Hmm...
Is the current zone limit 50 for all zones? I can't remember wether they did that to just Hami's hole, or to all.
Either way...One idea that'd require some finickety coding, but might help;
If there was a way that turned off, say, capes, wings, trenchcoats anything intensive that might slow things down (IF that was the reason the old raids with 100+ peeps were so nasty...I think that was it, but I remember at least one comment that means I may well be wrong).
Basically, the code would enforce a 'hamikini' effect on all players, meaning that, if it helped, the zone cap for Abyss and Hive could be raised to 100.
Of course, I haven't actualyl ever fought Hami except on the LGTF. I dont really know what causes/did cause the mass lag/dropouts and such, and even wether such an idea is possible.

This was my thinking, too. We had a good few ranged characters on the team we were on, myself included. When we poked the thing, it just went 'FOOM'; purple ball of death.

Quote:In way...grotty asylums aren't that scary. It's like "Right, dank, dark and evil. Get ready. We KNOW theres evil here."They'll need to change the maps for sure - right now, the version of Praetoria they have is a dirty, run down and ruined city - so it's totally out of sync with the new version of Praetoria.
For example, Mother Mayhem's asylum map fits perfectly with the old concept, but really seems out of place in the new, gleaming and futuristic concept - her new lair would probably be brilliant white and well lit, with no dirt anywhere - to reflect the way that nothing can hide from her and her Seers.
And while I think there might be some interesting secret areas in or under Tyrant's tower, I don't hink he'll have the lava throne room - that's a bit too openly evil for the new, "good" Emperor of Praetoria
When it's all polished, shiny, white light lit and cold white tiles....Hnnghg...nasty. -
Curses....foiled again.
Not to mention as soon as I sat down the Art Block loomed up and punched me right in the kidney...I think it took my spleen, too.
Curses. Curses I tell you! -
Hmm...is this a long running competition? As in, you can't come in half way through?

((Tread carefully, Mech
Krimzon dislikes a lot of the villains of the Rogue Isles, and Ed falls neatly into one of those categories.
Also, tad burnt out after the war...will need to see if Im still on as frequently)) -
Quote:I think he's commenting on the fact that Heroes dont need to do a mission arc to unlock patron pools.That stands for Epic Power Pools, right? Because unless heroes suddenly learned how to throw sharks at people, I disagree. Especially as Gloom is pretty much the best, most reliable DPS power out there. It singlehandedly makes Brutes better than Scrappers. (okay, there's other reason brutes are better, but adding Gloom to any brute attack chain instantly makes it better than the corresponding scrapper chain)
Then again, Heroes had to do missions to unlock higher level SO stores... I say had, because now with the VG base and Cimerora, you dont actually NEED to even touch them with a ten foot pole.
Also, concept wise, EPPs are much less rigid. Ok, if you have a lightning/shadow character you can sorta fudge GW and Scirroccos power stuff, but Blueside has the traditional fire, ice, weapons etc. -

that said, I!d recommend withholding judgement on Emperor Cole's character until you've played through the forth coming story arcs in GR

Ok, damnit, WHERE is that quote from? It's bugging me! XD -
Quote:Hmm, I could agree with that.L1-25: once choice of zones. Mercy->PO->Cap->Sharkhead.
L25-30: Two choices. Sharkhead or Nerva. One has a Market, the other has a witch you can visit once and a special day job spot (Crey Employee).
L30-35: Two choices. Nerva or St. Martial. One has a Market, a Tailor and Crafting tables, the other has a miles of forest with one contact and a generic vendor and a spot to turn in costume slot salvage.
L35+: No less than four zones with level-appropriate content.
To please the most players, I'd first throw in a new starter zone (L1-8 or 1-10) and a new L15-25 zone to quiet the folks that hate Mercy and Sharkhead. They've been the most vocal, so I believe they might be the most passionate about it.
Then I'd work on a L10-20 zone for an alternative to Cap Au Diable, but give it plenty of resources (Market, University, etc.) to allow it to compete with Cap's functionality.
Those three zones would do it for me, though, with the possible exception of the Shadow Shard. I don't want the same bloat of almost-unused zones like blueside, especially if it would lose the "Small island chain" feel of the Rogue Isles.
Hell, even make it Mercy South and Mercy North! Stick in another damn hospital and make the lifts go up a level to the South.
Hmmm....
Mercy North = 1-12
Port Oakes = 1-12
Mercy South = 12-20
Cap au Diable = 12-20
Sharkhead = 20-30
Nerva = 20-30
Martial 'Rich District' = 30-40
Martial 'Slums' = 30-40
Grandeville = 40-50
Add in a ton more contacts and the options are limitless. Zones with anything as small as a 5 level range tend to be outgrown pretty fast. A wider range allows for more arc completion, more arcs, more goodies. -
Aye, Lousy Day's Nightshade ice skating is....wow. Just wow...

