There are plans to improve hockey rules to make it more... watchable. -
The Range is listed in the game (info window and enhancement screen) and on City of Data as 25 ft. That is wrong. It's 225 feet. I just retested and confirmed this in-game.
So, basically, you and every teammate (and their pets) within 30 feet of you get TP'd to somewhere else up to 225 feet away.
With two level 50 Range IOs, the range is extended to 337 ft.; with 3 SOs, 351 ft; with 3 lvl50 IOs, 356.6 ft.
For comparison, unenhanced Teleport (self) has a range of 300 ft.
Mid's also has the wrong range, you can correct it by choosing Options > Advanced > Database Editor > Main Database Editor > Group Window choose Pool > Set choose Teleportation > Power choose Team_Teleport and under that, Edit > Power Attributes Tab > Change Range to 225. > OK > Save & Close > Restart Mids. -

I'm suprised to see maintenance today, and being a veteran, it ticks me off. I guess the devs don't see this as an actual holiday.

It's Memorial Day, not Veterans Day. Now, if you were an undead Vet, I can see you getting worked up over this. -
The problem is that redside, the ATs were designed to be more soloable, more self-contained, thus, theoretically, more interchangeable. So, again, theoretically, any PuG redside should be able to beat the LRSF without resorting to uber temp powers. But that's not the case. If you have to pick and choose ATs and Powersets redside for any task, then you broke your own game design.

Dear UnSub,
I hope you are well. I am well, thank you for asking.
Here are some things you need to do:
- finish your first MA arc. It would be a good idea to finish it before the entire CoH/V player base ragequits three times over.
- change the name of that arc from "Farmer Old McDonald's Guide To Farming Farms, 3rd Printing". You don't want to get those McDonald's people off-side.
- wonder what makes an 'open letter' thread different to any other thread posted on these forums outside of polls.
- also wonder why the information about Going Rogue wasn't announced after all these changes. Unless Going Rogue was really announced early to distract from Positron's message, which means there is a doozy of an announcement coming to distract from Synapse's message.
- totally go against forum sentiment and say that TheOcho is indeed the best mod we've ever had, great with kids, master of eight kinds of martial arts, able to create the most delicate of pastries and possessing the kind of moral fortitude last seen in James Stewart.
On a slightly separate note, I can't wait until MA allows us to customise our own maps! Wouldn't that be awesome?
Take care,
- UnSub

So, I have this friend, and he posts on these forums, and he's just kinda curious.

Be careful of marrying a woman smarter than you. As Lord Byron opined:

'T is pity learned virgins ever wed
With persons of no sort of education,
Or gentlemen, who, though well born and bred,
Grow tired of scientific conversation:
I don't choose to say much upon this head,
I'm a plain man, and in a single station,
But --- Oh! ye lords of ladies intellectual,
Inform us truly, have they not hen-pecked you all?[/list] -
Positron is committed to Proliferation. But he doesn't want his powers team committed to a hospital from exhaustion. The MA has diverted much of the powers team time and attention. Custom Critters were never intended to have selectable levels of difficulty, but that was included during Beta upon player request. And because of player request, they'll be refining that even more for I15 in selecting individual powers for Custom Critters.
In a way, the MA gave us power proliferation for the NPCs we create for the MA. Almost every powerset is proliferated to a any critter we want to create for MA arcs.
Once the MA stops demanding so much un-allotted and unexpected resources from the powers team, and they have everything on track for the new powersets (or even new ATs) for I16, then they'll get back to proliferation. -
It is true that you see less... at the same camera distance.
Pull the camera back a little to regain the upper and lower field of vision you just lost and now you see more side to side, albeit everything's a little bit smaller. But usually the upgrade to a wide screen is also an upgrade to better resolution or, at least, a better quality monitor, which makes it acceptable that everything is smaller since it's also a lot clearer and crisper and better resolved.
You can always compensate for the smaller picture by moving the monitor closer to you.

I had to respond to the same question in /help channel last night. It's an unflagging epidemic.

anyone conected to CoH hasn't responed, i sent afew in game petitions with no response, over a 2 weeks, i've sent emails to the tech support with no response, i've even sent pm's to some of the people on the forums. and as for my problem, my game just seems to crash randomly all the time, most common while teaming, to the point where i just can't play the game, and i've ran every test i can think of on my computer and i've reinstalled the game, it seems nothing on my end is causing it. and do you know why CoH won't load in win7, it goes threw the updater then it says it encountered a problem and crashs.

