  1. I really like INV but mine is not softcapped unless there is a decent sized group around. However he is very survivable because he has enough defense and perma dull pain.

I just got a Dark to level 50 and I plan to do my first TF with him this weekend. He is Dark Stone and is a serious TankTroller. However he has tremendous End issues. Guess which Alpha I am getting ???
  2. How are all these sets over hyped when a lot of them just work extremely well ?

    Rad/?

    MM is very nice.
Fire is also very good if you can handle the aggro. a defense build on one should be awesome.
Nrg is always a win in my book as well as Elec.
  4. I dropped build up and moved a few slots around and was able to fit this in. I found that Build up wasnt as important to me.
  5. I'll be done with this arc for the time being once i get it on two more characters. Its not that hard. Its more annoying and tedious after a while. The second mission is much much harder.

    Time Bomb sucks...

Force Bubble.. my MM likes it..
  7. OMG !!!! THAT RAAAAAAWKED !!!!!

Seriously they need to make more vids like this !!!

The damage and hold, from what I can gather, are one-time and do not pulse. Some part of the power has a ToHit check but I'm not sure which part, I'd guess the Hold and Damage.

IMO Liquefy is "ok." It's not world changing and it's not terrible, it just is.
and thats a lot of my problem as a tier 9 its really not a lot better than the tier 1 or tier 2 of other sets and those other you can reactivate much faster.

3.) As Garent said, maybe cause they thought that after getting epics/APPs or IO'ing out the toon that it'd be better.
This is pretty much along the lines. I played it all the way to 50 and slotted it out and simply decided after playing it for a long time that I didnt like it and deleted it.

I deleted an Ice/Ice blaster after level 35 because I found I like the Cold/Ice defener better.

    I deleted a Rad/Fire blaster after level 35 because I decided to make a Shield/Fire tank instead.

I deleted an Ice/Stone Tank at level 32 and then went back and remade him all the way to 50...

I pretty much found that I didnt like Liquefy. I didnt like the fact that the -res AoE power had to toggled onto an ally..

And all that defense and to hit debuff in six slots.. I can get that same amount with a Radiation defender in the tier one with three slots and three enzymes and I can have it up all the time.

I am not telling the people who enjoy it that they suck, nor do I think its necessary to attempt to denigrate or belittle the people who do. My opinion will remain the same. I think it sucks.. I think it could be better and I think it SHOULD be better.

Also running a toon all the way to 50 then deleting it because you hated it? Given that you can get all the primary powers after 32 it seems odd that it took another 18 levels of suffering to figure out it wasn't for you.

If I don't like it after I get to level 25 or so there is no tier 9 power in the game that will save a set for me.
Mistake I made because I was typing quickly from work.

And so what I played it to 50 and then deleted it because I didnt like it. As I said before people will defend the set and thats great if it worked for them but I personally hated it and would never play it again. I think it sucks, thats just my opinion.

    coming back

    Welcome back....

Is there anything specific you need to know.. a lot has changed in 4 years.

You might want to go to Paragon Wiki to get caught up on a lot of the major changes.
  12. The thread title should be changed to...

"Powersets I really dont care for"

FF doesn't have the extra debuff which makes sonic totally a different set (heck even if it's shields were defense based, it would still be different because of the debuff). It debuffs from a teammate and has a single target debuff!

Lets get this straight again.. I hated it. I think it sucks. I didnt like it. I didnt enjoy it... You enjoy it.. great.. You have fun with it great for you. I didnt like the way the set worked or was designed. Ill play with ANY person and ANY AT if a sonic shows up and the person plays it well.. hooray... just dont ask ME to play it..

And I think scrappers suck too.. Hate playing em.. cant stand em...and ill take one on my team anytime...

But, damn, a 51% to hit debuff in a 25' rad, and ppl wanna dismiss the power, because... what? Too long of a recharge? Sure, so is EMP, and that sucks, right? Things run out of it? Stand it in yourself--it's not like anything's going to hit you.

