  1. If ambushes trigger several ta the same time you're either doing somthing wrong (eg. moving around while the first ambush is still moving towards you) or there's a bug somewhere.

    The exception are I think, three missions (and gnerally those are distinguished by a big yellow "HORDE APPROACHING!" and those are weakened versions and not egular spawns)

I think the Dr. Stefford on with the seer ambushes (yeah, thse were nasty) arne't endless: They're triggered at particular points but all you have to do is wait for them and kill them as they come (and I went through that arc as a stalker too, it was annoying, especially since I didn't have KB protection)
  3. At least a couple of these ambushes are rather clearly tagged as "Don't fight, RUN!"

    What rules? They deal a new damage type. It's no differen than invuln having a psi-hole, onlyit applies to all tankers. (and not just tankers) and thus require some different tinkering.

    BM *isn't* a brute force thing precisley becuase of the mechanics (she has a very good DOT patch that forces you to move around) yes, in a sense it's a brute force thing in that it requires you to get her HP down to zero, but then again, this IS a superhero game, where ultimately, everything comes down to punching

    One of the things I've always liked with COH is the wide variety of powers and tricks enemies throw at you. The DEV's seem set on expanding that.

    EDIT: And oh, what exactly would you consider NOT to be a brute-force encounter?

    That's maifestly untrue: Ever since Romm there's been an emphasis on different strategies (that rommy is brute-forced moreoften than not nowadays is a result of us becoming more powerful) BM is a perfect example: She's far smaller a number than Reichsman, but she has some abilities that makes the encounter play differently. The same is true for the STF (LRSF less so, although even there the supporing abilities of the Freedom Phalanx make it a somwhat diferent fight)

    The BAF is similar what with the sequestration warnings, the towers, etc. etc.

    EDIT: And of course, the new TF's are based on TEAMS. Yeah, you don't have a to-hit buff (unless you picked up Tactics) but hopefully SOMEONE does. (and if not, get a different team)

    No, not unslotted with regards to IO's: He didn't have any enhancements slotted at all.

    At best, he taught the Tuathua farming after trying to usurp the throne back with the help of BALOR.

    Though the devs are clearly equal opportunity in their lack of research when they turned Romulus Augustus into a ten foot, power-hungry, psychopath who made deals with nazis from the future and space aliens.
    Not to mention that the roman unfiorms are all wrong for that timeframe.

    (Hint: 5th century legionaires do not look like 1st century ones)

    Actually, the game was never balanced against even-level enemies. The TF's were always having you fight at least +1 or +2 enemies towards the end, sometimes more. (Rommie is level 52 minimum, for instance)
  12. I actually think the devs are fairly clever: They notice what people use to try to break the game and (try to) counteract it (unfortunately they can't go all out ball-busting or people would whine, but they d change stuff)

    Eg. People with softcapped defence being invulnerable: Higher level foes and +to-hit and accuracy (and defense debuffs) on enemies.

    They've also given a lot of enemies healing/regen debuffs, which is a nice way of keeping "saturate everything with greeen numbers" from being a no-brainer solution.

    BM's death patches encourages range rather than melee.

    There's more stuff to do, but they've actually been fairly good with leveraging existing mechanics.

After all, the Syndicate were trying to stop the bombing. Why can't I help them?

    Though, I suppose, given the limitations of faction-on-faction warfare, this kind of works.
    Because the you don't know Octavian unless you do the other arcs, and the Syndicate probably won't talk to you unless you have an "in" (they seem like a pretty insular group)

Apex/Tin Mage is perfectly doable with just SO's (or generic IO's) It's a bit more annoying, but it's not a real problem assuming people know what they're doing have at least slightly team-oriented builds (inherent stamina has helped a lot with this, since a lot of people pick up leadership powers, which are very helpful)

  21. Depending on the specific recipe, a purple will sell on the auction house for between 20 (that's the cheapest price i've seen for a purple recipe, which is not to say it is the cheapest price anyone has wrangled out of one) to hundreds of millions.

    Even the Soulbound Allegience (generally the cheapest) sell for 20-30 million.

    A level 50 common recipe will sell for roughly 100,000 (give or take a bit) from a vendor.

    Doctored Wounds seeems to sell for 1-5 million or so (but I've seen people pay up to 15 million for them) some other yellows like Crushing Blow seems to go in a similar price-range.

    Damage procs seem to sell for 10-20 milion (Cloud Senses: Chance for Negative Damage is for some reason really expensive and usually goes for like 40 million)

    Some of the really good procs (Miracle + recovery, Numina +regen/recovery) sell for 40-80 million.

    Simply by playing casually chances are you'll get at least one of these things.

    EDIT: Or you can spend 30 minutes four days in a row to get two alignment merits, buy a LOTG 7.5% recharge, and sell it for 150 milion.

    He's specifically deployed there to do a job. (A job he enjoys, but that's a different matter) he's an arachnos agent, working under Arachnos orders.

    I repeat: By no metric possible is Lord Recluse better than Tyrant (except that he is less competent: He has not, after all, taken over the world, which makes Tyrant a greater *threat* but that's a different matter entirely) everything Tyrant does Recluse does and worse. He is more oppressive, his citizens live in greater squalor, Tyrant is constrained by at least trying to maintain the *facade* of benevolence. Recluse has no such constraints.

    Which does not mean that he does not treat his lackeys well as long as they are successful (and has a grudging respect for those who manage to trick or overpower him) but then again: So does Cole.
