Ok after I've calmed myself down a bit, I'm wondering...
Mez resistance or mez protection?
[/ QUOTE ]
Protection vs. Knockback, Knock Up, Repel, Stun, Sleep, Hold, Immobilize, Confuse and Fear. Pretty much the whole suite.
[/ QUOTE ]
Zomg LOLOL.
Wow devs! This is much more than I expected. LOL I'll be able to walk through Force Bubble and Telekinesis.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually Telekinesis still 'pushes you back' even if you have mez protection, not that it's a problem since most of us Doms have ATLEAST one ranged attack.
Still this is very very good news seeing Domination as a 'break free' sort've thing in future.
I'm going to start grinding my Psi/Psi right after I post this -
[ QUOTE ]
We've got a nice tweak to the Domination ability coming down the pipe (it will crank up your Mez resistance while it is active),

Wow, that secksy, I can't wait for that! -
In Medieval Helmets > Round. If you use any of the New Horns (i7) they halfway float in the air.

I've never disagreed with ANY nerfs other than the first form of Travel Supression (-acc for all travel powers), but I think the community agreed with that as a whole.
And I also agree, I will just have to wait to see what's in store. As of late there have been things that bummed me out (Shield Tankers scrapped from whiteboard, etc.), but on the flip side there are some awesome things to look forward to like the Veteran Reward System and server transfers. -
I hope they will both be leading the way, they're both great devs, with things I personally like, and things I personally don't like.
Jack (States) has always been great about balance and the overall image of the game being comic-book themed. His vision seemed to be to make this a game that is simple and fun for casual gamers, but challenging for the hardcore; 'easy to learn, difficult to master'. His bad points were that he sometimes chose wrong or misleading words (unintentionally) when adressing the playerbase, making many people opposed to his infamous 'vision'. I don't really see Jack as responsible for the nerf-fest in the first year of the game; as all young MMO's need a few bugs to work out, this game came from a (no-offense) no-name company that had never made a game, let alone an RPG.. and the result was an amazing product that rivals those of fat-cat companies like Blizzard.
Matt (Posi) is an awesome developer because he seems to be more into the badge and unique elements that make the game colorful. Though this is only an assumption he worked on these upcoming projects, I believe this will be seen in the upcoming 'Veteran Reward System" and "Legends System". The only problem I see as of late with Matt hoisting the rangs is that Cryptic seems more inclined to turn Cities into a loot-based game (as observed in interviews), which segregates players into 'haves and have-nots' (A quote States used previously) which may ruin the uniqueness of the Cities universe.
That being said, and almost entirely off-topic, the bottom line is that I think Jack and Matt together would make a great team if they continue to balance-out their development traits! Some of us fear that States will leave or become less-involved since he does now have a the young Statesboy to raise
Who knows, maybe yesterday on Father's Day he crawled to Rogue Islands and innocently pulled off Recluse's head as a trophy for his papa.
On-topic to this thread: Glad you didn't leave States! We'd all feel a little guilty about those ongoing nerf-bat jokes last year -
My suggestion from the begining has been to give Taunt a higher chance (say 70%) for Gauntlet, but give it a very short duration, say 3 seconds, so that in order for a Tank to play 'bodyguard' he would need a steady attack chain on a fixed opponent.

I remember Phantasy Star Online did something like this in the higher-level lobbies.
People were amused incessantly for months. Soccer games were everywhere.

Until someone kicked it 'over the fence' (into space-nothingness) out of bounds. =(
I kinda miss PSO.. -goes to check on his HUmar- -
It's very obvious that /EM dominates the PvP world because it has insane burst damage, but you're all right in a sense that it is considered the "PvP set". That however isn't as effective in any battles that go higher than 2v2, this coming from someone who played an /EM blaster for a short time. To be perfectly honest I think /Ice is the trumping group-PvP set for it's PAoE, and wide-cone slows (And damn do I mean wide, that thing is like a monster-fan), that are absolutely annoying as hell in PvP for an opposing force. I don't think /EM should be worried about a nerf, since its supposed to be a blitzkrieg killer. I personally will skip this FoTM and stick with my Ice Manip

he's taking time out of his stalker advocating to help brutes? wow.....
[/ QUOTE ]
This just makes me laugh. Yes, clearly he is "stalker advocating" when stalkers are getting an AS nerf and a placate nerf. Some advocating.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think the only reason people say this is because in closed beta Castle was the "Stalker guy", he was the guy all the Stalkers were told to go to for feedback and suggestions for the time being, so alot've people still put Castle and Stalkers together. -
I hope there will be bars instead've literal digits, States always said he'd rather put in stat BARS before cold hard numbers.
-
Giving Stalkers a snipe-attack?
This should be interesting -

What about Raura and Malibu Sally? Or am I confused?

