I did my first Mayhem Mission solo today with my new MM (can you guess which kind) - i have loved this entire game since day one - but i think that was the single MOST FUN THING i have ever done in this game - and on top of that i got a awsome Jet Pack temp power - which is a fantastic bonus for a lvl 8 character - i knew you devs were brilliant but you have far exceeded my expectations - cant wait to see what the hero version is like when its released.
Does anyone know how many diffrent temp powers are currently associated with the Mayhem Missions - and is one awarded ever mission?
As a side note i would also like to compliment you guys on the new info for the temp powers showing exactly how much time or how many charges you have left - I dont know about anyone else but one of the things i hated about the Bean Bag gun was i could never keep track of how many i had used to figure out how many i had left.
As always thank you devs for all your hard work - it is appreciated by many of us! -
Its Ghost Widow's Soul Storm - she used it in the COV trailer on one of the heros
From Patron Powers List:
Soul Storm - Like Ghost Widow, you will be able to summon the souls of your victims to do your bidding. Soul Storm enraptures a single target, holding them while their life-force is drained from their body. You must have one other Soul Mastery power before selecting this power. -
OMG OMG OMG, i dont care if they are not originally what everyone wanted - or even if they are not what they consider the final version - I MUST HAVE THAT TRENCH COAT TYPE COSTUME PIECE!!!!!!!!!!

Silver Circle Faith and the Muse
Wish I had an Angel Night wish
Is it a Dream The Damned
White Night Fantasy Night wish
Iron Man Ozzy Osborne
Hymn Ultravox
Grimly Fiendish The Damned
I, Voyager Nevermore
Dark Half Die Laughing
Cernunnous Faith and the Muse -
Manticore - you officialy have my dream job - for years now i have wanted to get into story writing for use in video games - how long did it take you to get there and what steps did you have to go through and i am not talking about just with Cryptic.

Quick Question going to something said in the Archery posts - am i missing something or is there NO sniper shot in Sonics - making it the only blaster primary/defender secondary that dosent have one?

Ok, this set is currently undergoing a revision.
The fact was that it was too "Controllery" for a Defender power. There were also a lot of redundant debuffs that made the set VERY powerful.
Here are a list of changes that are currently being made. They are not in a patch yet, so I don't know when they will make it to the Training Room server:
<ul type="square">
Net Arrow: Removed Recharge debuff from Net arrow (Set already has many recharge debuffs)
Ice Arrow: Ice Arrow is now available later (swapped availability of Ice arrow and flash arrow). Increased recharge and decreased duration of Ice Arrow. Reduced Slow debuff. (To bring it in line with similar hold powers like Petrifying Gaze). Reduced base Accuracy of Ice Arrow. It was 120% of normal and should not have been.
Poison Gas Arrow: Increased Recharge of Poison Gas Arrow to 60 seconds from 24 seconds to prevent multiple stacking. Removed Recharge debuff from Poison Gas Arrow. Reduced its duration/lifetime. Reduced its chance to sleep. Fixed Poison Gas Arrow visual f/x.
Acid Arrow: Reduced Damage Resistance debuff of Acid Arrow. (Set has 2 damage resistance debuffs that could stack)
Disruption Arrow: Reduced Damage Resistance debuff of Disruption Arrow. (Set has 2 damage resistance debuffs that could stack). Increased Recharge rate of Disruption Arrow to 120 for Defender and Controller to prevent multiple stacking
Glue Arrow: Reduced Duration of Glue Arrow from 45 seconds to 30 second and Increased Recharge time from 20 seconds to 120 seconds to prevent multiple stacking. Fixed Glue Arrow visual f/x.
Flash Arrow: Added the ability to add Accuracy Enhancements to Flash Arrow. Fixed Controller version so it no longer AutoHits.[/list]

