Best Hosting Site?
I haven't scrutinized it very closely (or gone digging to find out what all the inevitable catches and qualifications are), but this looked interesting when I stumbled across it:
Vimeo HD.

Very nice. I'm going to have to check this out.
Jester, I've never been able to get the Woot videos to play, either in Firefox or IE, and, to be honest, it just looks like it would be YouTube-sized playback.

Stage 6 is another possibility, but may require some divx installs for viewers/uploaders.

A site that'll give you a free FRAPS-esque app AND a place to host it with tuned-to-video-game-compression for good image quality:
WeGame.com
I've not tried it personally (yet) but it looks promising.

Ironik,
Can you give me some detail on what doesn't work? All the videos other users have uploaded work just fine under both IE7 and Firefox on two seperate systems I'm running.
Is it a problem with you uploading a video or watching a video?
I want to make things better but it seems I never get feedback from people or reports of problems when they're encountered.
Tell me what you folks want to see and I'll do what I can to get it implemented. Also if there's someone who's good at programming PHP then we can shoot for even better stuff.
EDIT:
Videos now display at a max size of 640x480. There is (and has also always been) a Full screen button. Since the site does not convert your videos into another format as sites like YouTube does its always been able to show your stuff at the best quality you can make it within the 25mb upload limit.
Also I have encountered one issue with a video I uploaded as a test, for some reason b/c of how it was encoded Quicktime kept trying to display the damn thing. I deleted it and uploaded a different video and it worked fine, which tells me it was the video and how the browser handled its encoding.
w00t Radio
The issue I've had is that the movie starts to open, but then gets hung up. I've actually walked away from the computer for 15 minutes and come back to no progress.
I just tried it again yesterday with the same result. I haven't had that problem with any other streaming site. No idea where the problem might lie.

Okay, I tried out Vimeo today and I can't recommend it. I used a test video of 4 minutes and 42 seconds in length, about 10mb or so in size. The initial upload window said that it would take 1 hour and 28 minutes to upload. My reaction: "!!!" 20 minutes later, the upload stood at 10% and it said 1 hour and 17 minutes remaining.
Cancel upload.

Very much so. Maybe too much so. I don't see any advertisements at all. Even though the software is in beta testing, this is a lot of space, bandwidth, and software being handed out. How do they earn any money?
How does http://live.yahoo.com fare in all of this?
I couldn't resist and tried out the WeGame. Seems to work pretty well and it let me upload a 200 meg video. The sound didn't work for me but others have posted CoH videos with sound so it could be a Vista or 64-bit thing. End result is this little demo recording of some physics fun with my Grav/Storm. I suggest turning off the sound.
Max resolution appears to be 1024x768 but they let you go for up to 10 minutes.
Edit: that's the recording resolution. When you upload it, they dumb it down to 480xWhatever.
Edit2: Sound problem resolved. I just updated my sound drivers and all was well. Here's another video with sound.
Haha. I forgot the good-ol' CoH days of everyone clutching their robes and dropping upon their kneecaps, then falling forward in unison.

I've been using a Frap-esque program called Taksi for quite some time. And it always made my computer lag like crazy, but after I tried this everything runs much smoothly.
But im still stuck with stupid windows movie maker for editing. And I can't ever get the update for it unless I get vista.
A) Is MovieMaker actually updated by Vista? It looked about the same to me, but I didn't delve into it deeply.
B) Have you tried Virtual Dub yet?

I've searched a tiny bit for different editing programs. I just wanted to stick with Movie Maker, because i've grown used to it's controls.
I don't have vista, nor do I want it. Mircosoft made updates for the XP edition of WMM, and every time I try to download the update from the microsoft website, they tell me I need windows vista. But all i want is the update for Windows Xp
I'll check out the link though, thanks Zloth.

This is the same way YouTube got its start. Venture capital, then when it gets legs throw adds in. They seem to be capitalizing on the fact YouTube handles video game footage very poorly.

We all use YouTube and many of us aren't crazy about the quality.
Are there any other sites that support better quality videos similar to how YouTube does it?