Hahah! s***, off topic.. but that particular infamous chubby kitten in your avie is one of my few weaknesses.
Speaking of Kittens, why the hell hasnt anyone put Sleepy_Kitten on there? -

Was the "45-50" a quote from a redname, or was that an assumption for the new zone? I keep hearing all kinds of speculation, but no hard data.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, RV is level 40 to 50. This cold has my head all fogged up.
[/ QUOTE ]
too bad we wont be 50 when we get in it...as youll notice he wont actually tell you what lvl you will be..but unlike them im saying you wont be 50

I can almost guarantee 100% that your lvl will be raised to 50 regardless of your true level (clvl) -

Heroes created in April/May 2004 as well as being around last anniversary and this one should get something extra extra special too!
[/ QUOTE ]
I think efor those of us who have all the Halloween badges from 04. We should get an Accolade that lets us finally use those rubber-bats that never got used but are still implimented (along with the fake vomit)
That special enough for ya? -
It's either gonna be 5th Column or Winter Lord! Or something to make us old timers from launch shed a tear.
-
Dunno if this has been stated, but the "Man in Black" badge is bugged. It's just showing it's Pxxxxxx number instead've it's actual title.
-
This might be beating a dead horse since it was a few pages back, but I think a good solution to the overly resisted lethal is to swap it's Defense Debuff with a Gradual Resistance debuff. Resistance buff/debuff was a field the devs didn't want to think about near launch, but lately with Sonic sets and Orange inspirations it makes alot more sense for AR, Weapons, and maybe even spines (despite the fact it already has a near-unresistable secondary damage type.)
-
Just throwing this out there, though I do see a ton of flaws in it:
How about if Defiance kicks in when your Endurance gets low, instead've your health? -

... And hey, if you're still not sold; Asian chicks, 'nuff said...
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure ... if you could tell them apart from the guys. The asian males could pass for modern-day lesbians.

That bishounen business actually is more popular with the western fangirls than the japanese, I know fangirls who devote their entire paychecks to bishounen (feminine boy) posters and whatnot (dead serious). I keep that in mind to make myself feel better about being an MMO junkie =D, yes, I know, I just called the kettle 'black'. But my overall point is, it may draw in a bigger fanbase if Cryptic rides this wave for a little bit. -

They look like they fled from a Final Fantasy game.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw it, but hey, that's what they're into. Besides, look at the smash hit the Marvel vs. Capcom series was. Western heroes (comics), Eastern heroes (manga) clashing and joining up to kick [censored]! And hey, if you're still not sold; Asian chicks, 'nuff said. I don't expect Cryptic to go entirely in this direction, but I'd like to see atleast a tiny bit of influence (no pun intended). -
These heroes could very well have sets that we will never ever get, since they are sig heroes. Much like how Black Swan has dark imps, Scirocco has that nifty sword, and Lord Recluse has his spider back thingy things.
I do however hope that asian launch will persuade the devs to someday make an asian-themed zone, a china-town as the rest of you suggested. Tsoo, Family, and maybe another added group, maybe a rogue group (like Wyvern, neither hero or villain) called "Sakura" that could be very anime-ish, katana weilding group. Heh, maybe I am getting ahead've myself here, but I always thought something like this would be cool ever since we got the asian clothes and faces in Issue4. -

You know I've actually never recognized this bug before, maybe it doesn't work with Battle Axe.
Funny thing though, just today a Blaster challenged my Tank to an arena match, and I decided to, thing was I missed him about 90% of the time, in all seriousness. Even with build up (slotted with ToHit SOs), my attacks all have about 2 Acc SO's on average, I was even running Invincibility (slotted with a ToHit SO) and I missed him that many times! I checked his info, he had NO defense powers at all, not even combat jumping or anything from the pools. He never stopped moving, seeing as he was a Super Speeder.
He was also 3 levels ahead've me.. so either something is up with Axe (just like the other Tanker primaries) or a 3 level gap really makes a huge difference in defense.
[/ QUOTE ] Axe has that problem, too
I ran a test last night with ChillGiant, my level 15 Ice/Axe tank. I hunted in atlas with out Chill Embrace on. I would arrest one member of a group, and set Gash to auto. After they failed to hit me, they would run. I would chase and bump into their back (so as to not over shoot them), Gash would activate, but no hit or miss message. {So much for the Streak Breaker} It would use End, though. The longest streak I had was 6, after that the mob would forget about me and stop running. ---S P L A T--- This went on for about a half hour.
Then I turned on Chilling Embrace, and I hit every mob I bumped. I think this is because the mob wasn't out of range when the attack went off???
Thank You, WeirdBeard !!! The sooner the better!!!
And thanx to you, Ravenlute , for all the testing you did! Five stars for YOU!
[/ QUOTE ]
It definately is buggged for axe. Here's a demo I recorded a while back of an Axe test when we were first characterizing the bug.
CE doesn't have the same bug because it is a PbAOE with a non-zero radius. Even if things move, their speed would have to exceed the amount necessary to put them outside that radius before the power fired in order for the same "bug" to occur.
[/ QUOTE ]
I really feel un-observant.. I have no idea how I even got to 40 and never noticed this bug -
I think it would be even more epic if you went the extra 10 yards and got rid've AV's altogether. Have them ALL at Elite Boss status and have them fight with allies. Example being:
1-3 Heroes: 1 Elite Boss
You fight against Ghost Widow
4-6 Heroes: 2 Elite Bosses
You fight against Ghost Widow and Wretch
7-8 Heroes: 3 Elite Bosses
You fight against Ghost Widow, Wretch, and Scirocco
I just always thought that would be cool, the enemies could work as a team, healing, buffing, etc. -

I got some incentive; give AV's the xp worth of pre-i3 Hatched Kraken. =)
Once you kill the AV; mission complete. Keeps people from farming, and makes killing a demi-God baddie feel triumphant.
