it still means it's going to fire off far more often than not when you hit the power. Which is way more than it tends to go off now.

Lil hypothetical.
Let's say the Devs give you 3 things to place in the game. A story arc, a zone, and a taskforce. Can be anything, so don't worry much about specific content.
The main question is: Where would you put each of these? They can be blueside/redside/goldside, co-op, or even one for each (blue/red). But what level range would you add these to? -
ya well they've been kicking out issues at a pretty steady rate since Freedom. about 3-5 months depending. Since last September we've had 21, 21.5 (november?), 22(early March), 23(Late May). So beta is likely to go soon with probably a late september/early october live date. Just a guess though.

Quote:Then use alt builds instead of full respecs.Because of the number of level 50 toons I have it become a real pain in the back side to respec them the way the system is now. If I could just move slots from one power to another or respec one or two powers, then I might not be sweating it.
But if they make Trip mine more interesting in the ways others and myself have requested in the past it will be tough not to pick it up. I like the new shiny sometimes. And I admitting jumped the gun on a few respecs in anticipation of i24.
I just hate respecing that much. -
"You know what they say about big hands" "Fingerless gloves?" "....yes."

They came up with a rough outline for Rad Armor at the player summit but I know from the coffee talks some of it has changed up. For instance there was a self rez that doubled as a nuke, basically if you were dead it was a rez, if you were alive it was an EMP style nuke. But apparently it may be scrapped because they couldn't get it to work right (though they also said they may have fixed the problem, so it might come back).
So yeah, nothing super concrete, but it's in development. -
Mmm, yeah I'll have to agree for Dark Astoria.
It's long. This is good since it's intended to be repeated. Lots of well done arcs with lots of variety.
Loads of flavor. Thief of midnight? The midnighters recognize you. First Ward veteran? Diabolique remembers you. Great story developments for a number of characters and plots and pushing the game world's story forward.
Epic. Totally epic.
Perfect atmosphere. It's really mostly just Dark Astoria as we knew it with a shiny new graveyard and some cleaned up set pieces, but it's -gorgeous-. From the constant night, the spooky music, the red war walls, the streets devoid of friendly life and teeming with all kinds of monsters and villains duking it out to the grotesque corruption of Moth Graveyard. It's honestly a favorite zone to just street sweep in and check out every nook and cranny.
Fun repeatables. Honestly all the repeatable missions lately have been pretty well done, with First Ward, Night Ward, and Dark Astoria. I like the contacts and most of the missions they offer are at least interesting (save for the Wards slight habit of hunt missions). So important for DA though being 'end game' content.
I'll be honest, I wasn't that thrilled with the end game until DA came along simply because 95% of it was wrapped up in team content. I've nothing against most of the end game taskforces (Screw Reichsman though) or any of the iTrials but it can be very boom or bust on a server like Victory so it was -very- nice to have something I could just do on my own time -whenever-. If things are slow i can always just go hunt threads or ouro arcs. -
I like to hoverblast, but yeah, also a good combo. Cloaking device is faboo and turning it into Field Operative just makes it even better.

Cloaking Device + stealth unique in hover =__________________
I have known scholars and shamen. I have seen holymen and madmen. I've conversed with sages and sinners. I've met heroes and villains. And in the end, I wonder, which am I? -
Yeah there's very few 'bad' choices, just go for what you feel boosts you the most or works best with your playstyle.
And the wonderful thing is: if you're not happy with your choice, you can just build up other options and switch out. -
For the most part, go with whatever sounds good to you.
Interface - Reactive is the MOAR DAMAGE one and most common. But they all have some kind of damage proc and a secondary effect, so go with whatever you feel is the most useful.
Judgement - They're all good. Void is probably best for Melee range as the only PBAoE.
Lore - Cimerorans do lots of damage. Longbow do -regen. For the most part, pick your fav of the bunch. Most of them hit like trucks regardless.
Destiny - Ageless or Rebirth is probably going to be what you want.
Hybrid - Assault. -

Quote:"They are IOs, but they're attuned, so anyone can use them". Not that much harder to say or explain. Most discussions I've seen on the subject tend to agree that enhancements purchased from the market are also not IOs, because again, they are not created via the invention system and are usable without an invention license.
Saying they're IOs tends to be more confusing/misleading than saying they aren't, IMO. The problem is that they share several important traits with IOs - set bonuses, multi-aspect enhancements, and the sets from the Paragon Market are the same sets that you can craft of course. But they also DON'T share several other important traits with IOs - they're not crafted, they don't require invention access to use. So it's easy to go either way, but I think "they are not IOs, although they bear many similarities" is easier/clearer to explain than "they are IOs, but they are different than everything we call IOs".
That's all you need to tell anyone. if it's attuned, you can use it. That's all. No need to worry about anything else. No other detail is important. -
No but normal invention enhancements -can- be and they're attuned enhancements exactly like ATOs (which CAN be purchased at random via superpack) and overwhelming force.
All of them (Market bought IOs, ATOs, OF) are invention enhancements as far as the game is concerned, except they're attuned. And if it's attuned, it's usable by freemies. -
Quote:They do if you buy them from the Store.Do they follow the rule of being usable without invention access, though? If they're not created through the invention system, and can be used even on accounts that can't use inventions, it seems reasonable to say they aren't inventions, or at least are not like any other inventions, regardless of what the reward window text says.
-
Quote:They follow all the normal rules of Invention Origin enhancements, except they scale with level. The devs are misnaming it - it's an attuned enhancement set. It's not an invention because free players cannot use inventions - but they can use attuned enhancements, which is what Overwhelming Force is.
They're still inventions. You're just not the one inventing them. And the devs invent things better than we do. -
Yeah attuned IOs are for freemies. In overwhelming force's case, it's because it's being offered through the summer event. For ATOs, freemies can purchase super packs. (Or if they happen to have Reward Merits unlocked and can buy them in-game).

That's because fall damage is untyped. They actually discussed it in a Coffee Talk. Phantom Army is immune to all types of damage. If it hurts them then it is untyped. Like Hami

Yeah the prevailing counter opinion seems to simply be "it's not enough" or "Most of these changes benefit non-Blasters more".

-
Because the fun stops when they hop off their easy ride and suddenly have this whole other game to play that they have no idea how to handle. Easily leads to burn outs or altered expectations because most of the game is -not- like DFB. Even the DiB is far more toned down from it.

An Illusion/Rad controller is a great solo experience. Lots of power, lots of tricks, especially at the high end where you've got your whole tool box. It's very versatile and very safe.
