Quote:On the flipside of that, I'd love to see an option in future for 'Default' colours for certain pieces, like the Resistance armour. An option that makes it look just like the NPC version, uneditable but an exact replica. I hate not being able to colour match stuff D=I still frequently use the legacy belts because you can select the colour on the legacy "leather" belt, while the newer version is stuck as only black. Keeping in mind that this is a giant failing of design and a promise to not do stuff like this in the future (our colour options are an absolute must have, and any piece with flat, static colours needs to be revised (PPD pieces, I'm looking at you!)), I'll vote Option 1.
If you cannot stop from making flat, unchangeable colours on these textures, then you have to go with Option 2. -

Quote:Except they aren't unique to her. She's just a recolour of some of the Imperial Army attack clockwork, afaik.Resistance weapons will probably be unlockables at some point.
I highly doubt we'll ever get Nightstar's blades, since she is one of the signature characters, and we've never gotten any other signature character's unique pieces.
Not that I have anything against it personally, I just don't think we'll get them.
So...no good reason why not

Quote:Given as far as most normal people go, Malta is little more than rumour. That and...y'know, a villain group?Yeah sorry I've taken so long before posting. Been real busy basically. It's probably best that it be you to offer out these clues OOC anyway, being the subplot's GM. I was only going to carry it out ICly. Question; is the Kronos Titan -confirmed- stolen, by Police or Government agents? I would imagine Malta dodging any contact with Law Enforcement and thus not cooperating with their investigation and instead carrying out their own. So are they too looking for the thief?
Of course they'd dodge law enforcement and have naff all to do with investigations, bar there own. -
What Z said, really.
For example, my main Alpha has Positron in his backstory...in as much as Posi was the one who first sent him to the Zig when he started out.
And that tied in nicely when I did Kuh'Rekt's missions, and handed Posi his own and Valkyrie's backsides.
The closest I've come to a Canon character was with my Crab Spider, Krimzon Commander. As a regimental commander and an Arbiter for a fairly brief stint, there was some written interaction between Krimzon and Recluse. I ended up writing for Recluse very similar to Vetinari from Terry Pratchetts discworld. To still be ruler of the Rogue Isles after so long requires quite a large dash of Machievelli style thought, in my opinion.
However, all of that was very self contained, and I've never had characters that are in any way related to NPCs. -
Quote:Thanks Michelle, that made me lolYes, Blue's fics are quite the bomb.
(That's a compliment, btw, in case local slang translates that wrong.)
Can you imagine your character being related to, say, Captain Castillo? Or Vernon von Grun? Fusionette?
"Hi, I'm Fusionette's cousin- wait, don't run away! I don't even have energy powers, and I actually PASSED my SATs! Darn it... no one ever wants to team with me."
Better yet, make a totally midget sized female character and relate her to Doc Delilah.
"Yeah... she's my aunt. I think she got all the growth genes for her generation and mine. It's a thing. If I could reinforce her hat, I'd carry it as a shield."

Quote:And the Heavy Barrel cannon.Just that simple.
I want the resistance pistols for my dual pistols. Also resistance riffle.
And having the Nightstar blades for claws would be just awesome.
Although Nightstars blades are actually for dual blades. But meh, why not give 'em to both sets? Win/win

Amen. Wish there was a third option. So, General Stance, Active Order, Passive Order.
For example;
Stance: Defensive
Active Order: Attack my Target
Passive Order: Immobilise at this position
So your pet would attack your current target until it was dead, and then, if you were not being attacked, do nothing. While remaining at the location. If you got attacked, it would respond due to Defensive stance.
So, the default at the moment would become;
Stance: Defensive
Active Order: None
Passive Order: Follow -
It wouldn't work with Miss Liberty.
There's a stick in the way

Quote:Pfffft! Cry me a river. Try living in the UK. Or, rather, England.I just find it sad that a country like America is losing its roots. You know what i mean.. just list the super heroes from America. People are getting more into the Japanese culture which isn't a bad thing of course, but it can be because when the Japanese experience the American culture in say 50 years from now.. comic books could be completely gone from shops or production.
National identity? Isn't that one of them new fangled government ID card schemes?

Quote:Ichigo from Bleach. I don't read it, still know of it.
I have not heard of one iconic character from Anime, the only thing i have heard about is Naruto and i really do not like that. Everyone has heard of Spider Man and Bat Man. Yet it is these characters who lose their origin within comic books.

Edward and Alphonse Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist, a very good manga and anime series that I have yet to finish but really, really like. It's also a lot better than a good many western comics, IMO

Alucard and Seras from Hellsing. Hell, Alucard pretty much wrote the book on badass vampires. Probably in blood.

And I've only read and watched the last two. So theres 3 more for ya. -
Quote:Violate...what? A body like a dress makers maniquin with no detail at all?I would support this. In fact, I'd say that a lot of the "tight" legacy pieces could be ported into a menu called "body paint" and left basically as-is.
Assuming that having a bunch of painted toons running around wouldn't violate the whole "T for Teen" thing, of course.
Will someone think of the children?!

Quote:I think the only 'rule' I'd advise is with the metal costume options. A 'matte' and 'shiny' sub-option for them would be good, because not all metal is shiny. This perfectly sums up why I'd be in favor of legacy updates. You guys are providing lots of great edge cases to consider--keep 'em coming. We want to be extremely cautious when touching old stuff, and to make sure that everyone walks away happy.
Either way, let it be known that you rock as Lead Art Dev, David.
Ya got any need for an intern?

