  1. Thanks for the well wishes folks!
  2. On December 27th, starting at Noon EST, I will be hosting a series of TFs to celebrate my 32nd birthday. We'll be starting off with Lord Recluse's Strike Force, followed up with Barracuda's, Imperious', Lady Grey's, Apex's and Tin Mage's. The only solid timing will be for the first TF, then we'll just follow suit as the team reforms. I won't be taking sign-ups but I will be announcing each TF start on the Guardian and Level 50 channels, so keep an eye out for some fun!

And while the plot hole wasn't the exact same as what I thought it was...it was still bad and still related to the same thing.

The only thing I've heard actually praised about this movie is the music and the flashiness being something appealing to watch while high. I can't comment on the latter but the former it was only an alright sound track.

And I remember someone saying that "it showed new computer stuff"... No it didn't, and if you saw something that did then it shouldn't have been in the movie. The system they are on is from the 80s. It couldn't have because it wasn't updated with the latest tech or even moderately new tech soooo yeah no it didn't, and if it did it shouldn't have.

I was expecting a bad story, got worse, and I was expecting a fun ride and instead got a snooze fest with what 4 action scenes that clearly shows the director doesn't understand how to make things exciting.

    So...

Potential: 5/5 in terms of all movies
Expecting: 3/5 for the demographic it was going for
    Actually got: 1.5/5

Only reason i'm not giving it a 1 or a 0 is because I've seen worse, but usually they have no potential to start with.

Oh and the CGI Flynn thing. It happened mainly when they changed angles while still in the same shot that he went into uncanny valley territory... but when they maintained the angle which they were originally shooting from, whatever it was, it looked fine.
What a surprise, you didn't enjoy it.

But the real question is, was the plot-hole you expected filled?

At this point it's has nothing to do with facts. It has to do what you all consider a plot hole is in comparison to what I do. So let's just agree to disagree, because this isn't going to go anywhere.
At this point all I can say is, you're wrong.

And all those who've seen the movie know it, so the only person to disagree is the one person who hasn't watched it. However you seem to be completely willing to warp reality to fit the facts you've come up with without any real observation.

Hey let me try it! There's this gaping plot-hole in Star Wars. Somehow people can do weird crap using something called "the Force". But that's not possible, so there's no way they can explain all that stuff that happens in the movies!

Even as the person who created the system he'd not how to do it, and if he knew how to do it then the system would have had to explain why he couldn't do it in the first place... and all the characters would have the ability to search for that info and come up with the answer...and with CLU's abilities he could have done it himself, so >.> still a hole, but not as bad as one.
All that blabber you just said there, I keep telling my daughter that's what we call an ASSUMPTION. Stating as fact knowledge we have generated based on incomplete observation. You are wrong. As stated in the movie you haven't seen, Kevin knows how to let programs out of the grid and has kept that knowledge safe from CLU on his ID disc.

    Let's try again.

Users can enter and exit the grid via the portal.
    Programs cannot.
Kevin knows how to make programs exit the grid.
    Sam does not.
CLU wants to exit the grid.
CLU needs Kevin's disc to exit the grid.

Not sure where you get this idea that Kevin intended to let Sam get stuck in the grid.

The disc stores KNOWLEDGE. Sam doesn't have that knowledge. Kevin did.

Sam's Identity Disc would have been the exact same or very similar to Kevin's and thus CLU, once again, could have just taken the his disc and left...

If you don't see any of the problems with that ooook...

And Obiwan is right, if you don't like my position you could always just ignore me and not respond saying I'm wrong without pointing out where I am, even though I've checked and other places say that is how it happens.
    *spoilers incoming*

An ID disc stores all the accumulated knowledge of its wearer, whether program or user. Kevin's disc has the code necessary to allow a digital being to leave the grid and become a biological entity. This is why CLU wants it. So he can take his newly created army and make the real world "perfect". This allowed Quorra to leave the grid when Kevin traded discs with her.

    *spoilers end*

Did that fill your gaping plot-hole?

