    I do have one request though, St0n3y. Is there any way you can make Mastermind -> Traps -> Detonator show the damage it does? It technically "grants" the bomb ability to a minion, and there's no way to show the hard numbers OF the bomb ability.
    Amen. That's always been rather annoying.

    Also, EAT's semi-break the window, in that I cant see the damage bar, even in fullkscree mode when the little window in the bottom left is fully open. This is probably due to me having a widescreen monitor, but it is fairly irritating =/
  2. I wonder if people actually factor the recent economic downturn into the 'not many people are coming back' comments?

    The Governments can bleat all they want, people still got hit fairly bad by that.

    I run this on all my alts, Kheldian or not.
    The above bind lets TAB run as normal, untill you are looking at a spawn with one of those enemies in it.

    Useful. Shall use. Especially since I just went and rolled a Warshade yesterday.

    Perhaps previous comments on the forum biased me a bit. Hell, I think anyone gets a bit hacked after four full teamwipes

    *Goes Nicti hunting*
  4. Bots/Traps has the ability to be nigh untouchable. I know that sometimes on full teams with SG, I get sidetracked and end up slaughtering my way off down a corridor, before I get the yell of 'Al; This way, not that way!'

    Key pointers;

    -Dont bother with the attack powers. No, seriously. I did for a long, long time, and it took me making a build on test to realise just how much you do not need them. They do meh damage, have redrawn and cost way too much end.

    -Get Maneuvers and Tactics. Possibly hover, too. Combined with FF gen and your protector bots, your defence can easily edge up to the softcap, and this is without IOs. With IOs? Say hello to mister untouchable.

    -Poison Trap, Trip Mine. If you dont get this combo, there is something wrong with you. Poison trap is a monster that renders whole mobs immobile, puking their lunch out. Trip mine just adds GBH to injury, before flinging whats left of them across the room.

    Here's what I'm running Alpha on at the moment (not yet complete, some of these pieces are evil to get redside)

    No, it couldn't be that the devs are fixing what they perceive to be a mistake on their part. That never happens.

    So you're pissy because you spent all that time grinding a character to 50 just to unlock Epic ATs.

    Trying to care......trying to care.....Hmmm, I just completely failed to give a crap.

    Conversely Being a Plant/Emp controller on a constantly full PuG of DP Blasters plus various others makes me feel like I did 4 years ago starting the game (except I know what I'm doing). I'm actually playing an MMO again.

    Once i17 rolls around I'll basically be able to remake my Kheld or try out a Crabby easily, and be fairly sure they won't just be soloing chunks of the game.
    Shoulda tried moving to Union, it was busy over DXP.
    Traitah! ¬¬
  7. Because people just seem incapable of getting into their minds this simple fact;

    The Devs meaning of 'Epic' is in reference to storyline. 'Epic Plot', not 'Epic power'. The reason the EATs will not get changed is because so much of what they are is tied heavily into canon. Even power colour, although I heavily disagree on that part. After all, for an energy being, say, I see no reason why they cant be different colours, but others seem to disagree. *shrug*

    Either way, EATs already have WAY more power choices than any other one AT, so much so that you can potentially have near infinite ammounts of choice with them, so much so that you are actualyl running out of slots by the time you get to 50.

    If theres one thing I'd love to see it would be the choice to 'trade in' a power for, say, three slots. That way you don't have to cram in some power you're not actually wanting to take, but cant skip a power as it is. I know I'd die for that on my new Warshade.
  8. I can sum this up even more so than people have already done (rather well, might I add)
    And that is;

    /jranger
  9. Ok, was getting to the point of not knowing what the hell to take without gimping certian powers. Shades and PBs are always nightmares to build, for me anyhow.
    Mark 2, again feedback much appreciated;

    Massive assumption, no paragraphingm use of collective 'All'...
    Yup, I think we have a winner!
  11. Ok....had a look and threw together a Vanilla build (I always run through first time on Vanilla SO/IO, then move onto a Setted build)

    Does this look any good? Given I have to respec at level 6/7 to get this to work, I would rather do it right;

    Personally, though, I'd like to see customization of basic sounds, such as foot steps, grunts, possibly breathing, Taunt and so on. For instance, it KILLS me that all of my women sound like they're walking in high heels, even when they're wearing giant armoured boots or are walking around barefoot. Allowing me to pick my footstep sounds from even a small selection like slapping bare feet, clanging metal boots, goose-stepping jack boots or, yes, even clopping high heels would be great. I know we have a few different surfaces to have footstep sounds on, but I'm not sure there are too many. It just feels REALLY weird to see a girl running around in bare feet and sound like she's hammering a stake on each step.

    Or how about NO footstep sounds because you're a silent ninja?

