Don't need stone cages ? Take jump kick ?
Are you on crack ? -

After levelling an Ice corr and an Archery corr and having tried both blizzard and Rain of Arrows, I can safely say that I'd take RoA over the supposedly almighty blizzard any day.
So far, with Aim+BU RoA wipes any pack of yellow/orange mobs and most Lts (including S/L resistant mobs like Freaks), and a queued Explosive Arrow can mop up the possible stragglers.
The beauty of it lies in the fact that you can do it every 20 seconds or so, and it doesn't drain your end.
While blizzard's raw power is nice, mobs can still manage to get out its area sometimes and I found out I really hated the end crash. If it doesn't kill your target right off the bat and you don't have any blues/power sink, you're in trouble.
And besides, dear god RoA looks awesome
Paired with an Illu/Emp troller, it's more than deadly : Fortitude, Invis, Aim, BU, dead pack of mobs, rinse and repeat
I think i'd have a hard time playing another blaster after this one, it has come to the point where my duo partner gets bored because she doesn't have time to fire a single power besides fortitude or invis before I've killed everything, hehe.
Rain of Arrows > * -
I too have read that Stone brutes generate fury at a slower pace than other brutes.
After levelling my own Granite, I can now say without the shadow of a doubt that it's a load of [censored], especially when running granite.
Pop granite, teleport into a nice mob, fire off an AE if you have one (Foot Stomp in my case), and watch your fury bar. Once the mobs come back on their feet and attack you, enjoy a near full fury bar.
My brute always teams with an Elec/Elec, one level higher than me, and I *always* generate Fury much much faster. Usually by the time I'm at 90% fury, she's at 50%.
Slot your attacks to counter balance granite's -rchg, slot hasten and love it, play in ruthless instead of relentless to get more mobs, get taunt to have even more mobs on you and watch the big orange numbers fill your screen
Before rolling a granite, everything I had read about it led me to believe I would be a playing a giant slow boulder unable to die but unable to kill much. Turns out that if you slot properly and have the right primary (got to love rage, the -dmg on granite is totally countered), Granite is an unkillable Killing Machine. -
Sorry for the cross-post, but I would need to transfer a couple millions from villains to heroes.
My villains are rich, fat and lazy, and my heroes are extremely greedy but rather poor
So if anyone needs a couple millions on a villain alt and have a couple millions to spare on a hero, drop me a tell @Aerys so we can sort it out.
Thx ! -
Yeah forgot to mention that I don't plan on taking the powers exactly at the level when they're listed in the build, rather take what I feel I need when I need it, and in the end have all the powers I listed.
Health will more than likely be switched to swift (already have it on the toon anyway), forgot to change it, bit of a habit to click health.
As for siphon power, it's a long road to 38, I'll have changed my mind about 60 times by then -
Revised build, here it is :

I think it's the first time I actually have *too many* slots, Kin is so weird...
If this toon ever gets high (and I think it will), I'll spec out of Siphon Power once I get Fulcrum Shift. Absolutely no idea what I'll take instead, maybe put the Leadership pool in there again.
You'll notice the immobs are still there in stone cages, for two reasons : I have too many damn slots, and the idea of a 1 minute AE immob pleases me tbh
Regarding the Epic powers, I'm sticking to Fire, want to get at least *some* damage in there. And fireball is fun -
Altitis strikes again (sigh), trying a troller for the first time. Needless to say, as an Earth/ I don't intend to solo. Ever.

I know Stalagmites require you to be on the ground to fire it off and could possibly be annoying with hover, but I can manage.
Teaming with an Ice/Ice Tank.
I was surprised to see that Speed Boost had a +recovery component, and according to hero planner 3 end mods in it grants an extra 1.77 eps, which is nothing to scoff at imo...
Anyway, what do you think ? This is my first troller, so prolly made mistakes in there. -
Are you having fun PvPing ?
Then yes it's worth continuing. -
Need to trade yet again a couple millions from villains to heroes (damn alts) if one of you is up for it.
Catch me in game @Aerys -
Well, if you really need a rad, you can always drop me a line @Aerys and if I have enough time for it, I'll more than likely help.
-
tl;dr.
Are you still going for it ?
How long does it usually take ?
I got an ice/rad corr, a bit shy from 46. -
I've decided to dust off my kitty and see if I can have fun playing her again, and thought about using one of the respec she has available.
Looking at a PvE toon, both solo and in teams, currently level 40. Took BS as patron purely for the story arc, don't intend to take any of the Patron powers.
So here's the respec build :

I kind of miss Superspeed so I'm taking it again, if only for the cool effect of burning feet when flying
SS alone was a pain in grandville but with fly it shouldn't be problem anymore.
Thinking the S/L resist from tough can't really be a bad thing, AS and kick are there really only to unlock fly and tough, although AS might be used to KD a mob or two every once in a while (hence the 2 ACC in it, just in case). -
Can help if you need some rad debuffs.
Just whisper @Aerys in game -
Hmmm, but what if you really don't like that thermal ?
-
I know, I have power sink as a Patron Power on my ice/rad corr
-
Repulsion field is there as a panic button, no more, no less. I need to get two powers to unlock FoN and I quite simply don't want / need the shield, I'm constantly teamed with an empath.
Regarding the end redux in fly : as it is, archery is really light on end, with a 3 slotted end I never ever see my bar go below 50%. Hover with 2 slots is fine enough for me speed wise, lets me avoid the KBs and fire off a snipe mid fight if needed.
Now, regarding Elec : I plainly like it better than NRG. It looks better, it feels better, and when mobs somehow get into melee range, it obliterates them. Besides, it has the almighty Power Sink which is a nice plus for me, I might be able to spec out of stamina once I get, freeing up some more power slots. And if I keep sta, I will never ever again have end issues, something I'm looking forward to after my granite brute
As far as /dev goes, I already have an AR/traps ruptor, and like Elec much much better anyway.
So far the toon is working fabulously, my empath partner just got Fortitude and I'm now a perma killing machine
Getting SO's tonight, should be really nice.
Just can't wait for Rain of Arrows. -
Transfer done, thanks again BlackDragon
-
Well I'm online right now if you swap some money
-
Looking to transfer some money again, my hero is fast approaching SO time, and 400k just won't do
So need to transfer a couple millions from villains to heroes, @Aerys in game if you're interested -
Well, just keep in mind that herding isn't the only way to go.
I've seen a few people in game complaining that their team sucked because they couldn't herd properly or whatnot. Well, adapt and adjust then, instead of sticking to the stereotypical herding tank stubbornly (not saying this is what you do, more of a general comment / rant against tanks who start crying if they can't herd). Adjusting to your team/to the situation > trying to herd at all costs because everyone has done so for the past years.
Besides, ever since I started playing CoH again, I have found *one* tank who didn't utterly suck, and by that I mean only one tank who actually tanked stuff instead of waiting for half the team to be dead before doing anything.
So to all wannabe tanks out there, learn to tank first, then herd if you want to and your team is up for it. -
Have taunt on my granite and loving it.
Really good to save squishies in a team or make sure your fury fills up in a couple of seconds : TP in the mobs, foot stomp, taunt, full fury bar
And yeah, when fighting AV's and Heroes it's a must, especially since Granite can tank almost anything much more safely than other brutes.
Even when soloing, it's quite nice : jump into a group and taunt another one to get some insane fury action, or lure that flier into following you around a corner
Besides, it barely needs any slotting with its fast recharge, just a couple taunts in it and you're good.
Get it, slot it, love it, unless you're a squishy brute. -
As long as the final pet is a Crab spider, it would be neat
-
I don't want it no more now that you've eaten his left leg =/
