[/ QUOTE ]
I surely can.
[/ QUOTE ]
Slashiki is the most Blapper like Scrapper I've ever teamed with
And tbh I don't think the Devs would ever give us the satisfaction of going back on their decision to make Instant Healing a clickie -
Ill/Storm is great... But do Illusion's Phantoms set off the Oil Slick with fire attacks? If so, I think that could work with TA too...
-
Regen is tough and can in no way take alpha strikes. At the level cap, and especially now with IOs, it is pretty tough to die as a Regen. Perma-Dull Pain isn't that hard to achieve, boosting your health easily to the cap. This in turn makes your heals and regeneration higher (IIRC). One of the important things to remember is to try and increase your general regeneration in any way possible. This may be just by increasing it by a few % with set bonuses, or increasing it by a lot with rare IOs- remember, 3 slotting Health and Fast Healing helps a lot.
-
IOs are generally a better idea to worry about when you hit level 50 and have a lot larger income.
IOs are a new form of enhancement that you can craft or buy ready made from other players via trade or the auction houses. They generally increase your overall performance, ie % of damage, accuracy, endurance, recharge etc, as well as offering useful Set Bonuses from using more than one of the same IO set.
I'm not an expert, the best place to look is probably in the "Inventions" section of the forums. -
True, but a Stalker's target has easily enough time to pull them out of Hide or run away by the time they are spotted.
-
Anyone can now see a Stalker with JUST Hide and Stealth or a Stealth IO. And I mean anyone.
All you have to do is modify your build to get Tactics (I think that's the one...) and put a +perception IO in it, providing 2 layers of perception. This, however, doesn't see a Stalker with Hide, Stealth, and a Stealth IO. But anything that could previously see a Stalker with just Hide can now see a Stalker with all 3, and some things can get 4 layers of perception, I think that being the max... eg, Super Reflexes Scrapper gets +Perc from SR, then Leadership, then Focused Accuracy, and then a Perc IO. -
Elec/Fire is THE AoE build, Ice/Energy is best Single Target and good for control.
-
Indeed, my usual slotting is 3 Damage, 1 Acc, 1 Rech, 1 End- but there are many variations such as Rage or Transference that affect this.
-
My only standalone concept on Villains is Domovoi. An ex Mafia hitman who mutated powers of Fire Manipulation. After killing some of his superiors (by accident!) he was forced to flee and make his own way in the world. His own way of course getting him slammed in the zig.
My only other 50 Villain is linked to my Main- Chi, who are twisted in a Tsoo storyline -
Huh! I was wondering where everyone got this craze from! As you can see, my five minutes of effort on mine wasn't quite good enough
Well I'd like a few if that's ok...

