Grats to the mad Doc...
Someone ELSES Job I'm after now!
Jay, Aeon...the list grows.
Gotta say, that would be an ideal job. Working on CityOf.
I'll need to check out his arcs someday. -

zzzzznrrff?
Ech...wake me up when GR comes out...and everyone's stopped arguing.
Zzzzzz... -

Anyways, if you really want negative rep, just state that Windows 7 is a crossgrade, state that the only upgrade is to go a *nix type system (doesn't matter which one, Linux, Mac, BSD), and the Windows Fanatics will POUR out of the woodwork to hell-rep you. Just trust me on this. You think that the Mac Fanatics and Linux Zealots are bad? You haven't seen the sheer steaming hatred that can flow from the Windows Fanatics. It's like wandering through a green-screened BBS back in the days when modems were measured in bit per second. I've been to knife fights between Macintosh and DOS users that were more pleasant. So if you really want neg-rep, that's the way to go.
Some people like Jam. Others like marmalade.
I, for instance like Jam, but not marmalade. Others might like only marmalade. More still might like both.
But yeah, bring up Emmert, CO, make requests for the most commonly requested things (new engine, vehicles, underwater zone, moon base, etc) and watch the red flow.
Although people will probably flame you a lot more =P -
Given how 'Meh' most of the light armour looks (Enforcer, I'm looking at you) this looks good. This is on par with Vanguard armour for looking nice.
/Opinion
Either way, more good vibes for Going Rogue -

-hit I can deal with. I have yellows. If I dont, I have 'Run the F away'.
AoE locational glue that ISNT locational but lasts for damned ages and makes me worse than a Stone Tanker?
For that matter...what the frag does it DO to Stone armour? I think that thought it too horrible to think...
I laugh at the people who say a PPD EAT would be 'Underpowered'. I take it they have never fought Paragon's finest in any decent numbers, and certainly not the SWAT division? -
Quote:Is your avatar clip from there? Because if so, I am going to watch it.Very good idea, im going to go for the John Preston, out of equilibrium, (played by Christian Bale.) I will be part of a "secret police" which will uphold the law where ever it may be. (And kick some resistance butt)
So. Much. Awesome. -

If Tyrant was so sure of his popularity, he'd have an election to confirm it - it'd make the Resistance's job much harder if he had popular support - but for some reason, he seems to be election-shy
Real life =/= In game. Please don't bring that sort of comparison along GG. Especially not if your from the UK. Because in that case you DO deserve to be locked up in Arkham... -
So....much...rage!

Quote:^ This. Zombie invasions are less fun than the banner runs. Rikti are alright, they get tiresome but, hey, its a WAR. War doesn't wait for a convenient time. It makes in-game sense too.I dunno, I like the Supernatural Activity better than the zombie invasions, personally. Zombie invasions are kinda boring after a while.
Zombies? All year around? Randomly?! Oh-kay then...
At least the banners could be explained as general dark magic forces trying to do something nasty to a city zone...rather than the random shambling hordes showing up. -
Quote:Why would anyone EVER pick anything but the highest capacity?Ok it's that time again. Time to bring up manipulating our environment ie. grabbing and throwing things. I am aware of the reasons why it hasn't been done in this game and I don't want to be one of those that say, "That other game has it" types, but I think there is a way to introduce it here in a way that is not only cool, but fair to all ATs and doesn't turn every zone into Boomtown.
A new option at creation - At the character creation screen, where you choose your model, you choose your "Lift Capacity". This scale determins how much your character can lift. Interactable objects will have a small color recticle that indicates at what weight it is based on your maximum. Three simple colors; Green = Easy lift, Easy Toss; Yellow = Liftable, No Toss; Red = No Lift, No Toss.
Why? Wouldn't it make more sense, if this ever came to be, to have an endurance cost? Surely this is a more reasonable use of Endurance than, say, firing a gun, or using powers that come naturally to you. You are lifting and throwing an object, therefore that would use up endurance.Quote:Rob from Peter to pay Paul - This new ability is not a "free lunch". Similar to powers like Repulsion field, when you lift (or weaponize) an object, you will sacrifice some damage to all your other powers. The amount of time your damage is reduced is based on your level (lower levels taking longer), while the amount of the reduction being based on the size of the object.
So....that directly contradicts the selection you made at character creation? Colour me confused now.Quote:No one is left out - To give every AT the opportunity to use this new ability, there will be an upper limit to how much you can lift and throw. Since even support ATs have damage attacks of some form, each will be able to lift to this maximum at the higher levels, while sacrificing more of their damage dealing ability than that of the more attack-oriented ATs.
Your limits method is making a few cerebral coils overheat here...Buff, debuff, cant throw, can throw...Quote:Not a new Power Set - This idea is not meant to be a new power set or to replace any existing powers, but to accentuate a characters ability. To that end, this ability is un-slottable. Like the Nemesis staff and the Black wand, its a hit or miss power that you use to round out your attack-chain, but nothing you would consider relying on in a tight jam. Because this ability effects your regular powers, it can be modified by player buffs, but at a lower scale (ie. BU + Aim will add to your lift/throw ability). The range at which one can throw an object depends on the size of the object, where smaller objects go farther. The amount of damage the object does depends on the not only the size of the object, but the amount of damage that can be sacrificed from attack powers.
So...it's not applicable outside of missions, and yet this is the only place, bar mayhem/safeguard missions, where players could throw busses, cars etc, and, reasonably, reach this 'Upper limit' of throwing stuff...basically rendering that chunk of it utterly useless?Quote:City of Instanced - As we all know, this game is probably 75% instanced missions, if not more. For this reason, I would suggest that this is were the new ability would be applied. Like objects n Mayhem missions, liftable objects would have a target recticle that would appear when in melee range. The recticle is a small circlular indicator at center of mass of the object so as not block the standard target recticle as many objects would be liftable and destructable. To grab an object, you simply click on it, causing a short animation to play. Once lifted, simply select a target and click the power again to throw it. Unlike other examples of this ability, the object would not become translucent when held. This forces the player to consider his camera angle in relationship to the target before attacking, but the recticle of the target is still visible through the held object, so as to not make it cumbersome in the heat of battle. Once the object is thrown, if it hits the target, it will take the appropriate damage and the appropriate KB will be applied. Larger objects (cars, buses, larger creates, etc) will have more KB than smaller, based also on the target (Bosses tend to resist KB more than minions). If the object misses, it will act like any other physX object, but when it stops moving, it will be once again be targetable. You can use an object over and over until it is destroyed and it will behave like standard Mayhem objects.
From a laymans Point of View, it looks like a hell of a lot of work for something that wouldnt deliver. Just my opinion. If your character is just an average joe who uses a gun, why would he bother struggling picking something up to throw around? If you character is a hulking ton of pure kickass, why would he bother using a puny postbox, when punching someone through the wall will do so much more damage?Quote:I have been seing this in my head for a while now and there have been several suggestions that have touched on it, so I thought I would try to lay it out in some detail. Like I said, I know this has always been a tough sell, but the more I read comics, the more I think the ability to weaponize object would be a valuable addition to the game.