Quote:Bres, from the Tuatha. Summons a god-damned animated stone, a very tough to kill pet. And 1) it gives no XP and 2) it doesn't die when the summoner does.I thought this over pretty hard. The Vanguard rebels are tough. Knives of Artemis are annoying. Carnie Master Illusionists can be frustrating. Sappers are usually first priority in the kill-list. However, all of these are nothing compared to:
Anything that summons a pet that I get no XP for.
The summoned thing usually has more HP than the summoner, and I get NOTHING for my trouble. I've never raged on anything more than this.

And now I start to see why people roll their (metaphorical) eyes when GG comes up. Because of stuff like this.
I'm out too. I'll still be in the OS thread and plot, because that is cool and fun. Will also be in in-game RP, dealing with it as it comes up and not putting anyone on ignore, because in my opinion it's silly, petty and counterproductive. Make of that what you will.
But this circle-of-blame isn't fun. So I'm off. -
Vahzilok are lethal. Toxic damage and stacked -speed is solo death.
Tsoo Sorcerors. *shudder*
CoT during the 'Ghost' level range. Which is before SOs and so means you are in for utter pain and frustration. And Ruin mages...
My most hated group, though?
Knives of Artemis on a melee character.
FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUU- CALTROPS!!

Clockwork sounds; love 'em. I would kill to be able to give some of my chars the Clockwok movement sounds.
Background music being inconsistant; sad. Theres some really awesome bits of music in the game; some Arachnos bases, the awesome rock part around the Rikti Mothership, certain areas in zones which have their own unique music that makes me stop and listen. Wish we had more and some consistancy.
Peacebringer WhiiiiIIIIIInnnne. My own pet peeve. I seem unable to do the trick that silences sound, so Im stuck having to turn my volume down whenever I play mine becase that accursed, god damned bloody whiiiiiine plays after every freaking attack and click. Every time! It's not needed! And certainly not at a pitch that causes migraine! Seriously...
Only other sets I have problems with? I think its the Ice or Storm toggle where the sound loops with a constant fake 'bitter wind' sound. Majorly irritating.
And Demons. God, seriously, it was cool the first time, ok the second and aedahrbamjfhnskjgabggvbhjkl;12345679=-[f the next times. Just. Get. Rid of it! Or make it quieter! Or less bloody obnoxious! Sheesh... -
I started with mostly rolling guys, and then there was a recent avalanche of concepts that just worked with female chars.
Rolling a few more guys again now, though. It honestly comes down to which suits the concept best
And nothing to do with females and spandex. Nope. Especially not Widows >_> *cough*

Rifle Butt and LRM on an MM?
WANT! NOW!
Both of those would suit Alpha so well. He's just the sort to beat someone up with his gun, simply because he could....then rocket them in the face to add further injury to injury. And probably insults too

Quote:Problem with that is, David, the same was said about removing 'unused' Patron Power Pools a few issues back.Anything's possible with enough dev time allocated, but my gut feeling is that almost everyone would prefer the look of 'new tights' and that 'classic tights' would gather dust. The goal would be to polish up the assets you already know and love, so they essentially look the same...but better.
Also, I still feel that this introduces unnecessary clutter into the system, reduces new user-friendliness, and ultimately hurts the game experience.
Remember the unholy stink that one caused?
Thing is, when it comes to, say, shiny veruss non-shiny...there will be some players and some characters in fact that prefer non-shiny stuff. Say you have a stealth-armour ninja type. Why would he wear shiny armour? Thats a big no-no, cos shine is bad.
Or a big, battle-worn robot? Shiny doesn't last long in war-zone before it becomes, to use an MIB quote, 'old busted hotness'.
In all seriousness, the CC needs a sort out anyway. The Chest details list alone is stupidly long. What it could really do with is a second drop down menu;
-Chest details
____-Solid details (Chest plates, stealth webbing, anything physical)
____- Flat details (All the symbols and images that are used as chest details)
OR...Option 3; Re-texture all the old stuff, but give metallic things a 'shiny' and 'non-shiny' option. I think that's the only one I can see being a real problem, because I know for example the Tech Sleek pieces looked a whole world different from the old tech sleek, and sometimes it just doesn't work. Or maybe a 'matte' option.
I'm undecided. Both sound good. But so long as the new shiny is happening, I don't really mind. Although please, please, please go over the hair options for both make and female; the old ones look so horribly dated it's painful. -
[QUOTE=Thunderrar;3189347]Quote:No, not really. Your getting confused. Heres a slightly simplified version;
Some people will avoid RPing with you (generic "you") because they think your plots and characters are lame. Others will avoid RPing with you because they find your plots and characters offensive. Others will avoid RPing with you because they think you have failed to grasp some fundamental aspect of roleplaying in a shared world. But there will be others who don't believe any of those things, and will be happy to get involved.

So.... by that account I have failed to grasp some fundamental aspect of roleplaying?
Just because i don't take offence at CB's plots...
Edit: Also turns out i cant quote worth a damn...
You and those of us in the OS threads are in the final group; we don't mind and just carry on. The original death toll pushed me into the 'thinking he'd missed a fundamental aspect', and now that is fixed, I return to being happy to just carry on.Quote:

Seriouly, though, why all the pointing fingers and suchnot? Is there stuff going on behind the scenes I'm just not aware of? =S -
