Gosh darn them civilians! ¬¬
This is actually a major annoyance around Galaxy girl statue, where a lot of people on Union tend to hang around and chat. Unless you are stood on the actual plinth bit, there is a very good chance of getting shunted around by civilians halfway through a sentance...small QoL thing, but irritating. -
Here's a cloth.
This is because the correct response to such an exchange will result in the screen covered in laugh spittle. -
2 purples, 2 oranges, 2 reds, 2 yellows and 2 greens.
My MA/SR had to try 4 times. Yes, he's a b*stard. If you cant get a team, no, theres no other solution. Patience is the only weapon you have. And insps -
The Chief sighed, standing up like a reverse avalanche of metal.
"SABRE team; go get," he odered, the air heating around him as his jets fired up, before launching across the room. "Wolf, Vix, try and immobilise the thing. Fox, stick to web grenades. I don't want you lighting the place up tonight."
"Gotcha Chief."
Wolf had already unslung his rifle, active camo glitching slightly at the faster movement, before taking aim at one of the Chimera's legs.
The shot was off, mostly due to the growing confusion, taking a neat sliver out of the floor. Fox managed to land his grenade roughly on target, but the advanced webbing didn't seem to work as usual when confronted by a giant, mutant, part cyborg writhing cat girl.
Vix's psionic attempts to immobilise Chimera, however, were met with much more luck, and even seemed to have the side effect of stunning the giant feline.
Then the Chief landed on the stage, crossing it in two strides.
"Pick on someone your own size," he rumbled, before smacking both fists up and under in a powerful uppercut, backed up by his intrinsic energy field.
However, whatever effect it might've had was interupted by the Chimera staggering back under an inmpressive blow to the midsection by a young female in what looked like Humanity First gear, meaning the Chief swung wide and had to take the time to correct his stance, before he himself got floored. -
Yeah, dont get rid of the sound entirely, cos it is kinda cool to have pets with actual idle animation, but NOT ever damn 5 secs, sometimes back to back, and thats just the one demon.
It can get really annoying at times, especially in the tailor or, heck, just standing around chatting. -
Quote:Sam wins the internet. You know, a couple of days ago I remembered something old that I've been meaning to share for some time now. Remember how I whined that all the facilities we use belong to Arachnos? Well, there's an old game that has sort of a parallel to this.
Remember Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver? In that game and its sequel, you play as Raziel, once a vampire now dead (about as dead can be), but who has the ability to rematerialise on the physical plane by way of portals that the Elder God provides. He can die on his own and return to the spiritual plane, but if he needs to become physical again, he needs the Elder God's portals. So, in an echo of the "Well, Arachnos can just shut down the reclimators!" this is exactly what happens in the series' third installment, Legacy of Kain: Defiance.
Having pissed off the Elder God one too many times, Raziel finds himself unable to use the portals to return to the physical plane, simply because the Elder God won't allow him. So what does he do? Well, he finds a rotting corpse, possesses that, climbs out of the ground and WILLS it into his earlier form. Take THAT, Elder God! Try and stop me from materialising now!
This brings me back to an old idea I had about reclimators, arbiters and so forth. Suppose CoV allows you to choose whether you want to be affiliated with Arachnos or not. Even on just a superficial level. If you ARE, then you resurrect at their reclimators, shop at their quartermasters, train at their arbiters, use their helicopters and so on and so forth.
Suppose you don't want to be affiliated with them, though. What then? Well, you can resurrect at the old hacked reclimator down at the hovel that the Stricken have rigged up to service their own. You need to train, you go look up one of the old masters, bedraggled old men living in quats in the ghettos, who just happen to be old, knowledgeable supers who gave up their lives of crime. You need to shop, you can always stop by the Golbricker training facility, the Hellions' warehouse or even the Lost's stockpile. Sure, you beat 'em up every day, but money is money, right? You need to travel, I guess you can use the ferry. Or, if not, then you can always catch a smuggler's boat between the islands. I mean, if heroes can do that to get to Striga, why can't villains do that to move around?
This would go a long way towards dissociating us from Arachnos, at least on the cosmetic level. And PLEASE remove that paper mission about getting brownie points with the Spiders. I want to punch whoever wrote that.
That part of Defiance was SO good. Raziel is the perfect example of giving a big, taloned flip-of-the-bird to whoever is trying to pull your strings.
"You cant do that."
"Just WATCH me!" -
Quote:Yeah...I think I broke sometime around the combo killer that was 4am, someone telling Castle how bad he was at his job and, to top it odd, someone basically trying to insult Arcana...You can tell when TA is mentally broken because he starts talking like the Rikti...
On the subject of enhanced AI, I really prefer that sort of things in very specific Story Arcs or in Task/Strike Forces. I don't want to always have to think really hard about what I'm doing every time I get in the game, but at the same time I still like that there's opportunity to be challenged if I so desire it.
I mean....Aracanaville? The devs themselves even use the phrase 'Arcanatime' for pete sake! Thats like...like...messing with someone I dont actually have a parallel for!
(And before anyone shouts fanboi/devpet, etc, make sure you read up on the ongoing rants in the art/revamp camp
fan I am, gloryboy I ain't.)

