Now I understand what you meant by a Brewha post.

Transformers, gobots, rocklords, I'm sure there are other transforming robots, that arent transformers...
Oh...mecha suit wise, there's Robotech.
How is this a copyright problem?

It's not...

Me, too, Billz.
On that note, you haven't said anything sig-worthy in like 24 hours. Can you get on that? Kthx.

dude... I'm working DPS chain calculations... I can't handle that kinda pressure.

Didn't they have some prestige grants for testing purposes? Maybe its from that.
[/ QUOTE ]
1 - Not as much as he had.
2 - Only on the Training Room, not TR01. And nowhere now.

I didn't get that much in the bump anyway... it's just my toons in the SG... and I didn't have that many on test. I worked for almost all of it. -

Players should be advised that if you have any Training Room native characters, PvP Tournament characters etc. on Training Room 2, you should transfer those characters over to Training Room by Monday, May 18th....
[/ QUOTE ]
...ummm... okay, if the transfer tool is used for moving toons from live servers to tr severs... how, then, are we supposed to move our toons from tr 02 to tr? I have several toons on tr 02 not to mention a sg with well over 500 mil pres that I DO NOT want to lose! But I would like to at least keep my (VERY WEALTHY) toons!
[/ QUOTE ]
Umm... it's the TEST server. You shouldn't expect to keep *anything* on the Test Server. While I'm also impressed that you've built up a megaton of Prestige... you might have thought about doing that on a live server. There are quite a few of 'em.
The devs are under no obligation to save anything on the Test Servers... from Ex's post:
· Content and characters could be wiped at anytime as game specific updates and changes are published, tested and removed.
So... I'm betting you're out of luck, man.
[/ QUOTE ]
My guess is he duped a bunch of inf then bought the prestige. Why he'd waste the time to do that, IDK!
[/ QUOTE ]
No I didn't dump inf for pres...
I meant 500k... I was thinking of something else at the time....
I don't expect to keep ANYTHING... but it would be nice not to loose what you worked hard to get regardless, would it not?...
the situation has been fixed already....
I still have the rich toons AND SG...
So I guess that I'm not out of luck... man.
Joking!
But it has been fixed and I do still have everything... gonna build the base back up now. it's a solo SG, so you can understand why I had that concern... I built that wealth by myself. If anyone would like to join to test new stuff with me, you are welcome too... with no expectations of sg mode if you don't want to.

Provided that toggling "Unkillable" on automatically turns all rewards (xp, inf, prestige, MA badge credit) off, I support this as a useful tool for players testing and tweaking their arcs.
This would allow for more point testing. If I've just changed one aspect of Mission Three, this expedites my testing process. However, if the player can earn any kind of rewards while in Unkillable Mode then I'm against it for abuse potential.
Any badges for testing your arcs should not be awarded if any part of the arc was done in Unkillable Mode. This would further encourage (some) players to play through at least once without the protection of godmode.
[/ QUOTE ]
I, for one, was curious as to why it was not in the system when it launched.
*click*= Debug-like mode: unkillable while at the same time unable to collect badges.
then
*click* again= Normal Mode: test as if playing noarmally to judge difficulty and collect testing badges. (Warning: can be dangerous to squishies)
Sounds good to me OP... And Bill (AKA: avitar of amillion faces)... and Forbin... and ... well... everone elese who fleshed out the OP's suggestion.
But let's face it... I thought of it first... because I said so, and my mommy always told me I was always right! -

The Test Server store costs nothing. So if you click on "Character Transfer" on the store menu, you can transfer all the toons you want from 2 to 1 with no charge.

either:

b)because I wanted to.
c) I like pie

d) all of the above.
this counts for 3/4 of your grade for the quarter so choose wisely. -

Veteran power choice set...
Grow = The ability to grow to enormous size and be ridden by people in your group. And you're power gets a damage, defense and range multipliers, but lose accuracy and dodging?
Shrink = You shrink to a size that allows you to ride on a person in your party. You get an accuracy and dodging multiplier, but lose damage, defense, and range.
Ice Slide = creates a temporary ice path that can go in all directions. Allows for relatively fast transportation but hard to control and drains end fairly rapidly.
Dragon = Relatively slow, but allows you to fly on a big dragon that you can attack with and let a limited number of other ride on.
Not gonna happen but it'd be cool >.>

