You did that flyby pointing at the flier with just notepad? Wow!! -
And that record number of players on the server would be.... Come on! Real numbers are out, get in the spirit and tell us! I promise we won't tell the Blizzard guys just to make them jealous.

My double xp weekend stands as a testament to willpower, caffeine, and homemade chocolate chip cookies. Without them (especially the cookies), I wouldn't have made it.

Uhoh. Which did you gain more of, levels or pounds? -
A) Is MovieMaker actually updated by Vista? It looked about the same to me, but I didn't delve into it deeply.
B) Have you tried Virtual Dub yet? -
I couldn't resist and tried out the WeGame. Seems to work pretty well and it let me upload a 200 meg video. The sound didn't work for me but others have posted CoH videos with sound so it could be a Vista or 64-bit thing. End result is this little demo recording of some physics fun with my Grav/Storm. I suggest turning off the sound.
Max resolution appears to be 1024x768 but they let you go for up to 10 minutes.
Edit: that's the recording resolution. When you upload it, they dumb it down to 480xWhatever.
Edit2: Sound problem resolved. I just updated my sound drivers and all was well. Here's another video with sound. -
Miss Abyss did that one by just having people send random demo pieces. Then she took a song and put bits of demos that fit the lyrics in. The results were spectacular! You can have a lot of fun trying to work out how each demo clip fits with the lyrics being sung while it shows.
She was doing a villain version but never finished it. (I think she was crushed under the sheer weight of all the demos clips I sent her. ) -

I've not tried it personally (yet) but it looks promising.

Very much so. Maybe too much so. I don't see any advertisements at all. Even though the software is in beta testing, this is a lot of space, bandwidth, and software being handed out. How do they earn any money? -
I would really like to know, too.
If you've got older demos of your character then I think you can just replace the custom weapon FX descriptions with the non-custom ones you can find in the older demo. Obiously, you want to do this on a COPY of your demo so you can see it with the real weapons later, when NCNC fixes the problem. -
Dress? You mean this isn't one of those clothing optional weddings?

Ah... They Might Be Giants... thank goodness. I feel much better now. Many thanks! -
Nope. Mission maps are completely fixed. You can demorecord in bases, though.

"Or better yet, a microphone at all!"

But how could you get sound recorded in any medium without a mic...
<spits Pepsi all over the monitor>
ZOMG! You encoded the sound by hand!!! That's amazing! That's beyond amazing!! I think I may have chosen the wrong diety to worship!!! -
Every week? Wow, that's lots. Well, if it runs a bit dry, you can point at some of the movies of the past. Thanks for doing this, Marcian!

The Archons of Malice have been searching for a base for quite awhile. When we heard that archeologists had discovered the underground hideout of some Mu offshoot, we jumped on the chance. The archeologists were disposed of and we moved in. Ancient Mu bases aren't exactly ideal for modern needs (they didn't even have a bathroom!) so we eBay'ed off the "treasures" in the mustier corner of the base, blasted out some new rooms, and put in some modern facilities.

Overview
Entrance
Teleport - I really have a hard time reading the arcane beacons so I put those on the north wall to the camera's right. You can see them on the overview. The tech beacons are non-functional but far easier to read. Handy for folks that don't come to the villain side much.
Medical - the table near the bed should provide all the <ahem> spare parts a villain may need.
Decorative room entrance and the decorative room
Power
BBQ Pit - with smoker. Nemesis rifle provided if you need to restart the fire. We haven't got any hickory chips but several profound books on the need for self-sacrifice in society are provided instead. Try them! They give your meats that special, villainy taste!
Control
Recreation Area - the TV on the left is hacked into several sources and can get all known channels. The TV on the right is for video games of all sorts. Please be adivsed that any villains caught sharing their MMO account information with each other will be burned with the steaks. There are some things not even the Archons of Malice will do!
Real story: the hero part of our supergroup made a high tech spaceship, so naturally the villain side had to be arcane and underground. Unfortunately, there just wasn't room for the Orbs of Control so I had to stick with our supercomputer. It looked silly in an arcane setting so I made a tech area. The transition is pretty jarring but easy to avoid when making screenshots.
The decorative room is actually an item of power vault and the BBQ room is actually a teleport room. If the Cathedral of Pain ever pops up again, I can shove a teleport out of the main room, drop in a raid teleport, put a few anchors in, and off we go! -
That was great, and so were the StarForce vids!
Vitae Rising has risen again! Hype Zero, Won, and Too are there in full glory. (Plus some old Asheron's Call bits.) It's not looking real maintained now so you better get'm while you can.
(Demo Trivia: Miss Abyss' "All Star" video actually has a bit of history! At 2:28 you can see a bit of the end-of-beta invasion where the Rikti camped the Founders' Falls hospital. At 2:43 there's a electric blaster doing electric field. That's from a demo dated 2/26/2004. It was made just after we were told how to record demos. Oh, and if you pause at 28 seconds, you'll see some... interesting costumes.) -
You woulda pwned him if it wasn't for the mapserver!

I wish someone in our VG has such talent and dedication.

I wish everyone in our SG/VG had such talent! It's the only way all our alts could get done. And even then....
4 Rednames and counting! Can he collect them all? -
Yeah, those ragdoll entries were looking better than what we have now. Still not like in game but definitely better. We were getting them for the last third of 2006 or so. Probably in with Issue 7 and out with Issue 8.
Still, I would really like good ragdolls. I hope that low priority gets in sometime. -

Godhood via laziness! Now see, there's a statement every theologian can get behind. (Get behind with a poison, back-stabbing dagger, that is.)
Thanks folks!
P.S. And Shego, we can figure out the company easily enough. It's the one with the best video cards in their PCs. You wouldn't settle for less. -
But.. but... that's not my AR/Cold corruptor. Weird. It's almost like there's another AR/Cold corrupter out there.
-
I'm afraid you're actually missing quite a few hero ones, BlueEye. Let's see, how can I put this.... try zoning out.
-
Moving my post over from the other topic...
What's there and not gets a little tricky with all the slight variations on themes. And CoV's tunes are all just numbers - ouch.
Fort Blood - appeared in beta testing for CoV and on one of the E3 videos. Great song!
Bastion of Guilt - nice moody bit from The Chantry
Path of Tears - entry to the Chantry. Also the piano bit that you also hear near the Perez Park gate in Steel Canyon.
The entrance to Firebase Zulu has a nice back-and-forth stereo effect.
The Cannonade is at the FTP site, though it's so short! My psychic powers tell me there's a longer version. Some other Boomtown zones are really good, too. The Fuse and Powderkeg, for instance.
The Reactor area in IP has some potential. -
Big thanks FatherXmas!!
Paris, I'm trying to look at the higher quality. Dang thing gets about a quarter of the way through buffering then just stops dead.
