  1. Alright...Here's my take on it. Yes the name is still a bit meh. This is taken from another thread where it was getting buried under other replies, and I figured it was worth polishing and submitting as it's own idea.

    Blast set: Armour Blast
Armour Blast utilises various armemants to bring down your opponents. Maybe you are encased in highly advanced armour, the part cyborg result of a science experiment, an enchanted construct fuelled by arcane and destructive energies, or a mutant who's abilities allow you to power or control multiple systems at once. How does not matter; a powerful arsenal is yours to command.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tier 1 - Chain Burst: Ranged, Moderate Damage, Lethal, -Def
You fire a quick burst from one of your chain guns. This attack does only moderate damage, but it is quick to use and will lower your foes defences slightly.

Tier 2 - Laser Blast: Ranged, High Damage, Energy/Fire
A blast from one of your arm lasers, which is slower but makes up for it with higher damage.

Tier 3 - Heavy Burst: Ranged (Cone), Moderate Damage, Lethal, -Def
You open fire with both chain guns, dousing the area in a storm of blasts. This attack does moderate damage and will lower enemies defences.

Tier 4 - Micro Missile: Ranged (Targeted AoE), Moderate Damage, Smash/Fire
The Micro Missiles housed inside your gauntlet's trade off a heavier payload for ease and speed of use. They are capable of damaging multiple foes within an area.

    Tier 5 - Overclock: Self +Hit +DMG
Overclocking allows your weapons to operate at a higher degree for a few moments, increasing your chance to hit and slightly increasing the damage of all attacks. This overclock period is brief, otherwise it would risk overloading your weapons.

Tier 6 - Hunter Seeker: Sniper, Extreme Damage, Smash/Fire, Minor Fire DoT
The Hunter Seeker missile is effectively an aimed and locked on Micro Missile. This lock-on requires time, and the attack can be interupted. It is incredibly accurate however, and calibrated for one target rather than area of effect, ensuring high damage to its target.

Tier 7 - Laser Beam: Ranged, Superior Damage, Energy/Fire, -Regen
This is a higher powered, slightly more draining version of the standard laser beam, fired from both gauntlets. It is, however, incredibly powerful, and the resulting laser burn can slow a foes regeneration afterwards for quite some time.

Tier 8 - Incendiary Swarm Missiles: Ranged (Targeted AoE), High Damage, Smash/Fire, Moderate Fire DoT
These incendiary missiles fire as a large cluster, dousing an area in flames. The intial blast in itself is quite powerful, but the lingering flames will contine to burn any foes as long as they remain in the area.

Tier 9 - Swarm Missile Barrage: Ranged (Targeted AoE), Extreme Damage, Smash/Fire, Knockback
The swarm missiles are the heavier cousins of the micro missiles, and trade ease of use and speed for sheer destructive force. Slow to reload and more taxing to use, they nevertheless deliver the most powerful blow in your arsenal in a wide area of effect.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, there we have it. I'd say either include special 'Weapons Gauntlets' as a weapon or, better yet, use pop-up or 'attachable' weapons that simply stacked onto the arm, a bit like the Vanguard Shield or the Crab Spider Backpack. If these could be built with customisation in mind (high tech, standard and magic flavour) then I cant see any reason why it wouldnt work.

    ^This.

Let him see Ultra Mode as the 'New standard', especially on a high end rig, and with all the shinies. That, and the complete edition (if you can get it) will allow him to get a few neat bonuses in too.

  4. /Signed for a build and muscle slider. I hate trying to make slim characters, male and female, that nonetheless have really harshly defined muscles.
  5. Do I make those new-build powersets for nothing...? Do people just magically coast over them, or something? *sigh*

Did it occur to you how broken this would be? I'm presuming this would be a scrapper powerset. Scrappers can ALREADY solo AVs. This set would make it stupidly easy to do so.

Besides....can you say City of Jedi? I'm guessing George Lucas might have a thing or two to say about this idea, since he has the light saber copyrighted, registered, trademarked, and any other thing you can do to protect an intellectual property. Lawsuits have been won with less, and Lucas WOULD sue.
Not to mention people keep shoving +Def Ranged ANF Melee into one power, ignoring how broken that is as well. Oh, and two cones, one of them being tier 9 strength.
    Very much broken.

Tier 1 - Laser Burst: Ranged, Minor Damage, Energy/Fire, -Def
You fire a quick, triple blast from one of your gauntlet lasers. This attack does only moderate damage, but it is quick to use and will lower your foes defences slightly.

Tier 2 - Laser Blast: Ranged, High Damage, Energy/Fire
Though it takes longer to aim than a quick burst, focussing energy into a single Blast does more damage.

