There have been about 3 topics about this in the last week. They should still be on page one of this sub-forum.
I don't have a build for my old Ninja/Poison MM, because i despised him. Ninjas are too delicate, in my experience, to allow you liberal use of the poison secondary. If you've got the skill and the tact, it's possible to make one work, but...if you're not willing to search page 1 for a relevant topic, i've got sincere doubts. -
If you're going to plainly ignore good advice under the guise of wanting a PvP Mastermind, then perhaps you should take your questions to the PvP Builds section

Quote:This,
Back to the drawing board with that build if you are looking to optimize it. Thugs/Dark is pretty powerful, and you can squeeze a lot more performance out of it.
and holy bejeebuz, I didn't realise FS and HT were missing. At least Tar Patch was there (slotted for slow, when 2x Rech will do), which a lot of bad /dark players seem to skip. As HK said, take these, they're fundementally the defining powers of the set. His advice is also pretty solid -

It's a mixed bag. On the one hand it's bog standard decent slotting, then some things are totally out of whack, like 5x Resist IOs in the Patron Shield, despite 3x IOs giving max benefit. I find it all a little weird.
Health doesn't need 6 slotting on an MM, unless for the sets. TG could do with a full Touch of the Nictus.
Shadow Fall can slot the KB proc, while also serving to give the Thugs some resists. By speccing in Maneuvers and with Enforcer's inherent +Def buff, they'll be somewhat near the cap anyway, ESPECIALLY if you take advantage of the fact that Gang War can slot all four Pet Aura IOs, and get the full +20% resistance, +10% defense.
There are things I'd never do, and things that look pretty odd to me in that build, but if you're comfortable playing that (I can imagine your blue bar being sucked down like nobody's business), then go for it -

Quote:I agree with this poster's sentiment. It's not bad, but merc/TA, merc/storm, and merc/dark are far better at everything IMO. MAYBE Poison is better at AV's than storm...but not the rest of pve.
I once tried to level a Ninja/Poison. Much to my current amazement I got him to level 41. Sure, in a team, taking down AVs/EBs is a doddle, heck...my duo partner and I duo'd Ghost of Scrappy at lvl 28 on similar Masterminds.
However, it was as squishy as anything. It drove me insane! My Necro/Dark however, was just part of a successful MoRSF attempt. She's amazing. As someone earlier gestured towards, MM sets really can be like Night and Day from one another. My advice is to try one combination and see if you've got the tolerance for it. I chickened out and went for another combination, and have never looked back since -

Quote:This.Stop powerlevelling. You're ending up with characters whom you have no idea how to play, and getting the wrong impressions of sets.
Dual Blades is a lovely set, and it is fine on a tanker. I don't quite get the stigma against it...I think it's because it doesn't have LULZ numbers up front, whereas DB has *A LOT* of AoE damage potential.
You may not down a boss as fast as a "Supa Strong Man", but my goodness those mobs are going to regret facing up to you once they start spotting their organs spewing across the floor -

I can understand you not wanting to run out of endurance, but looking over some of your slotting, where you've only put one endurance reduction in some very endurance heavy powers, the Performance Shifter proc isn't going to cancel out neglecting to slot out the powers in a healthy manner.
I recently considered a Mind/Ice myself (I just love power boost ), so I may swap over in bootcamp and knock up something with some simple, inexpensive IO sets, if you'd like. As that build stands, it packs a lot of punch. However, if you *really* wanted to go damage focussed (which I can see from some of the Mind/ slotting), then why didn't you pair it with a secondary which contains build up?
Energy excelles at aiding control, so perhaps you'd want to capitalise on that by frankenslotting with IOs, instead of running a somewhat edgy SO build?
(By the by, do feel free to put me in my place if that's how you like to play. I play a pretty psychotic Ice/Ice permadom, who is quite happy locking down everything in sight *and* tearing things limb from limb. I'm just going on what i'm used to)
Edit: Re-reading your post, Low HP (think: Stalkers) benefit *much* more from Defense than they do Resistance. However, charged armour is a decent toggle, but again why no enduance reduction? Running that & spamming your margainly less expensive powers is going to drain you fast. Power Sink from the MU pool could aid that, but that's only in the late 40s, making the domi a killer to level. Also: No Mu Guardian healspammer? :P -

Welcome back
Yep, defiant's still going strong. Even redside . If you're 'ere in need of any help, please don't hesitate to grab me on @Xemulas. -

Aha! Gotcha, know a few people rely on that if you've not got each other's e-mails.
Wont get in the way -
Anything you want done with this, or did you just fancy pasting a datachunk in here randomly?

I main on an Ice/Cold corr.
Still amazing in PvE, solo/teams/SFs
Went from amazing zonal PvP to a waste of time since the i13 changes. I can still have fun on him, but his slows, blasts and debuffs just aren't what they used to be -
Defense has nothing to do with generating fury. It's not if the hit lands, it's if the hit was attempted.
My only brute is a DB/SR, his fury is almost always at 75%+ -
That is probably the case, thanks for checking My hesitation was not misplaced...

Oh Omega
Another skilled and charming player leaves our midst...You will be missed. I'm glad that real life is bearing such wonders for you though, even if it does get in the way of the e-life. Still, rather one than the other 'eh?
Hope to see you again in the future, but until then, all the best to you in whatever you go!

Quote:I was under the impression that the devs removed the penalties of both this and Magus/Demonic quite some time ago.On my DB/SR brute, I use Geas of the Kind Ones (well, the villain version, I linked the hero one for your reference) for +End boosts. Note that it drops your Defense by 10 points, and has a fairly long recharge. Discretion is required before using it.
Have never seen mine drop when using it, and I run "watch attributes" for defense figures all the time in case of debuffs, but perhaps my memory is failing me
Edit: They probably have not changed the descriptions, though! A common occurance -
Here are my thoughts upon looking over your build. I've got a DB/SR brute, so they come from personal experience.
I'd personally swap those crushing impacts for Makos bite, for the +defense set bonuses. I tend to prioritise soft capping over +recharge, especially as DB is plenty fast enough as it is. Along those lines, i'd put Obliteration into the AoE/Cone attacks.
Bearing this in mind, I'd drop the fighting pool, as that is what's going to drain your endurance. If you can softcap through the suggestions above, Weave becomes obsolete if you're at 45% defense, and thus just a drain on your blue bar. I also think regardless that tough is pretty redundant on an SR, presuming that you're going to softcap them. I'd just carry oranges
I'd slot the passives with 3x Luck of the Gambler pieces, for +HP and +Regen set bonuses.
Also, 4 slotting stamina with 2x End mod, 1 Performance Shifter End Mod and the Performance Shifter Proc makes for a nice +end set bonus, and the +endurance proc is really quite noticeable.
It's worth 6 slotting elude for another full set of Red Fortune if you ask me, but YMMV.
Afterthought: Do you have the 2 +end accolades? They can really make a difference to your overall recovery, alongside any +max end set bonuses
