/events, etc. A large chunk of the zone lag will be reduced.
I also suggested removing the AE from Talos and Steel Canyon, as they are common transit zones (and Talos used to be a lag-fest prior to the AE).
This means players won't have to delete broadcast from their chat box, they won't be fronted with it when rolling a new character in Atlas, new players will be born in Atlas without all the farm messages in their face and might actually look to do some of the original content that does not consist of farming and enjoy some of the arcs that were created by the devs.
*throws thread open for discussion*
[/ QUOTE ]Just because you can't stand Atlas Park doesn't mean you have to make all my lowbie heroes suffer because they always start at GC, my PBs aside.
Don't like the lag in AP? Then go to GC then, it's simple.
As for Steel and Talos, well those zones are only bad in WWs and specific spots during invasions.
There is Skyway and IP, you know. -

the run away AI is annoying, but as much as it pains me to say it.....
ISNT THAT WHAT WE DO?
[/ QUOTE ]Yeah we do, but do we run away the second a hellion smacks us inside a mission for barely any health and then eventually wander back and wait to be pounded on? -

Ok, I'm new, so take my opinion for what it's worth.
If you were snagging some old lady's purse...and Superman showed up and punched you in the face...would you turn and face him for a showdown or haul outta there?
To me it adds a bit of realism...it ain't easy to chase 'em down...but it seems to me to make sense.
This from a guy who is level 6 and has played 4 hours. Sooo...feel free to discount this post as you feel is appropriate.
[/ QUOTE ]None of our heroes are on the same level as superman. When a bunch of hellions run from my level 3 peacebringer, I question the AI. Don't get me started on when AVs like Rommy from the ITF decide to run like a little girl.
