Blasters are long over do for another secondary i think with the edition of kinetic melee blasters should get an offshoot of it probably named Kinetic Manipulation. no real solid ideas for any unique powers in it but i'm sure the devs/players could come up with some powers that would be unique to it that arnt part of the kinetic melee set.
-
The only real benifit i could see would be using it before using the self heal for super heal but thats about it.
-
The point remains more valid then if defensive toggles aren't affected by it it'd be a mostly useless power since as mentioned Scrapper primaries dont really have many secondary effects that would benefit from powerboost and those that would it'd be pointless since it'd be a skip power since theer wouldn't be any benifit to it. the jump bonus is negligible, it isn't enough to make it not just another clone of the power, i'm not trying to discount it i'm just saying they could make a more rounded passive.
Quote:Well, something I forgot to add was that it was confirmed that powerboost would not effect self-buff armor toggles and such.
And actually it's not a clone of SR, mental training, and lightning reflexes, those do not give jump bonuses and also buff recharge rate. -
I'm on board with some of these i still personally think that Blinding Powder works just fine.
Though with power boost it'd more or less just being a bastardized version of shadow meld since it would boost your defensive values for 15 seconds not much else would really get enough of a benefit from this since not alot of scrapper primaries have any enhanceable secondary effect.
i could do without the ninja quikness since thats basically just a rehashed quickness/mental training/lightning reflexes.
Quote:Yes it has.
And considering some of the forethought that did need to be put into it, it would take more than just a little bit of minor retooling.
For the sake of redundancy and since I'm here anyway... (And you know, to update it anyway) -
I'm sure this has probably already been suggested before but i think this would make a fine addition for scrappers with very minor retooling.
Replace hide with a passive defense power that grants a minor defense buff to all positional to fill the minor defense hole left by aforementioned power. It could be just a flat defense buff or have a minor secondary effect like a global recharge buff or whatever else the devs feel would lend well to the power.
The only other thing i could see possibly replacing is smoke flash though i have no real solid opinion on the power having never actually used it.
Having a defense set with a self heal, a slow/damage patch, and a cone confuse/to-hit debuff power would be a nice addition to the set plus it would fit thematically nice with Katana and Martial Arts.
Suggestions? Comments? Issues? i'd be interesting to see what the scrapper community thinks of this idea though like i said i doubt this is the first time this has been suggested. -
My question is with the few chain based attacks will procs work in them since unless its rescently been fixed i know that for Chain Inductions from electric melee any procs in it break the power.
So if I say put the Contagious Confusion proc in Synaptic Overload would it work or would the power be broken and only effect one target?
Also even though it probably would have little effect would the Fortunata's Hypnosis chance to placate function or even be worht slotting in Static Field? -
I think that it would be more thematically appropriate and also would increase the viability of taking this power if it had an added aoe effect similar to Demoralize effect thats present in the Assassin's powers.
Thematically it adds a "Oh my god, why is he getting up again!?" sort of fear that causes people to run for safety or be deeply shaken by the inability to stop their foe despite their best effort.
Viability wise it'd give the user a better chance of getting up and not being instantly gibbed by any nearby mobs, much how Rise of the Phoenix has its fire damage/stun/invincibility effect and Soul Transfer has its Stun I think the addition of a Demoralize or AOE Terorrize effect would greatly improve this power.
Now i know some people will say "what about Revive? it's got no mitigation in it." well to that i shrug and say I don't know but it makes sense (to me at least) for Resurgence to have some sort of shaking effect on the enemies near by the person that wont just go down instead of "Oh hey, he's getting up." *gun shot* "Stupid capes" *goes for coffee* -
i'd provide more info if i knew what i needed to provide that i'm running Windows Vista Ultimate.

When attempting to save my options (not apply but save to the option file) i get the message "UnableOptionSave" does anyone know how to rectify this? I wonder if its also linked to why my log in screen wont keep my characters in the order i set them in.

