I didn't think we had badger costume parts.
How *do* you make a good badger character?
  2. AcceleratorRay

Depending on start time, I can bring a Kin/Rad defender.

Tuesday nights I've got regularly scheduled teaming.
Sunday evenings are dedicated to another game (PnP roleplaying)
Other than that, with advanced warning and sufficient
bribe for the wife, I can make most nights.

I can make 7pm PDT Saturday, September 18.

My badger (Kin/Rad defender) needs most of the Master badges (all of the red ones
and some of the blue) I'm game for trying (and currently on red side with him).

Scheduling will be the fun part. This Friday evening and all of Saturday are free.
  6. That looks better. My main remaining concern is having only one
real attack until 22, and the late slotting of the attacks. That'll
make leveling painful. It would be a little easier if you moved body
blow or smashing blow up in place of Icecicles, which you'll generally
have end problems with at that point anyways
  7. In contrast, here's my current thoughts for my Ice/Kin tank.

  8. Here's a rework, keeping as close as I could to your original power picks,
but adding in Power Siphon. The +hp bonus from Efficacy Adaptor in
Hibernate was one bonus too many (due to rule of five). I've left the
Scirocco's in Burst to give a little +psi def and for the +acc.

There's still 5 slots left to place - could use them for adding procs to the
    5-slotted melee attacks.

  9. Well, the build does softcap s/l and e/ne defenses. Other than
    that, some issues I see:

    1. You're skipping Power Siphon

    2. You're including full sets of some sets (Eradication, Scirocco's Dervish, Touch
of Death) that have positional defense bonus, when Ice is a typed defense set.
You are getting a fair bit of positional defense, but that will apply only to fire,
cold attacks which don't have s/l/e/ne components (very rare attacks).

    3. Energy Absorption could be better slotted with mix of EndMod and Def (try
to max out Def, Rech, EndMod)

    4. Having the knockdown proc in Quick Strike will make it convert to knockback
when the proc fires, as Quick Strike already has a chance for 0.7 Kb (which
already turns to knockback vs. lower-level foes)

    5. The Numina global would be better in Health, but it appears you want the full
set for the ranged def bonus
  10. AcceleratorRay

    Ugh, WHY KM!?

I thought you didn't drain damage unless power siphon was active. That's
what power description and numbers seem to say.

  13. 1. Powerset choices won't nerf a character. Heck, even power choices won't
nerf a character - unless you purposefully try to nerf yourself (like choosing
as many pool powers as possible). Each Archetype forum has a Guides topic
stickied. Now, for many archetypes, those guides haven't been added to
in the past year or so, but they're decent overviews of most of the powersets.

    2. No, you don't need to know the game well to play tank or controller (or any
    other archetype)

    3. No archetype is needed over any other. Still, in my experience, teams appreciate
what tanks and controllers can add to a team (aggro management, mob control,
    safety, buffs, etc)

    4. It depends. Tanks are generally acceptable solo (slower than a more damage
oriented archetype, of course). Controllers, some power combinations lack
sufficient damage-oriented powers to make soloing what I would consider fun.
Other controller combinations have acceptable damage.

    5. Yes, there is crafting (Invention Origin enhancements, temporary powers,
some costume items) and an economy (Consignment House market - cross-server,
and with Going Rogue it will be cross-faction as well). There's a nice forum with
folks who will help you come up to speed on the Market.

    6. Virtue and Freedom are the most populated US servers. Maturity is debatable
You could succumb to altitis early, and make one or more characters on each server
(or each faction [villain, hero] per server) so you'll always have someone to play.

    7. New players are very welcome. At the top of this forum, there's a sticky for the
Mentor Project, if you want someone to help show you the ropes.
  14. AcceleratorRay

    Mlgsf

    I've got a Kin/Rad defender I'd like to bring.
  15. Well drats, another Master of LGTF run, and I missed it.

I need all three Master of badges still. I'll keep an eye out
of TW 2.0 for other badgers.
  16. Well, I could drop Elixir in favor of hasten (to bring Hell on Earth and Noxious Gas
back faster). I like having mez-resist for my pets, as well as my team mates.

I've rarely needed a third slot in stamina since IOs came out, as the end reduction
from various sets helps a lot.

Neurotoxic Breath is getting another 1-3 slots, with some combination of
    range, recharge, end reduction.

Up to 19 so far in two nights of teaming, mostly with other Demon MMs.
  17. This will be my first use of poison secondary.
Current plan is to focus somewhat on +rech
bonuses, to help bring Hell on Earth and
Noxious Gas back faster. This is about the
only character I have where Mako patron powers
even vaguely fit, so I want to try those too.

I still have a number of slots to place
    (and even more to fill).

    Any suggestion?

    Traps/DP review

I'm nearing the point where I'll start outfitting with permanent IOs.
Any comments on the build below? I'm going for a mix of +def and
+recharge (the +acc is a happy side effect)

Remember Going Rogue? That's right, how could you forget? Well, you have the opportunity to get access to the Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning power sets in March and April, if you pre purchase City of Heroes Going Rogue (MSRP $29.99 USD)! You will also be able to get your hands on an exclusive item pack if you get the City of Heroes Going Rogue: Complete Collection (MSRP $39.99 USD), that will be available when Going Rogue releases in July! What's in that item pack, you ask? Well, a few nifty things like:

So - to get early access, we can preorder the regular version.
Will we be able to preorder the complete collection to get early access and
the extras, or will we need to get both (preorder + complete collection at
    $70 USD total)?

    Fire/Stone

Re: Immobilizes - I use the flashfire + firecages combo as standard control.

I also picked up Ring of Fire (instead of Hurl Boulder). It was a close choice,
and I might end up reversing it after trying for a while. But RoF has better
    damage, activation and recharge numbers.

    Fire/Stone

Get stamina. Leveling up, frankenslot to get good amounts of end reduction.

I've had fun with mine - fire recolored to look like radiation, using tinted
earth to add radioactive glow to those effects. Currently level 31, and
finally coming out of slot starvation. Getting ready to switch over to at
least some of my final sets.

My build plan (not sure if I'll take mud pots - small diameter, likely
won't be worth the end drain)

    Nin/nin build

    One off-the-cuff, PvE Nin/Nin build.
You can get by with only two recharge in Kuji-Rin, but
that leaves you vulnerable to slows.

Still plenty of slots left to play with.

take more than 2-3 days for my bids to fill.