Okay, Alt, I was reading this thread and just had to stop at yours... for no good reason really...
[ QUOTE ]
I know this is just a discussion about the "FAQ", but there are some issues that I want to put out there before this thing gets too far into development (knowing full well that it has gone quite a way already)
Here are the things that I definitely don't want to see :: <ul type="square">[*]SG High-Leader switching sides and taking the base with them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Good point and I agree, but I really don't see the devs doing anything like this... it'd anger WAY too many players.
[ QUOTE ][*]Characters that go "rogue" still having access to their sg and sg base.
[/ QUOTE ]
Same as above, really...
[ QUOTE ][*]The Markets merging[*]Influence and Infamy just turning into inf. Influence is for heroic deeds, and Infamy is for dasdardly ones. Therefore, when the side switch happens, the infl or infa is lost. Time to start to build your rep from scratch.[*]The Markets, Vaults, and sg bases of the other dimension being connected to the Markets, Vaults, and sg bases of CoH or CoV[*]Players that go "rogue" still having access to their stuff in the Vault. A friend pointed out that the villains can already use the hero Vault in the Pocket D and vice-versa; however, it some how seems wrong to me that the side-switching wouldn't effect the "legality " (for lack of a better term) for giving items to a hero that was once a villain or vice-versa. So at least the Pocket D issue should be addressed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Now that... I can do nothing but agree... It has been argued back and forth that infl/infa is NOT money. rather it is a measure of how well you are 'known' by others. So if you switch, then you have to build your rep back up with others who WILL NOT trust you right away.
[*]How will this effect teaming? How much will this cause players to need to quit teams to keep their alignment where it is? The basic game gives you two variables - on a hero team and on a villain team. Some extended cotent adds a third - hero/villian team. This will add additional option for each giving six options - Hero-hero, hero- to villlain, Villain-Villian, Villlian- to hero, Hero/Villian - to hero, Hero/Villain- to villan. I think it will make teams harder to get and to recruit for. [*]A gray area where characters get access to both hero and villain stuff. [/list]
[/ QUOTE ]
...and it's hard enough to find a good team now. I wonder it they are going to do something about that... Team looking for member search or something.
[ QUOTE ]
I know that some players are looking for the option of side switching/Fable-type game play.
I know that the DCUO will have this as part of it's game mechanics. (Characters start neutral - last thing I read...)
Champs will not have this option as it won't even have the ability to make villains (at least at the start).
I don't want to oppose something that they want that will give the game more playability and extend the life-time of the game. I'm assuming most of the cross over will happen in the other dimension and the mechanics of it won't come into play in CoH or CoV; that is to say, all the good/evil alignment-tilting missions will be there and that is where your alignment would change.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think, that is exactly what they are doing. Competition in today's market is key to survival.
[ QUOTE ]
Basically, I'll sum it up with a tv ad slogan "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas".
For clarification that means, whatever you do in that alternate dimension just influences that dimension - market, sg/vg's/vault, etc. as it is an "alternate" dimension and not the same dimension. If you change sides, you lose everything except for what you have slotted and are carrying in trays (I'm not saying that players will have to start again at level 1 on the other-side once they go Rogue, but that may very well be the case...[that's not a troll, but I know it's going to start up some discussion. I'm putting it in because I just thought about it and who knows what's in the DEVs minds, and this is a pre-preemptive strike of sorts.]
[/ QUOTE ]
We don't know if that will be the case, but I don't think that the devs will be that obtuse about something so "big" to so many players.
[ QUOTE ]
I could rant more, but that would be just more ranting...time to stop .... for now.

By far the most articulate post yet. But my point is farm missions in AE appear to be bannable based on my current understanding of this new system.
[/ QUOTE ]
Then your current understanding is highly flawed, much like this idea.
Please quote where posi said farming alone was bannable. Please.
I will save you some time.
You can't. Why? because its not there. If its decided to punish some people it will be for abusing exploits in the system and not for farming.
Once again.
farming is not a bannable offense, using exploits is.
[u]I know you still wont understand[u], but I had to try.

1. Block Trial Accounts from sending email at all. (They currently can send at level 10.) Allow them to receive as normal, and to reply to received emails, but not to change any of the addresses on the reply.
2. Limit each global account to X number of emails per 24-hour period. Set "X" to whatever value allows a generous but reasonable use of email. Exempt SG members sending to SG/Coalition members. Allow all others to apply for exemptions on a case-by-case basis. Exempt all appropriate accounts at implementation. (Obviously, Mods/Devs/GMs/etc. would all be exempted.)
3. Put in filters that allow us to choose whom to accept Email from:
[x] ALL
[x] Friends List
[x] Global Friends List
Supergroup/Coalition and Game-related emails would not be blocked. Friends and Global Friends lists refer to the recipient's lists, not the sender's.
4. For extra credit, put SPAM ignore on its own list, thus restoring the functionality of our ignore list.
5. For Super Mega Extra Bonus Points, when an account is banned as a spammer, automatically delete ALL emails from that account, Server-wide.
This list is collected and refined from various people's posts all over the forums.
[/ QUOTE ]
If #3 were implemented, and depending on the particular settings and defaults, {example: Recieve from Trial Accounts? Default=No} #1 would not be needed and I believe full Email privledges could be granted to trial accounts.
Spammers using trial accounts would be unable to send to most of the playerbase, as they would have the default ignoring them. Legitimate users who give trial codes to thier buddies could toggle off the default setting so that they could hook up to play together.
If #3 is not implemented, then I'll take #1, #2, #4, #5 and a large Diet Coke, please.