The Portal can't be opened from within the Grid?
To get out of the Grid one just has to leave through the Portal?
If the above is False then the Identity Disc is needed to modify the Portal?
The Identity Disc is created within the grid (not a spoiler as this is in Tron)?
The Identity Disc of Kevin Flynn is special because... he came from the real world, thus having data from an actual person?
Sam Flynn has an identity disc?

That is all true and that creates a giant plot-hole.
Nothing above the bolded is false, thus you are creating a plot-hole where there is none. CLU's reasoning behind getting Flynn's disc is very well explained in the movie you have not yet seen but are already reviewing. I could break the "no spoilers" rule (which I have already slightly broken in my first post) and spell it out to you, but I think I'll just let you solve your own mystery.

Actually yeah, that looks a lot more like some kind of fuel bowser than anything weaponlike.
  14. Tech shaddup. Not your movie to make and the box office has proven that people actually enjoy his movies.

And I think Megatron might be a SCUD launcher from the looks of the trailer. Now that would be a very big gun indeed.
  15. As a Tron and Daft Punk fanboi, I give this movie an eleventy out of 5 stars. Saw it in IMAX 3D (first time since Attack of the Clones). It has also convinced me to upgrade my home theatre to 3D, something which Avatar did not.

    - SFX were great
    - Really dug the costume design, no more hockey helmets! (and dang Quorra and Gem are teh sexeh)
    - Soundtrack is awesome, fits the scenes and isn't overbearing.
    - Use of 3D was great (only one gimmicky "at-yo-face" moment)
    - The story actually made sense, in a "Matrixy" kind of way. Actually, better than the Matrix.
    - Pacing was good, in fact way better than the original, which sometimes dragged.
    - Acting was better than average, the main trio did a good job portraying believable characters. I almost shed a tear at Kevin and Sam's reunion.
    - CLU looked no worse than Benjamin Button, considering the same SFX team did the work. Yeah, CGI is still no substitute for a human actor, but they made it work.
    - If I have one gripe: the light-cycle battle needed to be faster. The wide shots made it lose its sense of speed. But that was made up with the light-plane dogfight [Spoiler] When Sam says to get behind one and Quorra pulls up into a hammerhead I got goosebumps, absolute genius flying for a newbie pilot.

Kill me now, I want a remake of the original with today's SFX technology and another Daft Punk score... BLASPHEMY I KNOW!!!

Edit: Sorta related, but WANT NAO!!!

Thing is to get the badges, I joined a team, bubbled them up and dismissed my pets. I participated LESS to get the higher tier rewards than when I SOLO'd the events.

A movie, based on a 30 minute toy commercial from the mid-80s. All it needs is giant robots and explosions. Enough with the Bay-hate already, he's doing exactly what the majority of Transformers fanboys already want. GIANT ROBOTS and EXPLOSIONS.

  19. I just got this after a petition and discussion with GMs:

    Quote:
At this time, this aspect of gameplay is functioning as intended by the game developers. Mastermind pet damage will not count toward badge credit in Praetorian zone events.
Really? Working as intended? I really doubt the devs are that numb.
  20. That was quick! Thanks to a special Guardianite for helping me acquire some swag!
  21. I'm looking for an American friend to help a Canadian brother out.

    Basically, I want THIS.

Specifically, I want the Deluxe Pre-Order. More specifically, I want that glow-in-the-dark Daft Punk poster
Unfortunately, it is only available to residents of the USA. Lower Canuckistan must be too backwards for Disney to ship to

So I humbly request the help of a fellow North American brother or sister living south of the border to assist me with this acquisition. If you are willing, please PM me to make arrangements. Time is of the essence, pre-orders ship on December 7th.

    Thank you

    Signed
    Alpha-One, your friendly neighborhood Rogue

QFT in EVE's case. Spend a few hours making the perfect character, only to take a screenshot of it and only see it on the character select screen. Oh, and pay $10 if you ever want to change it.
  23. Yes... yes... my plan is working perfectly!
Keep fueling my starship, it run on tears and nerdrage...

    ME WANT NAO!

Still no release date and I can't find any stores taking pre-orders. Figure they want these things out on the market soon.