Hi there, after getting a bar from 50 on my Brute, I thought I'd try something new and go with a Dominator. I've decided I would quite like to go /Fire, but can't completely decide on the Primary. Concept wise, I have narrowed it down to either Fire or Mind.
Not being an expert at Dominators (and not having Mid's currently on this computer...) I would like a bit of advice. However, I have weighed up the pros and cons in my head:
FIRE
Pros:
- Imps: Very important, a large damage boost.
- Imps: PvP: Help in a one on one situation if you are mezzed, as they keep on going.
- Arguably better in PvE and solo play
- Get a (all be it small) extra boost of damage with Fiery Embrace from /Fire
- Get immobilise powers
- Get AoE stun, working as another big Mezz
Cons:
- Not much to help keep you alive
- Doesn't really come "alive" until level 32
- More resisted than Mind (damage wise)
- Less accurate than Mind
MIND
Pros:
- Very accurate
- Psionic (highly unresisted) damage
- Telekinesis: Acts as an extra hold IIRC, works situationally well in PvE, very good in PvP
- Ability to Confuse, working well in PvP and PvE
- Ability to AoE or ST sleep, working well in PvP and PvE
Cons:
- No pets, so when mezzed in PvP your damage output stops
- Many powers go to waste in a PvP build, eg Mass Confuse, Total Domination
- [It's FOTM! ]
Basically, the major issue I'm worried about (things you can't work around with slots for example) is the balance between Telekinesis and Imps, two majorly important powers.
So basically, PvE, levelling, and PvP, which would everyone say outweighs the other in each situation?
Thanks! -
I took it at 49 and am yet to use it on my Brute
However, I have seen it been used (by Alvan mostly ) very well on a Blaster, and it also has the added bonus for you of not having many toggles to shove on! -
Anything goes with /Fire to be honest, but if you're farming probably the best idea is Mu. Gives a good extra AoE to shove in your attack chain.
However, I went for Mace, for concept and PvP. And yeah, the animation time can get annoying if you bother to take the attacks (which you shouldn't) but I have it just one slotted with an Immob (I don't need accuracies with Rage...) and chuck it in while jumping to the centre of the mob, keeping them locked in Burn. Works perfectly, and you also get the added bonus of being able to whack people with it by using Brawl -
Also worth noting that he was probably the best PvPing Dominator Union has ever seen
However, it should be known he said it was a very diffifult Dominator to play, PvE and PvP. Also, AFAIK, it's not KD, it's a KB.
PvP wise, I have to be honest and say I've never found anything /thorns to be much of a threat, and if I have it has been more the Primary that matters. With Fire/, you should be doing a lot of damage after 32 anyway, and Aim is a pretty hefty damage boost. Thorns seems to lack burst damage though... -
Personally, I don't find TK that endurance heavy, even with a lot of Storm toggles running... although I do have 3 end mod and some +recov accolades/bonuses so...
I find Psy especially useful for my powersets, and you may find the extra hold perfect for things like Bosses, or PVP. The Psionic resistance is pretty worthless, and I've never taken Mass Hypnosis, but I really do like the set. -
Well... Rooks' Claws/SR DID pwn

I play grav/storm(50), fire/rad(50), ill/emp(31), mind/kin(21) and working on many others but to lazy to qrite them all down but the thing you need to stack these days to get someone held but they just walk away or regens that are held and you are throwing everything that you got and they regen it automaticly. Also new sets for scrappers, how about controllers? The EU servers are dying everyone is leaving, I wonder why O.o

Maybe you should think about leaving, too. It's better than you posting the same thing twice in incorrect places without having a clue what you're talking about -

3) Break Frees aren't that big a deal, my Blaster has no problem holding through them
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd really like to see that. If it was true then I would say blasters are REALLY overpowered, but they cant, ever
[/ QUOTE ]
An Ice primary Blaster has 2 holds, that chain pretty well. An Ice/Ice Blaster has 3. An Ice/Ice/[Fire/Elec] has 4, all with good animation times and recharges. Mine has just two holds, and believe me, it doesn't take long to hold through a Break Free. Four Blaster holds, I believe. Really not that big a deal with Hold IOs, Powerboost and set bonuses.
To be honest, you haven't even read my post. You say how Controllers suck team PVP. I said they own 1v1. I say Blasters can easily 2 shot with BU and Aim, and they should be able to, and you say exactly the same thing while trying to make it sound like an attack on me. I say the best specced Controllers can beat the best specced Blasters/Scrappers, and you say how the worst specced Controller can't. All you are doing is saying the same thing as me with reversed ends, there was really no need for your silly post.
Yes. My Ice/Energy probably would beat a Stone/FF. But no Blaster has a hope in hell of beating a well specced /Storm or /Rad if they play right. Yeah! Blasters get Acrobatics! Absolutely zero protection against Controller holds. Apparently that makes their mez protection "through the roof". Controllers get Indominable Will. IIRC, it's 5 of my Blaster's holds through that.
[ QUOTE ]
They are only good for being used as pseudo defenders. Holds are pretty useless for team pvp, and only the buffs/debuffs/cages/tk are useful. Defenders can do that better, and they are less squishy
[/ QUOTE ]
You clearly have been PVPing incorrectly. Let's have a look, shall we?
Ill/Emp. Bonuses over Empathy Defender?
-More Damage
-Holds
-Chance for Indominable Will
-Confuse
-Pets
-Invisibility
-Terror
Earth/FF over Energy/FF?
-Huge holds
-Earthquake
-Quicksand
What does a Defender get? Sure, on the surface it seems like damage, but in practice we all know the Controller will do a lot more.
There is no way you can say Controllers suck 1v1 and in teams. Nothing beats you in holding or confusing capability in the entire game- and Confuse is, in my opinion, one of the most overpowered mezzes especially when coupled with many pets. Am I asking for it to be nerfed? No. It doesn't need to be. Controllers don't need to be, Blasters don't need to be, and Regen doesn't need to be. Regen can be pretty tough to play in PVP against burst damage Blappers, or against anything with holding capabilities. My Storm Defender managed to take one out in the arena just due to Endurance drain from Lightning Cloud, and the Regen was properly slotted and had way more +recovery than necessary from bonuses.
It is only on the odd occassion anything needs nerfing in PVP, especially in this game. Amidst players with the same skill, PVP is simply a large bout of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Some powers beat others, some tactics beat others. -
Seriously. Do you have any idea about.. well, anything?
Blasters? Overpowered? REGEN, overpowered!? Controllers- UNDERPOWERED IN PVP!?!?!?
[ QUOTE ]
everyone can have a hold resistent to the roof combined with bf's they can't be held anymore or not long enough
[/ QUOTE ]
1) Only people with shields can have high mag resistance
2) Acrobatics is innefective against Controller holds
3) Break Frees aren't that big a deal, my Blaster has no problem holding through them
4) Controllers have unbelievable power, and are probably best in general for most 1v1 fights
5) Having high mez resistance doesn't decrease the time you are mezzed, so "not long enough" is rubbish
[ QUOTE ]
Most blasters can 2 shot trollers
[/ QUOTE ]
Blasters are the only fully damage class, and should be able to do this to something with such low health. They need to use both Aim and Build up for a two-shot on a Controller, too.
You complain about break frees and your lack of damage. Take a tray or reds.
There is no reason for you to moan so much, roll an Illusion/Storm then try saying Controllers are overpowered. Then, roll an AR/Fire and say Blasters are overpowered (Sorry FG! :P) -

