  1. My only beef with it is that it seems unusually endurance-hoggy.
Even my /wp char is wheezing...

That said, if they added some camera-shake like stone melee has it would be even more awesome.

  3. Hrm, if it goes on sale like Beam Rifle did AFTER I buy it, I am gonna hate myself...
  4. When is that dang account management system gonna come baaaaaaaaaaack

THIS is how they'll squeeze us...the impatience factor....

    NOooooooooooooooooooooooo!
  7. Actually, even if they put it on sale like beam rifle was at first, I can't afford it unless I buy points so....
  8. Just put it up noooooow pleeeeeeasee........
  9. Am I the only person who found The Awakened to be a) ridiculously over-numerous and b) ridiculously overpowered? I'm all for more challenge, but I'm sure I died more in those missions (with help no less) than I did in all the previous years I've played this game...

Sadly their web hosting does not seem to be as awesome.
  11. Can someone who actually got the installer maybe throw it up somewhere for everyone else, since their system seems completely annihilated now?
  12. Wow, it just goes to show that no matter what awesome stuff the devs do for us, there will always be people who whine and complain about it.
  13. It annoys the heck out of me when other games DON'T use WASD, so I remap those instead.
  14. Cannot believe people are still posting in this damn thread.
  15. Hell, most of my chars don't even have a slotted alpha yet.
  16. Admittedly it has been awhile since I last played, but that certainly sounds a whole lot easier than the effort required to get an equivalent Very Rare Alpha ability.

But I got the impression that new-style components also drop *during* the iTrials, or is that not the case? i.e. no components if you do not complete?
Also I got the impression that the Thread drop rate was higher than the Shard drop rate, although components do take more Threads to craft. Still, with the ease of getting into the new iTrials it still sounds to me like casuals will have Very Rare post-Alpha slots a lot sooner than they would Very Rare Alphas.

However the Alpha slot is much cheaper than the others to buy with shards, plus the Notice of the Well is much easier to get than the new rare components. Therefore you're probably best off using the threads to work on the new slots and using shards and the WST to build up your alpha boost.
So from what I am reading, it sounds as though the post-Alpha slots will be a whole lot easier to build up than the Alpha slot itself, which uses shards (assuming they did not increase the drop rate, still tedious to get) and tfotw *successes*. Whereas new slots can be geared up even with repeated iTrial *failures*.
  19. Can someone clarify something for me? Threads CAN be used to make Alpha slot components? Is this worth doing, or is the exchange rate so bad that you should stick to shards? If my char only has a common Alpha, is it worth it to upgrade that with threads from the new tfs or use the threads solely for the other incarnate slots?

    issue20 tuesday?

I heard nothing but bad things about the NC Launcher before using it, but since changing over it has been much, much faster than the usual patcher for me.
  21. You're definitely not the only one having this issue, the game is essentially unplayable for me right now due to bursts of lost packets every few seconds. If I join a team, netgraph becomes a solid wall of red and I get mapserved out.
I did a trace from myself to Virtue using WinMTR and saw 64% packet loss at some server in San Jose near their end.
  22. We talk about Origin so much that we seem to forget the actual meaning of the word.

Just because your Origin is "Natural" doesn't mean that your Destination is too.
The whole concept behind Power being a sentient force in the universe that drives the evolution of willful beings opens you up to all manner of interpretations for how that works in practice. You may start out as a particularly skilled martial artist, but over the span of your career you get faster, stronger, more agile...and one day you just *snap* and suddenly everything that took effort before is now effortless. You broke through some natural limitation through sheer force of will and now you're so fast you react before things happen, you're so strong you defy the laws of physics, you're so agile you dodge instinctively, thoughtlessly, even things you can't see coming.
Everything that took hard work and effort before becomes second-nature, and you're ready to push yourself Beyond "Natural".
  23. As someone who suffers from a debilitating curse which makes it nigh impossible for me to get on teams, this new "add yourself to queue" mechanic is just fantastic. The ability to continue getting Incarnate progress while doing solo content is also great.

I can't help but notice, however, that he very clearly used the wording "everything(!)" when talking about it, and it makes me wonder if perhaps maybe AE content will start dropping shards too. That would have the potential to be either fantastic or disastrous.
  24. Just checking, but my sub (on the 6month plan) comes up for renewal right in the middle of this span. Since it autorenews anyway, surely this counts as being active for the duration, right?
  25. Pretty sure it is new company policy, and not a good one at that.
    Feelin' the doom...