Can someone help me find my jaw plate...And don't tread on it! -
Quote:Hmmmmmm, perma unlock weapons, YES PLEASE.Let me elaborate on this.
I have every Anniversary badge on some character somewhere, but no more than two on any given one.
I have most of the vet badges on every character.
I have a fair number of AE badges on every character, whether they've ever stepped into an AE building or not.
Most of the AE badges are themed about the actions of one particular character. Whether clicking on a glowie or slaying a custom critter. Some of the AE badges are themed about the actions of the player (first to rate a new arc, created a custom critter, etc.). Yet almost all of them they are account-based.
The Vet badges are themed about the actions of the player, specificly: maintaining the account over time. And they are account-based for this reason.
The Anniversary Badges, IMO, are more about having your account current and using it during the Anniversaries than about the ingame activities of a character. Thinking about it, they are awarded for logging in, before the character has walked a single step or activated a single power. This is more like a Vet Reward badge to me than it is like any other. It should be account-wide, and I'd be willing to pay some small amount (not too much, but some) to make it so.
Paying to have all applicable badges account-wide would interest me greatly. I would be more than happy if the following would occur:
1) I pay my $5-10.
2) I log in to see that my new L1 hero has all the badges that any of my blue-siders has. Anniversary, Accomplishment, etc. Yet, some of them have an asterisk by them.
These ones with the asterisk can be used as titles (as any other badge) and can unlock weapon skins (Like the Tommy Gun from Untouchable, etc.). But they must be earned on that specific character in order to count towards an Accolade.
3) I enjoy my unlocked weapons to create a L1 Blaster with a Tommy Gun or a L1 Scrapper with a Rularu Sword, then get to pester my SG mates in order to take me to Striga to work on Council Warwolves and Vampyrs to get my Atlas Medallion.

The worst injury I've ever sustained is a broken small toe...I guess I got lucky in the physical pain department (Mentally? No idea >_>)
Family member, however, stubbed a small toe on a big ol' coffee table just before one Christmas. After a couple of months of being told it was fine by doctors, she went and saw someone else. Whose response was 'Oh Dear...'
She now has it pinned.
Anyone in Britain; Don't, for the love of life and limb, EVER trust a doctor! Pay and see a proffessional, you'll live longer! -

The conflict between Heroes and Villains came to a head with united Villain forces, headed by the Krimzon Guard of Arachnos, along with Corporation and Court of the Blood Countess members, punching through to Atlas park itself. Arachnos combat engineers attempted to deploy temporal anchors, to bring the alternate reality of 'Recluses Victory' to this dimension. Despite a valiant stand by some of the Cities more powerful Heroes, the united wave of villains and elite Arachnos forces was too much.
Atlas, however, remained largely as it was, due to intervention by the full might of both the Vindicators and Freedom Phalanx. With express orders to not engage Statesman, the Krimzon Guard were forced to withdraw, though not before stealing the flag from city hall (since replaced, to cover it up) as a trophy for his Lordship. Facing the overwhelming combined might of the two greatest Hero teams, there was little option but to fall back.
It was, however, a phyrric victory for Paragon. The zones of Bloody Bay, Sirens Call and Warburg were under the control of the Court, KG and Corporation respectively. It had been proved that the inhabitants of the Rogue Isles were not to be trifled with.
Nor, most likely, was the war even close to over... -
Many grats, WW =]
So, simply put;
Can we see less of 'New shinies!' and more revamping all the old hat, mostly blue side, from back when He (Hint, it begins with J) ran the show? Some of it, play and graphics wise, is really, really dated. -
If not, then they will be soon, for breaking NDA.
Result: BS -
Quote:I don't usually say this, but;Could you imagine? What if, in order to shake people's trust in Cole, the resistance recruited the talents of one Westin Phipps? To start tampering with all sorts of things, to ruin, to sabotage, to make people question...?
Make. This. Happen.

Quote:The Devs did say they would be looking at the old Praet missions, although it might be after GR (they cant do everything at once)Given that we know that the Praetorian AVs from the Portal Corps missions are getting a revamp (at least I think I'm remembering that correctly...) then it's entirely possible that they could be reworked in line with Going Rogue. Despite their tough AVs, the Praetorian arcs as they stand are fairly standard fair as they go. If they're getting a remake, they could easily be turned into huge, epic sized battles with characters who get established early on in the 1 - 20 levels of Praetoria.
However I tend to think there's even more to that than just a reworking of some end of game arcs. I suspect Coming Storm plot developments but then that could just be wishful thinking on my part.
Given the current Praet stuff is a lot of mssive, nasty 'Kills Alls', it shouldnt be too hard to improve them >_> -
((Final update pending))

So long as it's not offensive, per se, it should be ok.
I mean, the game world itself references harmfl (if made up) drugs like Dyne and Rage. I guess if you dont name realworld drugs and such. Nice concept, too IMO =P -
I guess that brings this thread to a close.
Still, the advice has been useful. I thought they just spawned huge clouds w/e the ammount of people going in. Do they only spawn for the ammount of people that go near, and then DONT spawn more? -
Hmm...the badges will have been earned anyway, one way or another...
I know people will go 'Waaah, you should have to earn them again like everyone else!' but...well, everyone will get to use it anyway..
Meh. Don't see why not. Little QoL and more revenue. -
Quote:^ What he said.Not absolutely certain of that myself. Both in that i'm not sure if it will be ready in time for Going Rogue, and also that i highly doubt it will be exclusive to Going Rogue buyers.
There might be some end game stuff, a la beating up on Tyrant and the Guard/The leaders of the Resistance, and stuff like that.
I would hazard a guess that I17 may come at the same time or just after GR. Given there will need to be a patch or two when GR comes out for the 'connecting' parts and all that.