Tier 3 - Laser Barrage: Ranged (Cone), Moderate Damage, Energy/Fire, -Def
You open fire with both arm cannons, dousing the area in a storm of blasts. This attack does moderate damage and will lower enemies defences.

    Power Armor
    Cyborg
    Robot

If I go with any other look then the powerset becomes silly.

The weapon powersets force me to have one additional costume piece which has zero impact on the rest of my costume. I can easily design whatever costume I want and then select a weapon that matches it (yes in some cases I need to unlock the weapon first which is rather irritating but eventually I can get it).

Here it is essentially fixing three of my costume pieces (gloves, back and chest) in a way that severely limits what options I can use for the rest of my costume without it looking silly.
    Sorry, but that's hogwash.
I've seen people use multiple concepts with all the MM sets, despite the fact it only gives you one, immutable look for the pets.
I would advise making this set more like the attacks the PPD Hardsuits use, arm blasts and stuff like that, rather than stuff like 'firing your arm at the enemy' (which is also overly daft in my opinion) which, yes, does somewhat limit the concept.

But I can easily see an 'arm cannon' or 'gun rig' sort of set working in a way that allows access from multiple concepts.
  12. It's called APP/PPPs. And the system you suggest is broken in so many ways. I can see that causing absolute flame-war outrage if it was even considered for live.

Even with the Set proliferation, each AT is still unique in its own ways. That's what Inherent is for.

    Speculatory speculation is spec-
Yeah, I'm trying to stop myself too. It *would* probably be awesome. But GR is coming sooner, so...yaaah.

Which, of course, goes against them having their psychic friends network in the first place, but still.
I know, and it's one of the few things I dont like about the Rikti overhaul. Someone seems to have tried to make them a bit humerous somewhere along the line...which is kind of silly. It also goes against the canon, which is another no-no in my books.

But people would probably complain for some reason, if there were silent mobs on things like 'Destroy Rikti Weapons under X Location' and missions like that.
Personally I think it adds to the threat, them only talking to humans when they have to, and the rest of the time working in unified, unnering silence.
  15. Personally, I think all the costumes of enemy groups should be unlockable (at least the parts we can equip, since we apparently cant have back details yet, etc) via defeat badges.
Signature Hero and Villains parts I can see why we dont get, yes. But I would kill (in game) to have the Nemesis army uniform and sword belt, the Wyvern kit, the Void Hunters two-tone reaper mask, etc.

/Signed, as always for more options
  16. Armour Blast / Secondary. The same way as AR/Fire or AR/Anything, DP/Anything, Archery/Anything. It CAN work, especially if the 'weapons' were customisable the same as AR/Bow/DP etc.

Get rid of the Rayman blast (Tier 1) and, yes please. Would love some of that. /Signed

Actually, that brings up an interesting point. By all accounts, Rikti speak is only in use when talking to humans. Rikti, to one another and according to canon, dont actaully talk. They have the sort of all connecting mental network.
So it probably would not need to be all standard 'Rikti Speak', but True Rikti communication. Which'd be quite interesting.
When you think about it, there is a lot about the Rikti we dont know yet, which would tie in nicely with the point of an EAT.
That, and they have the option of being 'Hero' (Traditionalist) or 'Villain' (Restructurist/Lineage of War)

Hmm, true. But then again it risks losing the humour. I think they would allow a little human speak in, just to taunt them

Maybe you don't recall, but for the longest time the devs also said that power customization wasn't a possibility.

These suggestions are being made to show that there is interest. Coming in to say "THIS WON'T HAPPEN" is neither constructive nor helpful to the development process. Suggesting something isn't for my benefit or for yours; it's to let the devs know what players want to see. If enough people wanted to see water or elastic limbs or even Fish melee it might open up doors and suddenly become possible.
No, it wont happen because the Devs do not have the Tech for it.

No, it wont happen because the Devs do not have the TECH for it.

Seeing as you seemed more focus on ranting and raging rather than actually reading a post that explained why not, I thought it bore repeating.

The Devs KNOW that the players would LIKE Elastic limbs and water powers and a water zone. They have also said, quite emphatically, on multiple occasions, that such things will not be put in game until they can either bully the tech they have into making it look good, or getting an engine overhaul.

Now, an egine overhaul basically means re-writing the entire game. Bullying the tech into working, when they have plans as far as a I20-21 already laid out and planned?

So, please dont talk down to me and rant like an irate child. Your not the first to suggest this and, sadly, Im sure you wont be the last. But, word up, screaming and shouting wont make it happen any faster.

Because the tech they need isnt there.
    Period.
  24. I think any power that is limited to being SG only is going to be a no-no. Its a cool idea, although I have no idea about the tech behind it. But I dont see it happening, not as a Vet award.
