  1. So far things die so fast on my teams that I tend to use Disruption arrow and Acid arrow first, to help the team most. Then I queue up rain and hit explosive while rain is firing.
  2. Yeah, turns out I can squeeze almost 2% more ranged def out of changed to the fighting pool instead of leadership (well I still take assault later) AND it winds up using less endurance. Won't really be in the thick of things on a team to make maneuvers useful to anyone else anyway, and once you approach softcap every last percent makes a huge difference.
  3. Your links were not clickable, by the way.

Hover is actually not as tiny as you'd think. I was surprised by this recently, because I expected it to be miniscule like Combat Jumping is. In fact, CJ nice and tiny at 0.065/s but Hover is 0.195/s quite a bit more than double.
It's true though that when I focused on def I completely sacrificed decent rech. The way I see it though, Rain of Arrows is up so fast by default I don't think I'll feel too slow. Only time (and a lot of inf) will tell once my build is done.
  4. Interesting build. For the sake of sharing, this is my ar/ta corr which I have developed a real affection for recently (read: since I got rain of arrows). She is now 35 and already plays like a powerhouse of damage. Unlike you, I decided to focus exclusively on ranged defence because she's a fly/hover user and will be quite mobile. Your endurance consumption seems a bit high for a char that will probably be spamming stuff nonstop. Or maybe I'm just paranoid about end use.

Incinerate is ok since most of the time, spawns don't survive that attack . The fear from fire attacks, even though the spawn is slowed by static field, causes too much scatter. Fire is good damage though.
Yeah, on teams it makes for an okay combo but you definitely have a much rougher time soloing since your main mitigation is no longer the sleep but knockdown and enddrain, if you decide to use your aoes.
  6. As a followup, now that the char is in the late 40s I can say that calling it a glass cannon was no lie at all. It is very fragile, and surprisingly not as endurance-friendly as you'd think. I think a lot of it has to do with how your playstyle works though.
In hindsight, I would softcap def rather than worry about permadom, as you spend so much time in the middle of mobs with tons of aggro.

heh effective rebuttal, but what a typically dick move.

    A god with a gun

Natural Origin. You are in absolute peak human physical conditioning.
Even so, you have inherent limitations, some physical and some psychological.
When you encounter the Incarnate force, it permeates every part of your body, mind, and soul at a subatomic level...removing your limitations, smoothing over your psychological issues, releasing your perfect self.
You're you. You're Natural. You're just an absolutely perfect You.
You could have reached that point on your own, given enough time.
The Incarnate force just showed you the way.
  9. I've been here since almost the very beginning, though certainly not active on the forums. I'm not an especially social person, so I've got a few people I game with and the rest of the time I either solo or PuG. Sometimes I wander off and try a new game for awhile, but I always keep my sub going because I know that I can always come back and smash some bad guys for whatever small amount of time I have available. This game is very solo-friendly and very time-friendly. If all I wanna do is a quick nazi beatdown for 20mins, I can do it here.
No matter what else I try, I always find myself coming back to this game.
    It never disappoints.
  10. I logged for a break just a moment ago after some rikti invasion fun, and the pre-load started up for me. It's still going now, significant size. Really starting to think I19 will skip beta and just get released right after the invasion.
  11. I don't really understand all the Energy Aura hate.
Sure, the stealth toggle is really stupid especially on a brute, but that aside it's really not hard to make a really solid brute with it. One of my favorite chars is my SS/EA brute, and while it was a bit squishy to start so are many other sets. With IOs it's hard to make a brute that doesn't perform extremely well. Certainly some sets make it easier than others.

Even so, making EA out to be some sort of ubergimp is just plain wrong.

