Quote:On the flip side, some more 'blunt' animations for Dual pistols would be cool.Of all animations, I'd like alternate animations for the blast and melee sets.
What I love about Dual Pistols versus other blast sets, is the movement. The other blast sets I feel like I'm just standing in place repeating animations with a different flash effect.
For melee, I'd love to see more martial arts style moves tacked onto fists and feet attacks.
Electric Melee for instance, Id love a Eagle's Claw or Dragon's Tail style animation for Thunderstrike.
I want a finesse versus crunch animation option.
Don't get me wrong, I love the current ones (I was glee-ing out on test when I first saw them
) but a lot of people have said 'I would play it except its too flashy' and, sometimes, to make a character, you could do without the gun twirling (Although Executioners shot should never change. Its like Chuck Norris, in gun form
)

If by Dev Diary you meant the Vidoc, then it's now linked on the updater.

Something was causing some of the possessed scientists to stir and turn, as the sound of slicing came from the back of the large mob. A pair of corpses were flung bodily skyward, already twisted in rather broken ways before they hit the ground. A line of them tried to push forward.
There was a sound like tearing silk, and a figure was suddenly the other side of the line, crouched with his left hand resting on the ground, his right holding a katana out to one side, the blade still clean. Even as he gracefully stood, the bodies behind him stumbled and fell, bodies cut clean in two at the waist.
Dusting a bit bit of non-existant dust off his the right shoulder of his crimson blazer, the figure looked up and smiled at the Nighthunters, wide enough to show sharp fangs. He tapped his glasses down, the ruby lenses revealing equally red eyes behind them.
"Quite the jam here, eh folks?" he chuckled, reversing the katana blade and ramming it through a scientists gut. Still without looking round, he uppuercut the blade, slicing clean from waist to skull in one move. "Now, far be it from me to chide, but...you're in a bit of a pickle, by the looks of it?" -
Oddly enough, I prefer the actual look of the EU updater to the US one; it's cleaner, less cluttered, I can easily tell where everything is rather than getting eyer@pe.
But, like the website, having bits of it be actually outdated really sucks. -
Quote:Didn't see anyone address this but I confirmed that the Nemesis staff is also fixed on test. It appears the patch notes left its fix off the list.At least you lot can actually still get on test to try it. The EU server is locked off to (assuming) anyone who's not in GR Closed Beta.Quote:Yea, incomplete patch notes are bit of a bad habit around here.
At least on a semi plus side you know for sure when your in, cos it wont kick you back out to login when you try and pick the server >_> -
Yeah. I noticed.
Yaaaa-F-ing-aaaay
what is with the bloody thing?

Fixed that for you.
Thanks for reminding me. Seriously, lordy oh lordy, who the heck designed the female run? Its TERRIBLE! Elbows glued to the sides, hands flapping? It look passalbe from side on, but stuck behind or in front of it it looks shocking. Id be a huge advocate of having this changed for something a bit better. -
Protean = Tough but fun challenge
Reichsman = Tough sack of HP who challenges your patience, not your skill -
I think I'm with Chaos on this one. Though the set itself is quite a cool idea, I think it would please more people and have a LOT of concepts open up if we got wand animations that could be used with regular blast (and other) sets.
The set is pretty cool, though =] -

Quote:Personally, I like it. Back when they introduced the NoFX effects to things like Invul, I was overjoyed. Part of my dislike, especially on regens intergration, is actually the sound FX (SFX).Some silly hand movement, I'm sure.
I don't get why we need animations for the defensive toggles at all. Superman doesn't stand around flexing for two minutes before he takes a bus to the head. Does he? I hope not.
Huh. Some people like the flexing?
Since they think I'm not helping how about this: alternate animation that lets me remove the starting animation for defensive toggles. That suits my characters best, most of the time. -

Quote:Given we'll never get a Fencing/Rapier set, I'd love more animations that were for lighter weapons.I'd like to see a more 'elegant' alternate style for Broadsword - the big choppy animations are fine for stronger characters and the big meaty swords, but if I'm using something like the Chinese Jian then I think some spins, ripostes and thrusts would look great.
(p.s. can we have more swords like the Jian? Everything else is wayyyy too chunky for my tastes
)
Anyone remember this guy from Soul Calibur 2?

Quote:Tried to get my brain around that one with a decent response. Failed. /facedeskIt actually is for a good reason. The combat stance has the left foot forward, so the animations didn't work for right handed attacks, because it meant having to change the basic combat stance animation to a right foot forward stance instead. That was too much work for just one powerset.

Just make them like the AE ticket trader for enhacements. Because I know I for one find the current store layouts extremely cluttered and not having a 'hover over' option is really irritating.

My brain is still reeling from being rudely woken by...well, itself at 8:30 in the morning, so I only have one at the forefront right now;
New female sit emotes.
FIVE of them are exactly the god damned same! It's really, really annoying.
Oh, heres another one for the 'alternate animations'; two handed animations for swords, axes and maces. Along with right handed and single handed options for Katana. Katana has always bugged me in that its the ONLY set in the game which is left handed. For no good reason. Its really wierd.
Thats all for now. Brain-dump will resume when I dont have to syphon power into 'willtolive.exe' -
Quote:As I stated later on, its incredibly counter intuitive when the Mission objective says 'Clear out' the room. Most missions these days are much better worded (most, but not all)FWIW: It's not a defeat-all. I don't recall whether defeating the Rikti around the shield generators is required (maybe, maybe not; don't remember, but it's probably a good idea anyway), and defeating the Hydra Head without defeating the tentacles is impractical to say the least, but it's not a defeat all.
And I only recall 2 Krakens in the basin when I ran it last, so I suspect their location is random. And I know you don't need to defeat them, because we skipped most of the Krakens in the catwalks.
I don't think the level difference, Krakens, or the timer are what really makes this trial difficult (or at least, not when I've run it). It's how the Hydra itself hits like a mac truck loaded with nitroglycerin. Psychic nitroglycerin.
As for the Krakens, they are a problem when they spawn in the basin, due to very limited room to maneuver. And yes, as if all the tentacles weren't bad enough (the ones that respawn really damn fast as soon as they die) Hydra itself is dag nasty.
My suggestion for the basin;
Make it so that the generators, once dead, stay dead UNTIL a certain point of Hydras health. Then they respawn, with a 'repair team' if necessary. That negates the horrible 'simul-click' feel of that part of the Trial, and at least gives smaller teams a much better shot at it than they do now, where simul-kill is nigh impossible. -

Quote:Im confused...are you saying Origin SHOULD mean something, or SHOULDNT?Origin means nothing, lets rip em out or make them mean something.
The only thing Origin does now is make it so you can't use some of the drops you get.
--edit--
Also, that kind of logic means nothing should ever be built on or added to or spiced up.
Blasters couldn't use psychic attacks before issue 12 everyone who rolled blaster before then was robbed!
People who didn't choose natural before Issue 7 were denied there rightful throwing knives.
The game played fine without IOs, Dual Builds, and Customization we should have left that alone as well!
MMOs either grow and evolve or they die.
Just ask the elephant who is about to redo its core rules and have a major expansion, it's not doing it because it has dwindling numbers or is flat lining it's doing it to stay competitive and keep people coming back for more.
As far as Im concerned, Origin should just be left as it is. Changing it would break a LOT of stuff that really doesnt need breaking, thanks all the same.