Well i havent had a chance to test the higher ones yet so i have no comment on them
But i have tested Net, Ice, and Glue
Net Arrow - for defender it, to me, is as useless as Web Grenade for blasters in general, i have many */Dev characters and i think in there entire life time i have used web grenade 3 or 4 times at most, thats saying something since several of them are in there 20s. I will always hate the fact that we do not have the choice of 1 of the 1st 2 powers in our secondary sets, since in several of them i usually just end up deleting that powers icon from my tray since i wont use it - but yet it still takes up a power slot that could be used for something i actually need but usually cant take because i dont have the slots.
Ice Arrow - i think the recharge increase is a bit to much - i am also not happy with the change in location - even though i dont have practical experience with it much yet, in every build i designed using trick arrow i have no plans on taking flash arrow at all - which then means as a defender i am going to be stuck with a useless primary set power regardless of which of the first 2 i take.
Glue Arrow - sorry but that recharge is to high - it is basically the same as tar patch in my opinion (only diffrence is it dosent have the debuff) which is a power i like - but the recharge on tar patch is only 45 seconds - at least the live version - and i dont think that got changed - i feel that the recharge on glue arrow should be 45 seconds -
/Rant on
I can live with "Created History", but as a good little Pagan boy who is focused on Celtic Religion i am gonna be a little peeved if the Tuatha De Dannan are all represented as evil.
/rant off

You know it might have been the original beta for Numina after she was created by the person who won the contest - and when do we get Fishnets for Costume Options - they would go great with the new skirts! -

Hey Raven, what happened to your logo - and are we ever going to find out about your in game version - we have heard the backstory on every other Trainer/TF Giver - you need to demand equal rights - he seems like a cool character i want to know what he is all about - and any plans for Ravenstorm or Moonglow to get Pratoriean Counterparts - everyone else has them!!
[/ QUOTE ]
In Moonfire story it say she was a college student. Since all the trainers and TF givers are connected some how I'm betting that they both went to Witherop University or something like that. As for Preatorian conterparts, Sunice and...well Ravenshadow.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ok havent heard of Sunice - whats the 411 on her? -

Agreed.
We should try NEVER to change a power because of PvP alone (BTW, this is what I've always promised). The changes now aren't solely because of PvP - there's signifcant PvE issues, too.
[/ QUOTE ]
I am interested in knowing what aspect of SS and SJ is so overwhelming off-kilter in PvE that they need to be so curtailed?
[/ QUOTE ]
It wasn't fair.
Nerfing 2 powers, established for a year is easier then buffing one power (removing -acc from fly) for balance.
Check the "patch explation" by statesman.

I am still a little worried that people arent getting the point - this game is suppose to be a challenge - it was never ment to be - or should it ever be Easy - that really is the bottom line - removing the Debuff would have brought back the Fly By Attacks - yea i know this is suppose to be based on a comic book and everyone in the comics can do stuff like that - but the bottom line is that it is a GAME based on comics - the GAME part has to come first - no challenge no replayability - to give a simple comparison - ON regular computer games a person gets the cheat codes and breezes through the game - sure that can be fun for a while - but in the end you get bored and move on to something else - god knows i have over 100 game disks starring me in the face right now on my desk - i have already beaten them all either fairly or by using cheat codes - once in a while i might go "Hey let me play this one again for fun" but honestly most of them are just sitting there gaining dust - which is ok - Those games dont survive on me having to pay into them monthly - once i buy it most devlopers could care less if i play it once or twice or even ever - they got the money already - replayability is the lifes blood of CoH - so even though we might not all like it they need to fix things that reduce the replayability of this game in order for the company to survive and to keep bring us who play more and more content - Think about it - we are about (dam soon i hope) to get a 4th update to a game for free - almost every other MMOrpg makes you spend money almost any time they update something - sure people will be upset about the changes, some people might have to alter the tactics they use on a character, sure people will quit, at least for a while, but in the end there are more people who will stay, some might even approve of the changes, and keep paying the monthly fee that keep Coh alive, and allows the developers to bring us new free content.
(2 notes - 1. Yes i know there is little to no punctuation but unfortunately i type in stream of thought - please forgive me and 2. I am not exactly a brown noser, some who know the name will know on occasion i openly disagree with the Devs, but in all honesty the devs have yet to truly "Nerf" anything in a way that has ever truly effected me or ruined a character i have, we are humans, we can adapt to any situation and rethink strategies, i am not saying it wont happen some day, it just hasnt yet) -
Wow hostility is running rampant on the boards tonite!