Yeah, I hear the cowbells. I'll stop now. Wait, just once more... 51% to hit debuff!
Very simple. I hated the power. I hated the recharge. I hated the way it worked. The hold was not reliable and I felt I could get much better use out of my Rad slotted in less slots...

As I said in my post. Other people who enjoy it will defend it until the cows come home and thats great for you and if you enjoy it great and if you like playing it great for you and I would welcome a sonic on my team but FOR ME it sucked.

    Yeah whatever man..
  16. Saving them for the rest of the Alpha slot and all the eventual things that will open up.

Rats I forgot about the Wintes Gift set... I need to get these into permafrost !!
  18. a while ago I posied a few builds for my Bots/FF and someone suggested taking provoke on my build and put the bots in BG mode.

OMG this totally changed how I play now !!!!!! I use provoke to get the mobs to focus on me but with my bubbles. the shield from Scorpion Epic and The Bubbles from the Protector Bots and BG mode I can tank quite a bit for teams and let the Bots take the foes out !!!

Thanks for that advice MasterMinds forums !!!!!!
  19. Well you might be near the cap already for your bubbles depending on your slotting. The end redux might be a good idea bout I run about 5 toggles and dont run out of end basically because the bots do all my attacking.

I decided that I am going with the damage. I might be near the cap for damage but eventually the other slots will open which will allow me to get ignore more of the effects of ED.

    YMMV

    An "I Quit" Post

Thats one of the problem with a MMO.

You simply are not going to satisfy all of the people all of the time. Its up to each individual to find what makes THEM excited to play and if you can no longer find that reason then maybe its time to move on and try something else. I think CoX tries to really give people what they want.

Im pretty much here until they turn the servers off.
  21. Did you take Paralyzing Blast ??

I am looking at my Dom and I am a little bothered because several of the Elec control ste get no benefit from Domination. I didnt take Paralyzing Blast. I am thinking torn between the idea of dropping Havoc Punch and Charged Brawl to make room for slots for Paralyzing Blast but thats some sweet ST damage to give up.

This has been one of the more challenging builds I have had to deal with. Any advice is appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.
  22. I had a Sonic/Psi/Psi at level 50 and deleted it because I was so frustrated with it. It was a good concept toon, yet it drove me crazy. The bubble was hard to see through and if you changed the color it would not fade and wound up giving me headaches after a while.

I hated the fact that my disruption field HAD to be targeted on an enemy while the friggin trick arrow could shoot theirs to a location. I found that utterly stupid especially since I am supposed to be the master of all things sonic.

And Liquefy was the most sucktastic tier 9 I have ever experienced. I know people will defend it until the cows come home but for me that that power was just terrible.

I deleted him and while I loved the concept I dont miss the toon one bit.
  23. Speed boost is a very good power. People kicking people for not having it IMO are just silly.

Illusion is great as a second or third controller on any team because its powers rarely conflict with the powers of other controllers. Illusion is great at adapting to a wide range of situations.

Some folks were saying that the Radiation secondary is "overhyped." Much like Illusion, Radiation is more of an all-purpose set rather than a specialized set. Other sets are stronger in certain areas, but Rad puts all of these areas together -- team buffs (that affect the player, too), debuffs and controls in a set that provides both offensive and defensive benefits. It is the only secondary that includes a Recharge and Endurance team buff together with Defense, ToHit, Damage and Resistance debuffs.
All of this is 100% truth and well said.
  25. This too me just reeks of...

People are beating him in a way we didnt design or want him to be beaten. Beat him the way WE want him to be beaten.

Ill be honest all i have been doing the last few days is getting the Alpha arcs done so i'll probably be finished with this in a day or two after haveing done it over 30 times already.

Thats ONE thing I think the devs are missing. Many of us have do do this OVER AND OVER AND OVER AN OVER again...

    Tedious and boring.