    Unplayable

Been playing for years with few problems if ever. Heard a lot of people complain about crippling lag and mapserves recently, but it hadn't hit me much at all. Then sometime last week I started getting spikes of lost/retransmitted packets a minute or two after zoning...every time. Long stretches of 1-2 inches of red+yellow spikes on netgraph. Definitely not my connection, as everything else is completely fine and everything has been rebooted and re-checked multiple times.
Tonight I poked around the forums to see if there were any solutions, as it hit particularly hard tonight making the game totally unplayable. Saw someone mention /neterrorcorrection command and decided to try that. Did not really do much of anything, so shut it off.

Now, however, I can no longer even log into the game.
Well, untrue...I can log into the game just fine but I mapserve *immediately* and get dropped from the server. Tried at least two Guardian and Virtue. Both same result: mapserve and drop from server as soon as I log in. What can I possibly do now?

Edit: For the sake of completion, I tried one of my chars on one of the least-populated servers (literal ghost-town) Infinity. I was able to log in just fine albeit with a stretch of red+yellow at login.
Editx2: Been on Infinity with netgraph up for a few minutes now, nothing but a nice field of green. High-pop servers are just not standing up to the stress it seems. I am geographically quite far away, and I have to wonder if maybe those of us not in the USA are suffering due to the latency involved...the servers are not coping and just dropping those of us who aren't quick to respond.

  14. Just for the sake of participating and comparing alternative builds, here is my aoe-heavy glass-cannon elec/fire dom build with perma-hasten. Not the cheapest thing in the world, but doable, and nothing beats a good chaotic glass cannon for fun.

  15. It's an early time, maintenance. Probably only the tech people are actually up.
So getting an official who can post on the boards means getting ahold of someone who is probably not at work at the moment.
    It happens.
  16. The servers are still down.
For some reason they didn't come up after the allotted maintenance time.
  17. Yosomono

    Maintenance.

Servers are definitely still down. No word on why.
    Very uncharacteristic silence today.

Regen is only .6 lower than yours but I freed up powers so you actually have a travel power as well as increasing your defense, to hit, and run speed. Accuracy & damage bonuses are slightly lower, but then again, you won't be getting hit as much and attacking slightly faster.

The only thing I sacrificed was Repulsing Torrent. Not a big fan of it and I threw in Conserve Power for those extended AV fights or end draining mobs (Clockwork, Malta Sappers, etc). It should be easy enough to switch Repulsing Torrent back in & Conserve Power out and pull slots from CJ and Tough to 4 slot RT if you really want it back.

Enjoy my "cheap" build of my ow KM/SR.
That is a very sweet build. I had something similar but not nearly as slick as this, so I've modified yours slightly to use with my plan. If this is your "cheap" build, I assume you have an expensive one you're actually using? I wouldn't mind seeing that one either...

that small of a decrease with an even easier recharge requirement, and well, FB is just fun imo...

So what are the thoughts on that?
I'm curious about the opinions on this as well, though I'm not min/maxing like others here.
I understand the value of a quick-recharging attack where Power Siphon ramp-up is concerned, but I just don't have room to add Quick Strike unless I lose something else.

Well that's just it, she very clearly made a remark aimed at a male character, otherwise I would not have noticed at all. I remember during beta (with the same essential character) seeing the equivalent remark for females, so I was expecting that.

Hadn't thought of that. I'll give it a shot as soon as I'm able to get the character anywhere near an AE.
  22. So I took my shiny new electric dom through Nova Praetoria and did the arc which results in you fighting all of the top dogs in the Powers Division. At the final round fight, you get a decent amount of encouragement from Praetor Duncan. After winning, she kind of hit on my character, making remarks about keeping an eye on capable men.

Which is fine, except my character was a lady.

Is there some easy way in-game to see what gender a given character is flagged as, so I can tell if this char is set wrong?

Follow it up with Burst pbaoe (with bonus fire dmg!) to knock some of them down inside the patch as well. I imagine it will be a very potent offensive combination.

Pretty sure it does, yeah. And since the new FE adds bonus fire dmg rather than a dmg bonus %, PS enhances that even more, meaning /FA chars should get more out of PS than everyone else.