    Grunting, taunting and shouting sounds would be very cool, as well. Generally I don't mind, but especially the female ones are deigned around the voice of a fairly shouty adult woman with a somewhat deeper voice, and so are completely inappropriate for very young girls. Not that the breasts slider will let us make them, but that's besides the point. Robotic grunts would probabl be cool, too, as would beastly growls, insect clicks and even just NOTHING.

    It's the little things that pile up to make a good game great (or a bad game terrible).
    ^ very true. /Signed to the suggestion.

The problem is that the team is left with the three options I listed above; ban Kheldians from joining the team, play much lower than their preferred settings in case a Cyst spawns, or play at the preferred settings knowing that the team-wiping cyst is imminent.

    Given these choices, which would you suggest?
    Beat me to it, MI.

    We were coping just fine with +3. It was 'just right', not too easy, but not massacre level hard.
    The Cyst was all it took to push it straight into faceplant levels. But, apparently, it was the fault of the team? I don't buy it, frankly.
  14. My Crab spider got two levels by helping curb-stomp Reichsman into the floor. A team with a Zombie/Dark MM, Night Widow, Crab, full elec brute and a kin corr? And then some? It wasn't a fight. It was a symphony of destruction

    Oh, and my DP Blaster got from level 13 to lvl 31 thanks to SG mates and near constant teaming all day saterday good times.

    True. But I played the character, and enjoyed it, until suddenly something changed and it was no longer fun. Certainly not something I ever did to him (although multiple botched respecs were all part and parcel)
    The game is about the journey. And deleting a character that got to 50 and had that journey and could have more is not something I would do lightly. But when its a toss off between having that History, and actually being fun to play...I'll take the fun every single day.
  16. Ok, I'll bite once more, and dip into the Ex-Nicto pool of darkness and badass.

    However, the main problem I run into is this;
    What does one aim for in a Triform Shade?
    Is the human form basically a holder for things like Mire and Eclipse, before switching to whichever form is appropriate at the time? Or is it more subtle than that, with a balance needed between the three?

    Basically, using Mids and whatnot, I need to know a few key things;

    -Which powers to take as soon as they arrive?
    -Which powers to avoid like grim(er) death?
    -What to aim for in slotting?

    Any and all help is much appreciated.

    No, I'm not bitter at all.
    Yeah...like it's the way it was always my fault the bloody staff taking the orders AND the kitchen staff always managed to get things wrong on busy weekends when I worked at the pub. And how the lack of communication was clearly the fauly of the poor schmuck who was trying to get about ten damn tables taken out at once.

    There were some people in that job who were very lucky not to be wearing the meals they paid for, nevermind them being a tad late when we were jam packed ¬¬
  18. Hogwash. By that arguement, Energy/Energy blasters are entirely useless, which is far from true.

    People seem to have this huge bea in their bonnet about KB.
    Simple solution to the scenario you mentioned; ask him/her to wait till AFTER RoA had gone off. Problem solved.
  19. For EATs?
    Not going to happen.

I wouldn't care if I had to settle for a numerically weaker set, as long as I don't actually have to reroll the guy, because he's IOed out to the gills.

    Sometimes, **** happens. Being able to respec a single powerset on your character once in its lifetime might not be the worst idea ever. Hell, excluse the Buff/DeBuff sets for all I care, or only allow it for people with five years of Vet Badges. There is merit to the idea.
    First time I felt that way? Realising that my Invul/EM Tanker sucked large round spherical objects.

    Im currently in the process of gutting his IOs and re-rolled him as Invul/Elec with a name change thanks to server transfers and a solid build from the get go.
    But damn thats a lot of work down the drain =[
  21. I....might answer if I could understand the question.

    1) Keep at the current settings, and accept that they WILL get stomped hard when the Cyst shows up.
    2) Drop the difficulty and hope a Cyst shows up for that one fight that's at the difficulty the team was looking for.
    3) Don't invite the Squid.

    They just need to figure out which one is the least unappealing.
    I wasn't the team leader

    Also, the fact option 3 at all is kind of...well..sad? The Devs said the reason they were lowering the level for EATs was because they didnt want them to be locked out to the wider player base.

    So when it comes to there being more Kheldians around, will people simply not invite them?
    "We don't want Kheldians, we get Cysts!"
    I really hope not...

  25. The hour long -fly effect from the swarms. The fact they were everywhere. The god damn - TP effect... I mean, NO other group in the game has that bloody effect!
    No map...I utterly despise having no map. I mean, I've been there, ergo I will have it noted or something. Not just 'No Map'...I mean, the hells?

    My trial experience so far has been an excercise in patience and pain management, so far. If they can do a Trial that doesnt make me feel like taking a flamethrower to the nearest batch of innocent weeds, thats good. If its anything like the current trials then no, thanks all the same...
