Character Order

At the server screen lately it seems no matter how many times i change the order in which my characters are displayed at the server screen (i usually go by lv and order created) it always resets back to what it previously was next time i log in.

Did you check the box on the login screen "Remember Account Name"? It only saves the character order if you check that box. Why? I dunno.

Do you have Remeber Account Name checked?

That has to be checked, or it won't remember the order.

If you do, and it's still resetting, then you need to set the file playerslot to read-only after setting the order of your characters.

Because the file used to store your character list is save in a folder with the same name as your account name. Without that checked, the game won't look for that folder to find the playerslot file.

i never uncheck it. it's been checked always.

i notice this happen sometimes after going to a server i have never been on or haven't gone to in a long time. this may sound wierd but try a disc clean up and defragt if you haven't done one in a while.

Another point of consideration is that Win7 and Vista dislike things in the Program Files folders being tampered with.

If you do not find a solution, try reinstalling CoX into:

C:\Games\City of Heroes