So, you greedy watsits get Christmas AND Thanksgiving...
Oooo, aren't you the special ones, huh?
Oh well, I'll take a leaf out of Jokers book.
Turkey, anyone? Absolutely not booby-trapped and poisoned at all in any way.
Bah! Humbug! -
Quote:It's a matter of both.Sorry ST, but we play superheroes and villains that shot beams of energy from their limbs, that leap over buildings. If I was a dev, I'd figure out how to make the things BABs shoots down doable and not look silly, ugly and or stupid. I don't have a problem with the devs saying they can't do something because of time and resource constraints, but to say that they're not going to do something because they perceive that it's silly, ugly and or stupid is something else, when you consider the genre this game is set in.
Given BaBs just finished work on the ground work of Power Customisation, calling him anything like 'lazy' is quite insulting, really. The guy makes a lot of things in the game great. But great things take time, effort and resources.
If *I* was a Dev, I would steal Jay's job and design all the character parts that people have been dying for, myself included. I would then probably be set back about four issues by time and money restraints and suchnot.
And, if it would look silly, or ugly, I'd rather they waited and made it look good, thanks all the same.
((I'll still get Jay's job one day.

The whole thing of 'Not looking like NPCs' is bunk.
Why?
One acronym; VEATs.
They look EXACTLY like NPCs. Sometimes people in my team have laughed about it. "Damn, I was trying to shoot you, thought you were a mob!"
Certain bits should be released, I think. Maybe not Signature signature parts. Like BaBs gloves, Manticore/Statesman faceplate things, Scirocco's helmet. Etc.
But Nemesis trooper uniforms or parts? Freakshow bits? PPD SWAT kit, please oh lord...
I hate being choked when it comes to costumes =[ -
This is on BaBs list of things to do when if he gets sent to Hell.
I.E. As unlikely to happen as for Jack Emmert to not screw up an MMO.
That'll be a no then

1. CoX is not WoW. Nor should it be. The Devs have nop intention of raising the level cap, and have said so. Most people like it where it is.
2. That I can empathise with...I'm also biting the bullet and building a new rig before new year. Server stability improvements, especually EU side, could do with some shoring up though.
3. Matter of balance. They obviously think it's WAI. -
Quote:"Argh, you're a PROTECTOR bot, damnable scrap-for-brains, NOT a 'Run up and punch Reichsman in the face' bot! No, DON'T go and aggro that mob, dontgoandaggro-! Oh for the love of PETE, I'm going to melt you lot down for parts for my armoured Rig!"Eh, we're used to it. Masterminds annoy everybody, sooner or later. Heck, Masterminds annoy themselves. "Blast it, Bot-2, get back here *NOW!* I said... you just shot that Titan, didn't you? #$^@! Bot-02, I'll get you for this!" Also, we block doors.

Quote:/Do Want. DP/Poison should be compulsory to fit into GR. But thats just meThat would be pretty awesome. I won't touch poison as a mastermind mostly because I find it TOO single target focused but I would kill for it as a corruptor. I would drop my plans for a DP/Dark or DP/Traps in an instance if I could have DP/Poison.

Quote:I'll say what I always say:I disagree. I think Brutes will be very popular with people who like a fast, energetic pace to missions, and get annoyed at Tanks that play like tortoises rather than armored spearheads.

Hmnn...Don't get me started.
So much awesome...overloading...!
Most likely a DP/Devices Praetorian Loyalist, simply because Devices is more mobile than Traps is, I personally hate Time Bomb with a passion, and the Cloaking field fits the character.
Think Grey Fox from Metal Gear Solid (PS) crossed with Alucard (Thats how you spell it, btw. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise
if in doubt, spell it backwards)
Crazily loyal, crazily shooty, crazily crazy. Hmm, I love me the madhouse.
