Quote:Ooo, they kept that bit quietI believe that Marvel was willing to settle the suit because when they created Wolverine in the costume creator and logged into the game, they agreed to the EULA which then gave NCSoft the rights to Wolverine. NCSoft probably pointed this out to Marvel and said, "Look, if you drop your lawsuit, we'll agree to police our game to remove copy characters. If you don't drop your suit, we'll pursue our claim on Wolverine...because you guys essentially gave him to us."
Should read the EULA, Marvel! Ha!
I think that made my day. -
I didn't read anything condescending into it. You should take care of your art, especially if it's happened before. Yes, it's still a horrible thing to happen to an artist, but a lot of care should be taken at public events.

-where someone watched him leave.
"He's going to get himself killed, one of these days."
"You don't sound particularly concerned..."
"One of these days. Someday when people like me, who are too kind, aren't there to keep an eye on him."
"Ah. I was wondering..."
"Set a watch on the kid, and make sure we've got a teleport uplink set up. Oh, and make sure I can comminucate with him if needs be. If this place gets hit, maybe it's time the kid learned to use some of the really big toys we got around here."
"You know that's probably a bad idea, right?"
"Yup. And I'm doing it anyway."
"Sounds like a plan." -
Quote:No you can't. Reason being VEATs get certain unique powers that only they have, not the Arachnos NPCs. That, and I don't want to just use re-coloured Crab Spiders, for example. Or what if I want to have Fortunatas without helmets? etc etcAdmittingly, I just want PB and WS powers. Don't need Soldiers and Widows. Can use standard NPC's for that.

Massive ammonts of envy... Saw one of the pieces on DA, Eddy (the last one) but the other two are fantastic.

Can't please everyone...
I loved it. It was a refreshing break from the big budget "Look, shinies!!" movies with a half-arsed plot. Or a remake. Or an adaption. Things that horribly brutalise the original material in ways that shouldnt actually be possible unless your trying (looking at you, Bay...)
It was original. Even if some people didn't like it, it made the effort. And, for me at least and some others it seems, that effort paid off.
Need to remember to look for it in HMV next time im there. Got a memory like a sieve when it comes to shopping... -
Cyber-Psi-weasels have already been dispatched to correct your errant thought patterns, GG. The world does not have a place for such misplaced behaviour as yours.

Addendum; Sparky will also be hating herself for not having the guts to wear a dress to the night
-
Trying a base raid style thing without a base will be....ambitious. To say the very least.
However, the one point I will stick to is; ask the permission of ALL the characters players you are going to/planning on using first. Without fail.
As for the rest of it, meh, I'm undecided so far. -
Luminescent Spark: Sparky will be busy freaking out at the party being this darn cool, generally trying to get to know people while being immensely shy at the same time. Yes, that is as awkward as it sounds.
She'll be wearing an absolutely stunning blue dress...in her dreams. What she's actually wearing is a very smart trouser-shirt-waistcoat combo with her glasses as usual. She's way too self-conscious to wear a dress. In deference, the wasitcoat is blue.

Quote:....This is an interesting solution that I never really entertained.A while back I tried to come up with a Rikti EAT (or VEAT) and while I never posted it, I did put some thought into the subject of Armor vs. Ranged Damage came up and the resulting accusations of TankMagery.
The compromise that I came up with?
Armed with a Rikti Sword and Energy Blaster, and Armored (depending on what branch they took (Soldier, Communications, Mentalist, Guardian))
The sword attacks would do Lethal, the Blasting attackswould be energy and the Armor toggles would have to have a self-debuff to outgoing Energy Damage.
The explanation? Thier powersuit had to balance it's power output it's power between the weapon systems and the defensive screens. Want to do full damage at range? Drop your toggles. Want medium ranged damage, full melee damage and full defenses? Keep the toggles up.
However, the problem I do see is that Arachnos EATs, for one, don't have to make any sacrifice to do full damage, and STILL get very tough defences. I mean, Crab Spiders especially are effectively Range/Armour, given you can skip on the melee attacks they have (Same with HEATs, who have more powers in Primary and Secondary)
Given a chunk of VEAT mitigation is in Defences, Rikti would arguably have to have higher resistances to make up for lack of defences. I know that I've not seen any Rikti with defences...except for Guardian shields and those !!!!! Drones... -
No. Brillig's username on the forums here
hence me posting after him

Twas Brillig, and the slithy toves did gire and gimble-
DAMNIT! Can't get that outta my head now! >_< -
Oh gods, what I wouldnt give for that technology to be extended to the ignore list. Make it so that ignored players simply don't count as existing for people who ignore them, so that even if someones bugging you by shoving you all over with whirlwind (Union Xmas event in Ds....sonuva-), if you ignore them they just cease to exist.

I will continually back a Ranged/Armour or Assault/Armour AT as long as we lack them. Its a major hole in the concept blanket that, for the most part, CityOf is very good at providing.
Dual Pistols/Super Reflexes, for one. Sword+Pistol/---, Fire Blast/Fire Armour, Energy Blast/Invul.
Heck, if it was an Assault/Armour then we could finally get the PPD Hardsuits made into costumes for use, with chaingun arm mounts and the back mounted heavy lasers. I would kill for those powers.
And the current EATs have SHOWN that such an AT can be balanced. I don't nor ever will buy the BS that such an AT would instantly be 'zomfgtankmage!' Because given the Dev team and number crunchers around here, it wouldnt. By any means. -
I was worried about this one.
And now I ain't.
"Oh no....this is Earth, isn't it?" Heh, yup, you poor, poor guy XD

Ahh, Thorn wielders. Theres a poor schmuck group who got stuck in the wrong level bracket...

*Goes and sits in the corner with Envy* >_< -
Critical...misses..? Eh? Never seen them before.
As for the 5% chance to miss even when at major Acc level... I guess it's needed for balance. And it also represents the enemies flailing madly trying to fend of being smushed into little squibbly heaps. Which is fair.
I'd still love some attacks, like Assassins Strike and Sniper rifle to ignore that 5% chance, though. So you can have 'Aimed' attacks that CAN have 100% chance of hitting. I know that'd make Snipe a bit more popular than it is at the moment (I still take it, mind, but it seems to get a lot of hate in the Powers forums) -
Hmn.....I....fail to a see a problem, really. Why not? *shrug*