Go to your master PlayNC.com account and make sure that your email is verified. Then make sure that any email they are sending you isn't be filtered into your spam or junk mail folders. Click here for more info.
When you submit a /petition in-game, you're supposed to get an email with a customer service ticket number. You can then follow up on your 'case file' by going to the customer support page with that ticket number for further correspondence.
If you don't get any emails back from your petitions, you can go directly to that customer service page linked right above and start a new 'ticket.' -
I was kinda expecting beta this past Thursday. And so, I'm looking for this Wednesday as beta (not Tuesday 'cause Monday is a US Holiday).
-
Self Destruction is also a great way to lose agro, especially of a really big or harsh ambush (coughnosferatucough).
-
The last Monday holiday they purposely transferred it to Tuesday. Before that, they did it on Mondays angering a goodly number of people.
No announcement so far as to their intentions for this US holiday weekend. -

Freedom of speech is the freedom to speak freely without censorship or limitation. The synonymous term freedom of expression is sometimes used to denote not only freedom of verbal speech but any act of seeking, receiving and imparting information or ideas, regardless of the medium used. Freedom of speech and freedom of expression are closely related to, yet distinct from, the concept of freedom of thought. In practice, the right to freedom of speech is not absolute in any country and the right is commonly subject to limitations, such as on "hate speech".
The right to freedom of speech is recognized as a human right under Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and recognized in international human rights law in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). The ICCPR recognizes the right to freedom of speech as "the right to hold opinions without interference. Everyone shall have the right to freedom of expression".[1][2] Furthermore freedom of speech is recognized in European, inter-American and African regional human rights law.
International, national and regional standards recognise that freedom of speech, as one form of freedom of expression, applies to any medium, including the Internet.[3]
[/ QUOTE ]
The Right of Freedom of Speech as stated by the US Constitution is freedom from GOVERNMENTAL restrictions on free speech. So, if your state wanted to restrict the exercise of free speech, the federal courts would strike down any law doing so.
If your mom abridged your free speech or expression in your home, the government would not intervene to stop that because it's not the government restricting your free speech.
If you started making political speeches in Wal*Mart, you'd be thrown out, and the government would not intervene to stop that because it's not the government restricting your free speech.
If you post threads on a private forum, such as this, and they are deleted, the government would not intervene, because it's not the government restricting your 'speech.'
The government that protects your right to free speech from being abridged by the government is the same government that will guarantee the right of private individuals or corporations to shut you up while you're on their property which they have a right to.
IOW, if you want free speech on this issue, start your own freakin' forum. Then you'll have all the free speech you want. And the government will protect that from infringement by any governmental agency.
But the funny thing is that if you do start your own forum or blog, and people come in acting like mules, you wouldn't think twice about abridging their so-called free speech by deleting their posts and banning them. -
On Virtue, the PvP zones were dead way before the I13 'fix.'
The zones wound up mainly for gankers. People who like to mess with other people.
Those who tried the zones for real duels found they were disturbed by the gankers, i.e., people who wanted to drop in, one-shot, and run. The mechanics before the pre-I13 fixes made that very possible, even likely. And so duelists headed to the Arena.
The other major cause of the PvP zone death was the unlimited access of both factions. When one side has 20 members and the other has 5, it's not a fair, nor fun, fight. There were no mechanical correctives to this problem.
They attempted such a corrective with the Recluse Victory mini-game where two AV/HEROs of the losing faction would come out to help their side, but, numbers still trumped 'em. And so, the mini-games became pointless and abandoned. I keep suggesting that the mini-games be transferred to Arena events where the system can control the numbers from each faction for a fairer fight.
The only thing that brings people to the PvP zones now are badges and buff powers. They run in, grab 'em and go.
If you want to PvP in a zone, you've got to advertise it and organize it on your server's forum and global channels. Otherwise, hook up with those who are still doing Arena matches. -

I believe the flyer is a bug respawn should be 15 min?
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe it's a twenty minute timer, with the clock starting when you enter the mission.
[/ QUOTE ]
This. The flyer respawns every 20 minutes, even when it's not defeated.
If you defeat it 2 seconds before it respawns, it respawns 2 seconds later. If it takes you 5 minutes to redefeat it, it will remain unspawned for the next 15 minutes.
Keep track of the time the last mission is spawned. If you enter the mission a 3:24, then the flyer will respawn at 3:44, 4:04, 4:24, etc... -

I opened the file to have a look at it, and somehow, it had duplicated all my characters from Justice to Virtue (the server I was visiting.) None of them actually exist on that server. Since I only have about six characters that aren't on Justice, I simply removed the entries for the other servers. I assume that the game will simply add them back when I visit those servers again.
[/ QUOTE ]
Delete the file completely. It will create a new one with proper formatting the first time you move your characters around they way you want them. -

In the time-honored tradition of catching a grammatical mistake in a post that makes a grammatical correction: put a verb in every sentence by using a colon rather than a full stop and put a word to which you are making reference in italics or single quotes to set it apart from the syntax of the sentence itself. -

Did Google ask for your permission to put an updater in the background of your computer?
I didn't think so. Kill it for the aggressive piece of obtrusiveware that it is.
Also, along the same lines, kill Welcome Center, Open Office quickstart helper, Java helpers, pidgin start up, and the DVD helper startup.
I assume you use Skype while playing CoH? If yes, leave it. If not, disable it from startup.
And I really hope you don't run Open Office in the background of CoH.