Thanks for the feedback, I'll have a little mess around with it later on =]

Bloody hells....

"Yesss...let the Rage consume you!"
It's 4:33am and I ended up reading ALL of this, you ********!!
I mean...strewth almighty on a stick...
Castle: Requires: Break from hatred
Arcanaville: Knowledge: Overwhelming
Anger: Thread levels: Rising
Exclamation: Sheesh... -

Hmm, dunno wether to be glad or worried. Is it ok and doesn't need commenting on? Or is it so bad people don't want to touch it with a barge pole?

Quote:So...the pieces we already have? Which, apart from Roman and Samurai, look kinda bleah?Reminds me of the Art Institute of Chicago

What the team should do (if the in-game pieces are constructed right) is allow us access to the armor sets used in the Midnighter Club

So, not an expert with IO slotting scrappers, and was hoping you guys could help me out a tad. This is the build I have so far, having realised that it was probably easier to aim for nearly softcapped S/L rather than Melee or anything else, due to Invincibility saying it adds defence to all when it doesnt...
Here's what I have so far. The concept is a hero in your typical, Vanguard-esque armour. I can drop out the weapons pool fairly easily if it helps stuff shunt around, I just thought it added a nice bit of flavour to the char.

Wolf scanned the assembly hall. He scanned the crowd. He scanned the cieling, the walls, the beam on which he sat, immobile, like a see through gargoyle. The redding rifle rested across his knees, in an easy position. He could go from unthreatening to armed and ready in an instant.
So he sat. He said nothing. He hardly breathed, body settling down into a steady sync of breath in, hold, breath out. His eyes flicked occasionally to his three friends in the crowd, before moving on.
He sat, and waited. -
Quote:Uhm...Sorry this thread has grown faster than I have been able to keep up. I am old I guess.
Two points I would bring up:
The Rikti aren't evil. They are acting in self-defense to provocation by powers from this world in an attack on theirs, no?
By whose defnition are the Rularuu evil? I guess my point is that alien points of view are another facet in the crazy, puppy killer faction. Is an alien desire to be dominant in the universe any more evil that human's desire to fill the vastness of space with colonies? True villains are the ones who know the societal boundaries and attempt to achieve his goals regardless of the rules or consequences.
The Lineage of War IS evil. Hro'Dtohz wants to remain in power, something he can only do by being at war with humanity. The Rikti Traditionalists want the war to end, and they ARE good. They are much more the 'learned, elder benign' aliens popular in movies.
And, uh...Rularuu doesnt want to dominate the universe. He wants to devour it. Henve 'Rularuu the Ravager'. So...yes, he really is evil. -
I admit, I would love some actual authentic looking plate mail, not the blocky nightmare we have in the form of the in-game set. Especially the helmets.

Quote:The constant quoting stops me from adding to ignore. Because it kinda defeats the point.Well ignore doesn't have to be permanent. If someone is really irritating me I ignore them. Often you see people quoting them which reinforces leaving them on ignore (they are just trolls or complete morons) or taking them off.
Sadly. -
They've been there since he was placed. Nothing new

Vix glanced around, eyeing the crowd. A very mixed bunch, here.
She herself was dressed in her Chiron Centre doctors jacket and smart clothes. There was no real mistaking of who she was and, more importantly, what it was she did.
The Chief sat beside her, on one of the somewhat reinforced chairs that had been prepared for some of the larger and weightier people that could show up. He had forgone his tactical gear in favour of his red cape, bordered by runes of the Kaarinian language, his native tongue.
Fox was sat besides, glad in his trademark orange-fade-red power armour, mechanical legs crossed idly. Aside from the replacement lower legs, he was still fully human under the armour.
Wolf was nowhere to be seen. Yet. -
This really screws over people that don't have that much to begin with.
Chalk up another 'fail' mark for the new system, methinks... -
*Tries whistling three times to summon a red name*
I really get the feeling someone should be reading this. I mean, it's normal for people to hate certain features after an issue goes live...
But it ain't normal for there to be majority agreement on suckage factor =S -
Quote:Point of order; there are no side specific badges. Posi stated that it would be a 'Nightmare' because of the anger it would cause amongst badgers, and that they dont want 'unobtainable' badges in game (like the old AE ones before they were redacted)So, take a month of time, and lose the 'true Villain' badge and perks, whatever they may be...
So there may be some extra goodies to staying true, but it wont be a one stop shop like badges. -
Even more reason to unlock the PPPs and the LRSF. Locking them is DUMB. End of.