Where does it say anything about Warburg in there? I was saying RV is max level...
And yeah, villains moan about their "lame patrons"... I find them all hugely useful to be honest, that -jump is insane...
So yes. Maybe Stalkers don't get as much out of their patrons as say, a Blaster... But Zaldor, we know your Stalker can beat most Blasters in Warburg without trouble anyway so, is that what you call balanced nowadays? Where your Stalker can pick and choose from the wide array of Granite Tank, Storm Controller, or squishy Empath Defender? Seriously, even if it was true that Villains had underpowered Patron sets, you still have a lot of other bonuses over Heroes. -
PvP only? Neither are perfect. However, I have always preferred MA. Not only does it provide higher accuracy, but it also comes with a -Fly, Immobilise, two Stuns, and a good KB.
Ninjablade has a KB and KU. Now, unless against a poorly slotted Ninjitsu (or Dark?) Stalker, KB will be useless. Slows (I think Crippling Axe Kick is slow to movement, as well, if not immobilised?) will be more useful, in the case of running away.
For true Stalker killing, you should go Energy or Dark if you want to be the best you can be. Energy is great for the huge damage output, and the fact you can stun a Stalker that won't stop popping greens. Dark is amazing just simply because, if you're slotted right, they shouldn't be able to touch you. Energy favours the quick kill, while Dark goes the slow and painful route- something made easier with Touch of Fear.
I myself am currently levelling a EM Stalker, after playing the opposite end of the spectrum with a Claws Stalker, and I can see that it will work wonderfully in PvP.
But I suppose all this is worthless. Any decent Stalkers nowadays have Stealth, Hide, and a Stealth IO, so unless you plan to carry a tonne of Yellows, hunting them will be tough.
Good luck! -
Siren's = Fail
Instead of all this malarky about "ZOMG Inspirations make PvP FAAAIR!!!!", simply play at max level where all characters are evenly balanced out (apart from Stalkers no longer having the upper hand!)
RV Should definately have some more advertising done -
I don't have one, but if you're talking about PVP, dropping stealth for an IO isn't ideal. Having both makes you a much more frightening foe in zonal games.

I am sorry but i have to say here that 300 PvP reputation due to SBing heavies is not PvP.
Thats only my opinion and nothing personal of course Chi.

Of course not, I'm only encouraging the use of Kinetics in PVP. I know that a deciding factor to me is whether it is at all possible to solo rep, for the badges alone.