Now...what about PENNY PRESTON!?! Will that freaky little kid be in the comic?
[/ QUOTE ]
There is a chance we might have i4 before the comic is released - there will be tons of freaky little kids running around by then - i myself have plans for at least 2 - poor Penny will loose her status as the only child character in Paragon - but she can still claim she was the first.
[/ QUOTE ]
There are children NPCs on the test server?
[/ QUOTE ]
No but tons of children PCs have been spotted, NPC was not specified, just only current child character at all, and with the new zones in the future she might not be the only Child NPC either, we just have to wait and see -

Who exactly ARE the surviving eight, and why are they CALLED the surviving eight?
[/ QUOTE ]
Greetings,
The Surviving Eight are: Statesman, Positron, Synapse, Sister Psyche, Citadel, Manticore, Numina and Back Alley Brawler. They all agreed to remain in Paragon City after the Rikti War, to coordinate the efforts of the new heroes arriving every day.
Ms. Liberty is in fact Statesman's Sidekick but she leads a group of heroes herself. They are called the Vindicators: Minx, Valkyrie, Swan, Infernal, Luminary and most recently Aurora Borealis.
Cheers.

All I can say is poor poor Infernal, I must take them 2 hours to figure out which outfits they want to fight crime in that night. And the bickering good Lord the bickering. Pray for Infernal.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ahh - but now i think we know the real reason Malaise went insane again - He would have been a member of this group and i doubt Infernal was much of a Support System for him - it was the women who drove him nuts again!!!! -

so, what's the story with raven out in striga isle? Anyone know?
[/ QUOTE ]
I wonder that myself - but if it follows the suit i have said in my SK post - It would mean he has some connection to Moonfire - so it is not impossible to beleive he might be a Warshade she is allied to - just because his eyes aren't glowing Dosen't mean he isn't - plus he has sunglasses on anyways - Since Moonfire was a Literature/Poetry Student he might have been her boyfriend or something while she was still fully human - he looks kind of artsy goth boy esque - and his name is RAVENstorm sounds like an Artsy Poet's Pen name -
Hey its Anime - strange hair colors even on guys is par for the course - just wait to see what anime fans come up with once I4 goes live - even i myself have many many more alts planned

This song gets such a bad rap - i own the original album and it is actually very good even if you dont understand Romanian, there has only been 1 video of it i have ever liked - and that is the one O-Zone actually did for it themselves for the European Equal of MTV - 1 version until now - THAT WAS ADORABLE - finally a video of some one enjoying the song and not making fun of it - YAY Miss_Kitty - thanks for sharing it.
Now back to the topic - actually from following the backstories and badges i had thought that each of the survivng 8 had a side kick in the trainers
Lets see what i can do from memory here
Statesman = Ms. Liberty - always just thought that was a given
Positron = Valkyrie - Backstory and Destin for Vallhalla Badge
Synapse = Mynx - Backstory and Nimble Mynx Badge
Back Alley = Blue Steel - what little backstory there is connects - yes they were both in the Regulators
Citadel = Luminary - just seemed appropriate the 2 androids were a team since they are the only 2 who probably can have a conversation on the same lvl
Numina = Infernal - Backstory
Manticore = Swan - Backstory
Sister Psyche = Malaise - Backstory (but with I4 that becomes Sister Psyche = Aroura Borealis based on the new backstory - its a shame some one with such cool fashion sense turn out to be evil again - Malaise will be missed as a friend)
With that info it isnt a big leap to think as the SideKicks have matured that they would end up forming a team and be heros in their own rights -