Today while teaming with my friend i was side kicked up to 47 and in the mob there was a 49 Boss LBW I died in one hit after taking some damage.
For Clarification i was on a Corruptor her hp was 1059 and this was the combat message i was greated with
Longbow Warden blasts you with Total Domination for 943.27 points of damage and attempts to put you to Sleep!
correct me if i'm wrong but has an AOE hold always done that much damage to squishes?
also on spines wardens was quills range always 40ft? -
That might be why, i'm running Windows Vista (shudder) now (unfortunately) and i've noticed its anal with the program files folder considering it starts off frelling hidden.

I believe that this power should change and get the same treatment that Midnight Grasp (and if i'm not mistaken a few other powers did), namely front load the damage instead of making it a high DOT power since most of the time its damage is wasted on an enemy that is dying or at least that is my personal experience with the power. For me that'd make it more useful since it always feels under powered when used in my attack chain. Bring the bulk of the damage in the initial hit and then have it give a lower dot hit and a slower pace.

At the server screen lately it seems no matter how many times i change the order in which my characters are displayed at the server screen (i usually go by lv and order created) it always resets back to what it previously was next time i log in.

So before they shut down the black market i had posted a ragnorok proc and a few other items that dissapeared. does anyone know if i do a help ticket in game if they'll do anything about it or am i just SOL?
-
I dont know whats happened but when i log on and get the server select screen whenever i chose a server it sits there and does nothing for a minute or so then the game client shuts itself off. Even when i relaunch the loader the game doesn't auto verify like its suffered a crash so i've tried verifying the files and i'm still running into this problem.

Quote:Its good to hear that, I wanted to be careful that this thread didn't turn into "Steiner sucks because he hasn't gotten anything out." I just wanted to put this idea out to the fanbase since i'm sure the work must be hard to try and update and change things in the existing program and if we can sucker the devs into doing it crack addicts like me dont have to worry where their next fix is coming from XD.Mids' will not be going open source.
While Mids' will not be going open source, there's nothing stopping a group of players creating their own planner which is. While it would have to be from scratch, "from scratch" is what I'm doing for cross-platform Mids'.
Steiner and I are also reworking the Data Chunk/Data Link specification for the cross-platform version (at the moment, it's little more than the text of the build in ZIP format). After which, it'll be integrated into the normal Mids' so that both programs can read the same data. I'm sure it would be in the interests of all of us to have that specification public, so that any future programs created can also read the same data.
It does
This is incorrect, and insulting. I can assure you that Steiner continues to work on Mids'. He has already released one version with some broken features, and he continues to work on it to fix those problems. Saying that he's probably blown it off all togehter is flat out wrong. -
I know that it would be more work for the devs but its something that once it was in place they woudln't have to constantly work at it, again I'm not software engineer but if they made it in a way where all they had to do was upload any power changes they made for the game whenever they happened it wouldn't be high maintenance unless they made it as an in-game interface. Despite whatever changes may have happened in the game I feel the devs have been pretty good at listening to what the fans would like to see to enhance their experience of the "City of" franchise, so I feel that if enough people tell the devs "Hey we really would like a character builder." it would stand a descent chance of happening.
-
Steiner has taken over the work mids retrired from. No offense to him even though I'm sure he's working hard at it especially since no one is paying him to do this, but so far all we've gotten is reasons on why its not out. Now before anyone says I'm underestimating the workload involved in updating this extensive program i'm not. I know i sure as hell couldn't program it or bring it up to date, but my biggest concern as a mids brand cocaine addict is that with i16 coming out sooner or later not having an up to date build planner for the proliferations and pvp sets as well as the power changes on doms is gonna make maximizing my characters more difficult.
-
I think it would be a great asset to players if the devs would either a ingame build planner for characters with an interface similar to the AE mission creator, or a seperate program that the players could download and utilize. With I16 on the horizon the fan base has been left without an up to date build planner since mids retired and even though I dont fault him since he's doing the work for free but stiener has yet to produce anything we can use. having constantly up to date numbers and correct pvp stats would be fantastic.
-
One step further would just be to have a option when leveling "is this build for pvp?" and it blocks out allt he useless powers but people can leverage the damnedest things, so you never know.
