As we saw in the big PvP events Stalkers were less of a danger as they were prone to being reveled by the many AoEs and PbAoes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Are you sure AoE's reveal stalkers? I've only ever seen it interrupt there AS, but it still leaves them hidden and able to get an opening critical hit from a regular attack.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm going on the 'Hide' description though it could be wrong -
"... If you attack or take damage, you will be discovered. Even if discovered, you will be hard to see and will retain the +def bonus"

I think this says that you lose the -perception bonus but having not played a stalker maybe someone else can confirm.

    Siren's Debt

    [ QUOTE ]
Someone came up with the idea before that when struck by a player-villain/hero, you should be protected from debt for a short period.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This would create an exploit for risk free XP.
All you need is a Villian/hero counterpart that will brawl you occassionally for debt-free XP gain. Boring to do but an exploit all the same.

The removal of XP and debt seems the best way. The missions are entirely optional.
Some PvE people may say they want the XP and missions but it's still a PvP zone.
At the same time we should remove the introduction to the contacts in the PvP zones.
  3. Yes I remember being ASed once in the air once (Could it have been you Valhart? ) I've learned stalkers are more dangerous when airborne - too many assume they are safe when up high.

As we saw in the big PvP events Stalkers were less of a danger as they were prone to being reveled by the many AoEs and PbAoes. Flight may help here to avoid some PBAoe and other effects like Caltrops etc.

I disagree, Lando Carlrissian would totally beat Han Solo in a fist fight.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Pssh... Neither would be able to take on Nien Numb and live to tell the tale.

    Mon Mothma FTW!
  5. The reason this thread isn't helpful is because we've already got an ongoing thread covering the same ground (350+ posts).

    Here

We've just repeated what was said in that thread. So in a way I agree this is a waste of a thread.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
    as for the starting poster.
You just wanted your own thread didn't you?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I want my own stalker thread too!
Heck I want my own personal stalker (as an Arch Nemesis) to follow me around wherever I go... Ok maybe not.
  7. Congrats Pob!
    Sorry I missed the celebrations.

I hope Pobinea will still taken out once in a while - who else is going to keep me from dieing?
  8. Ahh I see, that sounds like a good PvP build to me.
However I think not being able to hit was more to do with stacked DM debuffs (-ACC) than the defense of SR which only musters a def buff of around 30% fully slotted (without Elude).
  9. [ QUOTE ]
To be honest I agree - stalkers are overpowered ; so are controllers, SR Scrappers and people who fly in pvp zones, stopping my tank or brute from killing them

Having teamed with stalkers a lot in PvE they are truly squishy - they have to be good at something

    [/ QUOTE ]

SR Scrappers overpowered- really! thats the first time I've heard that.
  10. It's like the "Never Ending Story" except in thread form.
  11. Thanks Nightbringer, you're spot on.
Although CAK still appears to still have immob and slow.

    some of the figures here.

    From US forum
  12. I personally don't mind the animation. It's 2 seconds the same as Crane Kick and looks nifty!

However I prefer to use CaK in my chain ahead of Crane kick because with Crane you need to chase after knockbacked opponents.

With Quickness (no Hasten) and one Rec Red in each attack.
It's easy to chain -> Eagles Claw -> CaK -> Storm -> Crane (occasional Dragons tail or Air Sup thrown in)
  13. Great news I also see in todays Test server patch notes

"Police Drones and Arbiter Drones can now see Stealthed entities and enemy players. "

There was already a drone inside the hospital when I was last there.
  14. Yes Crippling Axe Kick got boosted in I6.

    [ QUOTE ]
Slightly Modified some Martial Arts damage scales, end costs and recharge times.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It now does almost the same damage as Crane Kick
[edit] See below for correction. It now does the same damage as Crane kick *used* to.

Numbers wise Brawl Index of 4.5.

The chance to disorient + slow isn't that high still (unlike Cobra strike) but a nice side effect when it does happen.

  15. I'm with Tainted Greek and Stalk_obot on this one - they appear to be the ones keeping an open view on this.

This is a matter of pride mostly I think.

The way I see it Stalkers are immensley powerful but at the same time incredibily weak. The first time in Sirens I was ASed several times and thought it stinked.
How could my ‘uber’ toon be two-shotted so easily!
I could have just given up and complained they were overpowered or I could
make it a challenge to beat them at their own game.

I actually feel Stalkers do bring an excitement and a real sense of danger to a zone.
I’m all for keeping them as they are, although the outcry for nerfs says otherwise.

    I don’t play a stalker btw.
  16. Hi Crystal, Just got "Uridium" my Rad to 20 I will probably bring him to the party for a bit!
  17. [ QUOTE ]
I don't mind people running off, but It ticks me off when they head to the safe zones and drone hug. Why bother coming into PvP if thats all your going to do?

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is why I think PvP is better when centered in the middle of a zone to avoid this running in and out of bases.

Saying that as a defender I did run once all the way back to the hero base after being chased about half a mile across a zone. I dont see any problem with that it's just survival instincts.
  18. Hey Stryker,
Whilst I admire anyone whos idea of PvP is to fight to the death.
To me PvP is all about staying alive and running away to fight another day is a valid tactic (especially for squishy scrappers).
As is using your escape powers to your advantage eg. phase shift, tp etc.
Saying that if I die then it's no big deal it's all part of the fun.

You could always agree in advance to fight someone one on one to the death if you wanted ? I'd happily accept that.
  19. [ QUOTE ]

How dare you shame the name of defenders and let your team go unbuffed!

  20. Has anyone taken Sonic/Sonic to higher levels?

Currently at lvl 9 and not seen anything majorly exciting yet in this powerset. It seems to require a lot of 'offending' people with your secondary.
Maybe I've been scrapping too long to enjoy this Powerset but I do enjoy playing a Rad Defender.

The placing of shileds is on each person is a little bit of a chore and I tend to forget Was reminded a few times by the team to buff them. For some reason too you can't buff yourself so no shields if soloing.

There are a couple of dodgy looking power picks -
    eg.
'Sonic cages' (stops a foe attacking and also being attacked),
'Shockwave' (minor damage + knock back + aggro magnet)and
'Sonic Repulsion' (end hog like whirlwind)

    I've taken so far
Exported from version 1.5C of CoH Planner
    http://joechott.com/coh

    Archetype: Defender
Primary Powers - Ranged : Sonic Resonance
Secondary Powers - Support : Sonic Blast

    01 : Shriek
    01 : Sonic Barrier
    02 : Scream
    04 : Sonic Haven
    06 : Sonic Siphon
    08 : Disruption Field

Anyone else enjoy playing sonic (not the hedgehog)?

[edit] The only thing that I found funny was when I joined a frostfire team in Hollows, the blaster wanted a healer instead. We carried on anyway. In the end went throught the mission on rugged with no deaths.
  21. Yes anyone can join - just use the join chat channel button.
Yes it on an account level. So all your Alts will get the channel.

    Union PvP

Imitation is a form of flattery Rock.

Looks like it'll be Wednesday 8pm too.
  23. Last night was PvP in the right spirit. I had a great time too. Saw you Rock as Agent Skull - could see you but couldnt hit you at one point. First time I've been ASed by a stalker I could see.

Also it was much better when the action is set away from the bases. When the villians got pushed back to the base it got a little boring.
Someone suggested the fight move to Ground Zero and this did make it much fairer. Something we should suggest again the next time.
