Yeah....of course they are. We already said this would happen before they implemented the toggledrop nerf with issue 7.
Why would you play the hard way when you can just play in easymode with tanks and scrappers nowadays? -
I actually don't know but as you've said yourself I've never seen it miss either.
In PvE I've never bothered with more than the 3 recharges but in PvE extra hold durations does indeed keep the targets held for a longer period. Can't see why the same shouldn't apply to PvP?
I would probably just stick with 3 recharges and if you got the extra slots, put some hold durations in there . -

I'd recommend not taking FF with any set other than energy blast.
[/ QUOTE ]
ermmkaaay......??
[/ QUOTE ]Energy blast is the ONLY powerset that has enough synergy with FF to make a character with FF fun, IMO. YMMV, of course.
[/ QUOTE ]
Seeing this is the controller boards I don't see why a defender combo should be the "ONLY", as you put it, way to make this a fun set....your fun may not be others idea of fun.
Pretty sure some masterminds would disagree with your statement aswell.
I do agree however the synergy between most troller sets arent that great with FF....mind/ff is a good combo though. -

sure....send me a tell @Archy

As said before FF isnt exactly the best for soloing and can be boring even in teams (this is my personal opinion and yours may differ )
Grav is a competent solo set but I would still recommend either fire, illusion or mind as soloing primaries.
Either radiation or kinetics and to a lesser extent storm and trick arrow for soloing secondaries. -

for a /kin or /rad troller who can debuff and keep themselves alive hot feet is truly amazing due to containment
for a dom with no debuffs, no containment and no good way of staying alive i wouldnt bother, unless u want a little bit of unreliable stalker protection in a zone

Loved it till the mid 30's then switched to Choking Cloud instead. Still use it but with Fireball and Fireblast I find I just don't need it as much as I used to.

You've been talking to Chillblaze/Pyrus too much Ma'aT
*points to Archy's post about Hot Feet's damage*
[/ QUOTE ]
Doesn't that depend on how long the fight lasts?

AoE is king in PvE -

Rarr!! -
Hot Feet is VERY endheavy and basically impossible to run before stamina and SOs and even after that it's very hard without outisde buffs.
After Transference at lvl 35 you won't have any problems but until then I suggest teaming up with a kinetic and to a lesser extent rad or empathy defender or controller for the endbuffs.
This shouldn't discourage you btw...Hot Feet is an awesome power and will outdamage the imps so stick with it....it's worth it -
Personally think doms shouldn't go for Hotfeet. The lack of debuffs/damage mitigation from a controllers secondary will probably get you killed more than than it actually benefits you + the fact that Hotfeet (only) really shines with containment.
Incinerate, Fire Breath and Fire Blast should be plenty of damage before Imps...+ you get Blaze at 38 -
Basically what CyberKnight and Okton said. If you can afford the endusage it's absolutely brilliant.
Outdamages imps too
what's your secondary? -
well....it's fairly handy in your lowlvls but loses some of its appeal when you progress in lvls...but as Standoff said it can still be handy.
As a sidenote...I would definately take it if you wish to PvP as the -perception is a lifesaver (it's not autohit in PvP so need to slot accuracy if PvPing) -
Believe it's only about -5% so not exactly worth it for the tohit debuff.
The -perception is very nice though. -

This post is written in the knowledge that it will likely be ignored.

It's all stuff Cerberus and I already know and have pre-planned so yeah, I for one will be ignoring it and other boring criticism I disagree with, in the hope to prevent debates. This thread is to recruit joiners to the Fire/Rad team, discuss meetings and has been a medium for displaying builds amongst ourselves. I know the build I want and will continue to ignore criticism, and make it known. I think thats fair.

If you know a power will be of no use for you....then why make the mistake and still take that power?
I've come to the conclusion that theres nothing we can ever do to convince you that theres actually other people on these boards with valid points and opinions than your own.
And every advice given in this thread have been contructive criticism. If you choose to cover your ears and go LALALALALALA that's your own choice I guess... -

oh noes! it's teh public forums!!
Seriously...a little advice (even though it seems friendly advice isn't welcome here apparantly)
Not really any reason in taking Assault. It's a very nice damage boost but you should be at the damage cap (or very close) with 6-8 EFs and 6-8 AMs.
Guess you're just gonna dismiss this as you seem to be doing with everyone who offers you constructive criticism but thought I'd give it a go anyway.... -

I was thinking of all the situations, I tooked invisibility so that I could be like a stalker with hide I know if I wanted that I should've made a stalker even though it is cool to play I've just never prefered close combat so why not just stealth most of the map? since stealth also has good defense and the slow debuff I was thinking I could topple that over with Siphon Speed...
[/ QUOTE ]
Stealths defense is neglible at best + if it's really the defense you're interested in, invisiblity is better....theres really no point in taking both powers. -

Personally, I prefer SS+IR for kin.

What do you use for knockback protection?
[/ QUOTE ]I class knockback and mezzes as part of the 'squishy experience', and thus don't get protection from them (unless I have fly or jumping for other reasons, in which case I may take them).

Yeah....why play to your full potential?

22) --> Taunt==> Taunt(22) Taunt(23)
[/ QUOTE ]
Taunt has a tohit check in PvP so this slotting won't be of much use. Slotting ought to be 2 acc, 0-2 recharge, 0-2 taunt duration. -
Fast reply:
Yes, Kins can go without Stamina and a travelpower.
In depth reply:
After you get Transference slotted at 36 you will probably need Stamina so consider having a pre and post Transference build.
Yes, travelpowers arent needed especially after Inertial Reduction but again it's a long haul to lvl 28 before picking it up. You can rely on Siphon Speed for your travel pre IR but this gets kinda iffy if you find yourself in a zone with significantly higherlvl mobs than yourself.
You're taking the entire Concealment pool? So you want to switch between Stealth and Invisibilty for kicks? Guess you got a plan with this
Dark Pit really isnt very good. Poor accuracy and only disorients minions.
Life Drain? Absolutely no point since you have Transfusion.
You definately want Gloom. Nice damage and a very good accuracy debuff.
Torrent I might want to try out on test before picking it up. The knockback doesnt synergize well with Kin and it very much depends on playstyle. Personally I don't like it.
Some other thingamagiks:
As I said Stamina isn't needed but it's very nice to have...basically you dont have don't have to watch your endbar much as you will without it + Swift and Hurdle from Fitness is just so damn nice to have aswell.
You may not want Super Speed but Hasten is always very very nice to have.
I'm an Acrobatics junkie; espcially on my Kins. Being knocked back from your Transfusion/Transferance is VERY annoying so I always tend to go for the leaping pool even though you can pick up IR + the fact that a Hurdle/Combat Jumping combo slotted for jump is just too good to pass on.
I have no experience with Patron Powers so can't give any input on that account -
I can understand a PvE build without Taunt but a PvP orientated build as you say without taunt?? Probably the most important tank power in PvP IMO
-
Seeing you don't have Aim in Dark Blast I would probably advise 1 acc in the nuke but anymore than that isn't really needed.
2 recharges in it will bring it around roughly every 200 seconds (without outside buffs). -
[ QUOTE ]
I would also definately recommend picking up the leadership pool for acrobatics...
[/ QUOTE ]
That would be the leaping pool Powern00b
