Well, it helps to have the build played by Iggy. I think the answer is more towards any brute as long as you are looking at IOs and Incarnate options. If a /fire brute being the squishiest can pull of soloing TFs, then I think any other secondary works as well.

Yes to both because you have to look at the game 1-50. RI will get used little later on due the the speed of the teams and it's animation, but I find EF pretty much always useful.

Quote:If the farm is using a bug to get an unfair advantage, then yes. There is nothing about the ambush fire farms that fall under being classified as using a bug.you can report farms and get them shut down, right? or has that fallen by the wayside?
Hall of Fame is merely high rating + number of votes. -

Considering I have to start 90 some perfect of the teams I get on outside of trials, I don't think getting on teams is the issue. Traps, if it has an issue, is that it benefits from more set up time and a large number of teams aren't willing to do that these days. It will be difficult to max out Traps on a speed team. RI from Rad has this issue as well due to it's animation time.

Quote:It's putting the comic into animated form even if it's a motion version of it. Sometimes the animation works, sometimes, not so much. LinkActually, I've never heard of "Astonishing X-Men". When was that made?

Once you softcap a /sd, the utility of Parry goes away.

I have already agreed that /wp stole /regen's thunder. I'm just pointing out that if one was willing to roll a /regen, then SS works will with it. If you are looking for a SS brute, then I would look elsewhere than /regen and /wp, ie /fire and /elec.

Take Kat and BS, but sub out DA and Parry for more offense. You, generally speaking, now have Mace and Axe. They don't get the -def debuff, so you can't slot the -res proc.

Quote:Thunderous ClapBuff or Debuff powers work better for defenders, but any power that is not a buff of debuff is fair game. Consider storm for example. Thunderous clap, Tornado's damage, Lightning storms damage, Gale, the slow from snowstorm, and the knockdown and slows from freezing rain all work equally if not better for controllers IIRC.
Controller: 18.625s Stun
Defender: 14.9s Stun
Tornado
Same
Lightning Storm
Controller: 40.04 Energy damage
Defender: 44.49 Energy damage
Gale
Controller: 3.06 damage. Also gets containment damage.
Defender: 3.62 damage
Snow Storm
Same. Slows were made the same ages ago after raising the issue of slows being a debuff(-speed) as well as a control.
Freezing Rain
Too many to list, but defenders win in a landslide. Just about every debuff, and there is a number of them, favor defenders. At worst, they are the same. -
One nice thing about Mace coming over is I can do Mace/sd instead of BS/sd and not having to deal with the longer recharges of BS. I really do want to like BS, but it's just so freaking slow until you get higher up.

Quote:Something else to consider, SS/regen. /regen covers the Rage crash with QR and no def. FS helps with mitigation that /regen loves. Both sets love recharge. FS gets to slot the +recharge proc....
I had not even considered this combination until you mentioned it.
...
I must consider this closely. I may be rerolling my Stone/WP brute as a Stone/Regen brute... -

If it's stays with it's current limitation of where it can be used, it will remain at the same strength. If you move it to being an ally buff, I wouldn't be surprised if it's numbers got altered.

Astonishing X-Men is on instant even though it's a motion animated movie. There's a number of DC animated movies as well.
-
It won't have it. There was no mention of Life Drain being changed so you have one attack/heal power. I could maybe see Siphon Life since it's an attack/heal as well, but there's simply no way DR gets in.
-
I'll just add something like Stone/regen should be good. Fault gives you much needed mitigation and time to use a click power if need be.

Quote:Bah. I read what was changing and still somehow thought T.T. and Nightfall were being merged. I think I'm going to be saddened in how Dark Blast will be for corrs and defenders now, but it will be a wait and see. T.T. offers no way to counter KB.Torrent was an aoe like Gale is an aoe (OK, not quite, but the damage was still horrible - ~1/3 of Nightfall's) so... not much of a loss IMHO. As far as damage goes. They haven't said whether the merged power has KB or not so there might not even be a control loss.

I have yet to play an EA, but I was scanning the set last week and went, "Why didn't they just add an Energize type power in there?" Definitely a set worth looking into now.