Well, now - I'm curious, before this turns into a flame war... How much experience do you think I have?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd guess 1-3 years with MMOs, a few months with CoH.
[ QUOTE ]
Does lack or posession of experience thereof qualify me to have a opinion and post it about what I think is a sincere problem?
[/ QUOTE ]
Am I unqualified to opine to you that your opinion is incorrect? Are statements of fact or consensus (eg: "the second 50 has always been easier") irrelevant to your re-assessment of your opinions?
Don't bait, it's unbecoming.
[ QUOTE ]
I think that, having been a part of RPG's for about 30 years qualifies me to know something about game balance and how it can be tweaked.
[/ QUOTE ]
Absolutely. For PnP. This is a different ball game.
You wanna whip 'em out, fine; we'll compare resumes sometime. I don't think you'll come out ahead.
[ QUOTE ]
I have played and run publicly and privately. Feedback is always forthcoming, and the developers are as mortal as you and I - sometimes they appreciate a good suggestion.
[/ QUOTE ]
The low incidence of 'good' suggestions is part of why this forum is in the "for fun" section of the board rather than the "feedback" section.
[ QUOTE ]
That having been said, it is my sincere and informed opinion that the AE system **as it is** is harmful to the balance of the game. The solutions I have presented were a collaborative effort with 3 other (casual) players, who don't want to become forum members - they just want to play. So, don't think of my first post as being an ill-thought out, feeble attempt to make others conform. Consider it a playtesting group who threw out the unreasonable suggestions and useless rants, came up with the cream list, and is offering it up for consideration.
[/ QUOTE ]
Okay. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to take away from that. Weight of numbers? ...How large do you think the beta test group was?
I'm not sure which I find more insulting -- the alluded-to idea that of all the hundreds of experienced gamers who beta-tested i14, none of them came up with the ideas you did... or the part where you ignored me saying I was objecting to your complaints as uninformed, not your suggestions (save the accolade one. Where I explained my objection).
[/ QUOTE ]
...um... Jack? I just thought that I'd add to what you just stated with: A large number of these experienced players that are in the bete testings are also the same players that are experienced enough to write detailed guids for all to use. -
The following is not intended for those who have taken the time to articulate yourselves beyond more than just "no":
[ QUOTE ]
Has this topic come up before? I didn't think saying simply "no" was a good idea unless numerous others have said "no, because..." multiple times in threads that are easily found.
Why do you say "no"?
[/ QUOTE ]
I felt that it needed to be restated.
OP: While I, personally, wish that my stories could be more then 100kb and 3 published at a time. I just would not buy anything like this. I don't speak for anyone but myself. I don't know how many people would be for or against it. I just know that I'm not for it.

Well I think y'all are getting out of hand. Were just talkin, and Im not trolling. This forum needs the patience of the guy sweeping cigs at Disneyworld. Sound strange?! Ill explain.
Disneyworld in Orlando hires people dirt cheap. I mean not even $10 an hour. They do house and feed alot of students though. The point is for such meanial pay the cig sweeper has incredible patience. He's asked on average 63 times a day where Space Mountain is. Every single time he answers politely with the directions. Thats not a patience thru great character, but simply knowing each person really doesnt know.
I didnt know this topic was beat to death. So be like the cigarette sweeper at Disneyworld kids!

Come on! Look, all you have to do is search for all the other posts on this subject to see all of the reasons for and against this suggestion. You will plainly see that the reasons against this far out number the reasons for it.
So just stop rustling everyones feathers. We all can see that you are clearly not reading/comprehending what has been explained to you multiple times in this thread. -

Actually, you *can* edit MA arcs and custom critters offline. Find where they are stored on your computer, and open them with notepad. Have fun trying to figure it all out though. XD
So, it's possible, just a lot harder than it is in-game.

Oh Lordy!
Just incase anyone is wondering: DON'T DO THIS! It's confusing as hell! -
Oh, yes! But you just know there are "reasons" why this won't work... I don't know what they would be, though.
I would love to be able to have offline access to the MA mission creator format so that all you have to do is log in and upload you new content. -
you know what... this IS a good idea...
I have an arc (forgot the id and am not in game atm) called Death's Head Army that got rateed well as soon as I published it and would like more feed back. I also wanted to be able to return the favor to those that rate mine...
really good idea! -
